The Alien and the Cursed Star

Stares.

Few hours have been passed. As Sabrina's father says her name, the old man just stares the trees at the window.

The man occasionally says the name "Sabrina" or the other name who is "Maria".

"Sabrina…" her father repeatedly says it. He looks lost in mind again.

He then turns his look to Nathaniel. Looking to the young man.

"Sabrina, my daughter. Please take care of her. Save her." It was her father being affectionate today. He cups Nathaniel face saying those words to him.

Sadness and thoughtfulness.

The truth is Sabrina's dad cares to her. He can feel it.

"Yes Mr. Levi. We will take care of your daughter." Nathaniel replied to him.

"Please. Promise me. You will protect her."

Even Nathaniel does not know what Sab's father mean to, he nodded to his statement.

"Promise."

Maybe because Sabrina's mother does not care at her. He remembers Sabrina's first day in the condo when she also complaints about her mother treatment to her. Maybe, Sabrina is really, alone in this world.

"Thank you." Her father held his hands while thanking him with that smiles form into his lips. He then stands up and goes near the window and continue to look at the trees.

"Sabrina…"

The calling of Sabrina's name continues.

Nathaniel says to Sabrina's father to become healthy and strong before he closes the door as his shift is done. He goes to his locker and change his clothes. Working hours are over and he wants to straightly go home. He gets his bicycle which he always use. That was Tan's gift to him last year on his birthday. Tan observes even before that Nathaniel hates to be exposed with too many people. And he himself admitted it. He rather wakes up early to avoid rush hours or booked a car even if it is a bit expensive just to preserve his energy.

After unlocking the locked of his bicycle, Nathaniel started to paddle. And to avoid too many cars in the main road, he creates his self-route where he mostly sees the natural and province looked houses. He likes to see trees and plants. Flowers with different colors and specially the wind that touches his face. Of course, for some routes, he still he needs to be in the main road but as much as there are other ways, he chooses the not crowded way.

One of his favorite places is what he called secret spot. It was his secret spot where he is the one who only discovers it. Because out of all the time he visited there, no one ever goes there. But his secret spot is out of his home route. He needs to bicycle it for four hours. And when he wants to, he will do it with efforts even he can do teleporting.

For today, he will straightly go to condo and take some rest.

Nathaniel stops. He stops his bicycling when he was in his condo's building. A car also stops behind him.

His neighbor steps down in the car with her wide smiles. He does not know if the lady notices him, as usual she is still wearing her shades eyeglasses. But all he knows is that the girl is really in the mood today.

Sabrina instructed his driver, talking to him but he does not care to eardrops, so Nathaniel goes inside the building and awaits the elevator. There are four elevators in the building but none of those are already on the ground floor. In that case, he still needs to wait.

Ding!

One of the elevators open and Nathaniel goes inside. It was then that Sabrina goes inside too.

They are in the elevator now. Nathaniel does not mind at all. He stays quiet as always. The lady does not talk too but her aura is too happy.

Then Nathaniel remembers that she needs to remind her to visit his father. He has this reminder letter in his bag.

He fakely cleared his throat to create a sound and to get Sabrina's attention. It is effective since Sabrina looks at him, but about 0.5 seconds and smiles afterwards. Her smile is not directly to him. Rather she smiles after looking at him. Her smile is telling something. Something that she thinks that Nathaniel really needs something to her. Well, to Nathaniel's mind, she is the one who needs him. No, them. Nurses in the hospital.

"Uhm…" but he needs to talk to her. Just to remind her to visit her father.

"Uhm?" the girl repeated his word. Waiting for him to continue.

"Uhm, I need you—"

"Alright. I knew it! You just must tell me. Here is my book, its free by the way." The girl landed to his hand a book which he does not know why she is giving her to him.

"I thought it was your brother who only like me as an author. My gosh, that is why you are also there in my fan meeting. Oh, I forgot." she gets the book from Nathaniel, open the first page and do her signature.

"I almost forgot my precious signature." Then as the door open, she places her shades above her hair and wink at Nathaniel with her genuine smile.

I was about to say that she needs to go to the hospital. What is she even thinking.

Nathaniel decided to open his television after he ate his dinner.

It was in the news that Sabrina releases its latest book where her fans buy it and being sold out for just a day. He notices the book where Sabrina gave to her. She mistaken thinks that he loves reading her books. He is a bookish type of person, but he does not have interest in that story telling type of books. Its giving coloring books vibes.

"So that is why she is very happy." She is having a fan meeting again and think I am out of those.

Curiosity hits him. He still holding the book. What does Sabrina writes? What is she telling in her stories?

The next thing he knows is his hands automatically open the book, and he started to open the cover revealing again Sabrina's signature.

A flashback in his mind of how assuming Sabrina.

The title of the story is "A girl who loves her father turned to be his nightmare".

There was a girl who loves her father. It is the first sentence.

Every day, her father works, the girl is always waiting for her father to come home.

And when father arrives, his warming hugs completes the day of his daughter.

It was just like every day; the girl waits to her father and father smiles at the door waiting for her daughter to hug her.

But one day, his father change.

The girl heard the opening of their door, but his father, without looking at her, smiles are gone, his arms are not open.

Father opens the door and walks straightly to his room.

From that day, father did not talk to his daughter.

And eventually, father does not want to see her.

And from then, the daughter becomes his father nightmare.

Die.

Sabrina's father choking her to death.

It seems that Sabrina's feelings are incorporated to her stories, and it is full of pain. Longingness for love. Love for his family.

But Sabrina must visit his father now. Today, he remembers her as her daughter.

"Sabrina. Sabrina." Two calls while knocking her door.

"What is that my shy type of fan?" A smiling Sabrina opens her door looking very happy to him. It was a rare, good day for her.

Would he ruin it?

"Here is a reminder letter." Nathaniel held out a small envelope.

Sabrina looks at Nathaniel confused but decided to get the letter.

"What is this? A fan letter? Oh no, I'm so touched!" she said with a playful pout, holding the letter to her chest in mock drama.

"Visit your father at the hospital. He needs you." Nathaniel added in his statement. He saw how immediately Sabrina's smile drop. The immediate change of expression and ended it with a "No" and a bang of the door.
