Chapter 47: Gin (47)
Yoruichi then went on to explain how, in the 300 years he had been guarding the gates, no one had ever managed to slip by him.
The glaze was unreal.
"Is he really that strong?" Uryu asked.
"He can kill 30 Hollows with one swing of his axe," Yoruichi added.
"Can't you do the same? Like, from what I am sensing from you, you're a lot stronger than him, so why the glaze and uncalled-for d-riding?" Sora felt a cat swipe at his head.
"Compared to the average Soul Reaper, Jidanbō is incredibly strong. You just happen to be stronger."
"Oh... am I hearing praise from you?" Sora teased, to which all he got from the cat was:
"Keep dreaming."
Meanwhile, Ichigo could be seen fighting—more like blocking all the strikes coming at him. All of the creature's attacks were just him saying names.
Weird.
Sora's gaze then turned to Uryu. His brother's Reiatsu seemed to be around the level Renji would have been without the seal.
Though, just a bit more, though.
So his brother would be able to beat Renji even if the boy used Shikai. Cool.
He wondered what kind of inhuman training Uryu had gone through to progress so much.
He wondered if his cousin/brother's hidden power would manifest. It would be cool if it did.
He could remember when they were kids and training. He remembered that day so vividly.
Sora turned his head around as he heard crying.
"You broke my axe!" Jidanbō wailed on the floor, his tears falling in streams. The man cried and cried.
Sora watched as Ichigo apologized to the giant, saying he was sorry and that he didn't mean to break the axe. Ichigo truly was a good man.
Sora found this all endearing. His eyes, however, darkened when he felt the aura of someone very strong approaching.
Yoruichi, currently comfortably lying on his head—since the Reishi in the air seemed to really like the boy—was the most likely to detect enemies even before she could, and thus his head was the ideal spot to sit.
She felt a slight disturbance in the boy's Reiatsu.
It wasn't enough for the people around them to notice. Heck, even Uryu didn't notice. However, since she was sitting on his head, she could feel it.
Her eyes furrowed a bit toward the gate.
Jidanbō stopped, mid-way through lifting the gate.
As Ichigo asked him why, the man simply replied.
"The Captain of Squad 3 of the Gotei 13... Gin Ichimaru."
"Oh, this won't do," the man's voice came out saying.
The man who appeared was thin, tall, and youthful, with very sharp features, giving him a skeletal appearance. He bore lengthy, unusual silver hair and kept his eyes constantly narrowed to slits.
He had this mocking smile on his face.
The very next second, a slash mark appeared on Jidanbō's arm.
Blood came gushing out like water from a stream.
Jidanbō was forced to one knee while holding the gate above his head.
"A Guardian of the Gate is not supposed to let people in, don't you think?" The same mocking smile remained on the man's face.
"Ichigo Kurosaki won fair and square. I am just letting him in," Jidanbō replied weakly.
"A Guardian that can't guard the gate has no use." The man still had that mocking look as he stared at Jidanbō.
As the man raised his blade, preparing to slice the giant to pieces, the very next second, he was attacked by Ichigo.
"The hell do you think you're doing?!" the boy shouted, looking quite angry that the man had attacked Jidanbō.
Gin just looked confused, gazing at the boy in front of him.
"Ichigo, retreat. You are not his match," Yoruichi practically ordered, jumping off her resting place—Sora's head.
"Ichigo..." the man muttered.
"You must be Ichigo Kurosaki. What a coincidence," he said, a smile still present on his face.
"That's all the more reason to let you pass," the man said.
"Shoot to kill, Shinsō."
As those words left his mouth, the man launched an attack at Ichigo. The boy parried the strike but was launched outside of the gate.
As the gate began to fall, the man could be seen waving his hand, saying,
"Bye-bye."
When the gate was almost done closing, the man made eye contact with Sora. A faint smile could be seen on his lips upon seeing the boy.
His name should be Sora Ishida. A shame he didn't get to test the boy's skill. Oh well, he would get the chance later on.
Sora yawned a bit. Well, that was a disaster.
He watched Orihime begin healing the giant.
Sora, however, just looked at his hand.
He could see it. He could see Gin's sword trajectory.
More like the Reishi in the air was telling him what he needed to know.
Still, he could see it.
Fun.
A/N For anyone saying, oh why didn't he do anything....his main goal is not to stir trouble or not make too much notice to attract attention, so fights he will take his fight he can easily one-shot the opponent without making too much noise, a fight with Gin is the opposite of that.
Also voted end Friday, so hum.....
