Chapter 37: What in the Euchi is this (37)
POV change.
Sora took in a deep breath, releasing all of the Reiatsu that he had been hiding for years. Now, inside of this cage, Sora slowly removed the gloves that had been restricting his powers for so, so long.
As the first glove came off, what could be seen as a tsunami seemed to have erupted. Sora could feel 40% of his control over Reishi returning. As he removed the second one, he was back to 100%, no longer restrained to only 20% of his Reishi control.
Now, fully unleashed, he felt his senses being overloaded with so many new things to experience. Even though there was barely any ambient Reishi in the air due to the barriers created by yours truly, Sora could still feel the jump from before.
As he decided to use one Hirenkyaku, he jumped the whole distance—his Hirenkyaku was around 4x to 5x better than usual. Alongside that, his Blut Vene, Blut Arterie, and all of his Quincy abilities received a massive buff.
His Reiatsu had also increased. The main purpose of the glove, however, was simply to push Reishi away from him, making it harder to control. Basically, what he was trying to say was that this whole time, he had been fighting with a handicap.
Sora's Wheel spun again. He forced himself not to go into Letzt Stil, suppressing that desire down along with the overwhelming sensation he was experiencing. This was also why he wanted the area to have no ambient Reishi in the air—so that when he removed the glove, he wouldn't immediately enter that form.
Now, it was time for him to get used to his actual full power. Funny, he had more raw Reiatsu than Ichigo. Well, who cared? He was going to spend these days refining it so he could better use it in the future.
The first thing he made was a Reishi shield. Then a hammer. Then a minigun.
Then... a two-story tall house.
Quincy were like the Green Lanterns of this world of Shinigami and Hollows. He wondered why they didn't use their ability to manipulate Reishi in more creative ways and instead chose to be stuck in their old traditions.
Like, a bow and arrow was cool and all, but imagine making a minigun that could shoot 600 Reishi bullets per second. That was something no bow and arrow could compete with.
Sora's goal for this training was simple: first, he needed to get control over his newfound mastery over Reishi.
If the information given to him by Rukia was to be trusted—which it was; she had no reason to lie to him—then Soul Reapers were spiritual beings...
Hold up.
Soul Reapers were spiritual beings. Quincy could...
Hehehehehehhe.
A devious smile spread across Sora's face.
Though he quickly calmed himself down. If it was that easy, Quincy would have made Soul Reapers their bitch already. So he was guessing there was more to it.
That, or no Quincy had truly mastered their ability to make Reishi their bitch. Oh well.
While fighting Byakuya, he had sensed the man's connection with his Zanpakutō.
He wondered if he could interfere with the spiritual frequencies that Soul Reapers relied on to maintain a connection with their Zanpakutō.
A Zanpakutō was an extension of a Soul Reaper's soul, and its functionality was deeply tied to the flow of spiritual energy between the wielder and the blade.
He wondered if he could destabilize this flow, severing the synchronization and weakening the Soul Reaper's combat capabilities.
Oh, the joy of being the master of spiritual energy.
Oh, fun.
Oh, fun.
Well, that was his goal set—to create a technique that disrupts the link between a Zanpakutō and its owner and to develop a technique to cloak his spiritual pressure to resemble a Shinigami's.
However, for that, he would need a test dummy to try it out on.
He felt the presence of a Shinigami entering his barrier.
A wide grin spread across his face.
Jackpot.
POV change.
A young adult woman with turquoise eyes, red oval glasses, and long black hair stood casually. Her hair had bangs in the front, while the back was tied in a braided ponytail.
She wore a long-sleeved sailor fuku outfit with a teal green/blue collar and a matching pleated miniskirt that ended just above her stomach, complete with a pink neckerchief.
She had just finished reading another one of her mangas. The drawing was amazing, but the story? Well... kind of mid. Straight porn, no action.
This wasn't worth the 500 yen.
Oh well, she still read it.
The story was mid—a girl randomly found a strange structure in the middle of the forest and decided to investigate it... only to get violated by the beast inside, leaving her so drained she could barely even move.
Not exactly groundbreaking storytelling.
Oh well. It wasn't like she was dumb enough to fall for one of those stupid traps.
As she made her way back toward the base, probably to catch some Z's, she noticed something in the distance.
A giant sphere made out of Reishi.
...
...
Well, she wasn't stupid. She was not going to go there.
As if she would actually walk into that thing.
Because this looked exactly like the plot of the story she had just been reading.
...
...
And yet, here she was, standing right in front of it.
She couldn't help but be amazed—the place looked like it had been built by an expert.
She wondered who could have constructed such a thing.
As she reached out to touch it, a door appeared and opened in front of her.
So far, still following the plot of the erotic book she had just read.
Did she really want to risk it?
Well, you only live once.
Plus, she was fairly strong. She was sure nothing would happen to her.
It wasn't like she was about to fight someone who completely countered her or anything.
As she walked inside... yup. She felt it.
The air felt heavy.
She felt weak.
As she turned toward the door, it had already closed behind her.
Oh.
Swallowing her saliva a bit, she decided to look around.
She wasn't scared. She could do this.
{Hello there.}
"Ha!" she yelped, jumping back the second she heard the voice in her mind.
{You can scream all you want. No one is going to find you here.}
"Smash, Haguro Tonbo!"
She slammed the hilt of her Zanpakutō into the mouth of its scabbard before twirling it over her head with both hands. As she spun it around her body, the sword lengthened into an exceptionally long polearm, outfitted with a blade reminiscent of a monk's spade on one end and a heavy ball on the other.
However, the second she released her Shikai, she felt weak.
That didn't stop her.
The very next second, Sora was in front of her, though his face was a blur.
Using a sword he had created, he clashed with her.
Clang!
Clang!
