The Backbender (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: I am a Water Bender.

"Ok. See you later." Kanuk smiled as he waved goodbye to Katara. He watched as she walked away, her backside swinging from left to right, showing her compact but thick curves.

When Katara vanished from his sight, he finally turned around and entered his own ice igloo house. He had black baggy pants and black boots that went up to his calves.

He had a thin black t-shirt with a deep blue jacket that had white fur around the hoody. It was a zip-up hoody with no pockets. With a comfortable sigh, Kanuk sat down on his bed.

[Ding!]

[Succesfully managed to copy Water bending!]

[Host can now use waterbending.]

Kanuk felt his body contract as a pulse of deep and powerful energy entered his body. It felt ancient, raw and powerful, like nothing that Kanuk felt before.

Neither world had a power like this.

Yes. Kanuk is actually a transmigrator from Earth. On a good sunny day, he was just fishing alone by a river. When a freaking arrow entered his back and came out of his heart.

He looked back and noticed that it was a fucking indian tribe looking motherfucker with a bow and arrows. His last thoughts were wishing he was in the Avatar universe.

His wish came true.

He got his long-awaited wish, and he was now in the avatar world, with a system no less. It has been a week since he was already in this world, and he found out some interesting things.

For one, this world still has the universe, but he also figured out that the Avatar can only be a girl due to the spirit that gives the Avatar its powers. The spirit is believed to be a girl.

He had no problem with that since he does not really care what gender the avatar is. The second fact he found interesting is that he was in the Southern water tribe.

The Avatar has still not been found since her disappearance, nor awakened by Katara and her brother, Sokka. This gave Kanuk time to gather his bearings.

First things first, he got to know what his system was capable of doing and if it could help him get stronger. The answer he got from the system was a quick yes.

The system mainly has 4 functions, nothing beyond that.

The first function of the system is called Stat points allocation. This function allows him to freely allocate stat points he gains to several of his attributes.

He can gain stat points from Quests and long-term missions.

He can also get stat points whenever he kills something alive. The stat point is then dropped from their dead bodies, but it's not enough to instantly make him a god.

The second function of the system is called. Skill Tree allows him to learn skills and then level them up or even evolve them in a direction he wishes.

For example, he could get a spearship skill, max it, and then he could choose to evolve the skill. He could either evolve it into a skill with stronger power or stronger speed.

He can level up the skills with more use of them, as well as using quests or exp gained from killing living things.

The third function of the system is called Inventory. This skill allows him to store anything inside an infinite space. In this infinite space, he could control how time functions.

He could either make it so time passes for things stored in there or if he wants to freeze time for some specific things. But the only downside of the inventory is that it's only capable of storing inanimate things.

So, no storing animals, humans or anything alive. But anything else goes, water? Yes. Air? Also yes. As long as it is not alive.

The fourth and final function of the system, also the most important in Kanuk's opinion, is called the 'Copy Function'.

This function allows Kanuk to copy an ability or attribute from anything. For example, he could copy the water bending from Katara or also copy her stubborn nature.

He could copy skills from people, like knowing how to use a spear, but it always starts at level 1. This is the case with everything he copies. He could copy a wide variety of things from someone.

Like their calm thinking and their reaction time, the best thing about this is that he could fuse things he copied as long as they were similar to each other.

Quick thinking and reaction time could be fused to create a more impressive and stronger skill. But to have a fused skill, you will have to sacrifice your skills.

This means if you have a quick thinking at level max and a reaction time at level 100. Your fusion skill would be made, but you are sacrificing your level 100 reaction time.

That's not a bad thing, as long as the fused skill is impressive enough to not care. You could also get a skill that will allow you to have the reaction - time of a reaction time level 100, at barely level 10 of the fused skill.

Knock*

Knock*

Kanuk was pulled out of his thoughts as someone came knocking on his door. He stood up and then walked over to open the door, coming face to face with Sokka.

"Sokka? What is it?" Kanuk asked with confusion since it was now nighttime. The sky was dark, and the cold wind of the Arctic was swept into his face.

"Kanuk. I know that you have gotten better at spearfishing. I want you to come with me and my sister to hunt tomorrow." Sokka explained with slightly narrowed eyes. He saw Katara talking to Kanuk just a few minutes ago, and he was confused.

"I would love to!" Kanukl replied with a large smile on his face. This was not just a hunting trip for him. This was an opportunity for him as he has a system.

"See you tomorrow at the docks. Be there at 11 in the morning." Sokka turned around to leave while leaving the time for the hunt behind. Kanuk closed his igloo door and went to sit back on his bed.

"System. Bring up my stat interface." Kanuk listened to the sound in the air, not hearing anyone in a 10-meter radius. Kanuk called out to his system. He used the skill of super hearing.

He copied it from a Frostback Hare. Some people in the Southern Water tribe keep them as pets or use them to detect threats like dangerous animals.

He managed to copy its hearing ability and its exceptional jumping ability. He tried to fuse them, but it was not compatible. His hearing was enhanced by a huge margin.

Even his jump was much higher and faster. He could make Lebron James look like a child in a jump competition full of other Lebron James. That's how much his jumping improved.

Not only did his jumping get enhanced, but his legs also turned stronger, allowing for faster running. But that is about all he has done since he got here.

Not because he could not copy every single ability, but because why would he copy abilities that can't be fused and barely do anything.

There are no young people in the tribe either, only old people, and they all have only negative attributes now, like hearing loss level 100 and vision loss level 100.

{System Interface showing.]

[Name: Kanuk]

[Age: 15/103]

[Bending: Water Lv.1 {0/100}]

[Strength: 10]

[Speed: 10]

[Durability: 10]

[Stat points: 0]

[Skills: 2.]

[1. Super hearing - Allows ears to hone in on sounds much further than a normal human.]

[2. Super Jump - Allows legs to contract and use kinetic energy to jump much higher than normal humans.]

Kanuk allowed a brief smirk to make it onto his face before he closed the interface and laid down on his comfy bed, with the crackling of fire in the middle of the igloo.

He closed his eyes and a couple of minutes later, fell asleep listening to the sound of the firewood crackling.

Leave a power stone!

Thought I would have a crack at trying to do an Avatar fanfic. I love the show, so I hope I finish it.

Leave a power stone to motivate me!
