Chapter 95: Volume 1 Chapter 95: Crocodile man Never Flee from Battle!

Reality isn't a game. There's no such thing as needing to reach level six to unleash an ultimate move like in League of Legend.

In essence, an "ultimate" is just one way to use Ascension Power.

To say that when Garde reaches hero level six, he can truly unleash his ultimate move is accurate, but right now, he's merely forcing the Ascension Power into his body to enhance his physical strength.

However, even this much is enough!

The firepower from the defensive cannons hurt Garde a lot. No matter how high his physical endurance, tanking a city-defense-level cannon shot still caused him immense pain.

His eyes, now filled with a blood-red hue, flashed with golden traces of Ascension Power.

He was certain that since leaving the rainforest, he had grown far stronger. It wasn't just the increase in his hero level; more importantly, it was his mastery of Ascension Power.

Garde's mouth was stained with the blood of a dragon, but he had no time to rinse it out. All he wanted now was to smash that cannon firing at him from above into pieces!

With bloodthirsty rage gleaming in his scarlet eyes, his wounds from the cannon were healing rapidly. Garde couldn't help but think that under these conditions, Gladiia might be more useful than him.

"Speed is the ultimate weapon!"

This saying wasn't just for show.

But Garde wasn't one to underestimate himself.

No matter how fast Gladiia was, it wouldn't matter if she couldn't break his defenses. In this burning Hotland, Gladiia would likely be dried out in no time, and her body would dehydrate after just one or two supersonic bursts of speed.

As the mechanical guards gathered in the distance and more shells fell from the sky, this time, Garde wasn't going to sit and wait.

With Ascension Power surging through him, Garde's speed increased dramatically. Each step he took left a massive crater in the ground.

Standing over four meters tall, he now towered over most of the mechanical guards. In Garde's eyes, the three-meter-tall machines looked like mere dwarfs.

In his usual state, Garde would have tried to break into the factory's processing zone first, but now, all he wanted was to smash everything in his path!

"I'll tear you all to pieces!"

Garde let out a deafening roar, charging into the army of machines like a harvester plowing through a field of tall grass. With just one move, he crushed a dozen or more mechanical guards into fragments.

Another shell fell from the sky, landing just meters away, decimating another large group of mechanical guards. Ironically, Garde ended up destroying fewer machines in that moment than the cannon did.

The explosion's shrapnel ricocheted off Garde's body, creating a shower of sparks.

"This level of attack won't harm me!"

If Garde took a cannon shot head-on, it would hurt, maybe even wound him. But the mere aftershock of the explosion? That was nothing he couldn't handle.

The mechanical guards in the factory were of all shapes and sizes, none of them resembling humans.

Every guard bore unique beam weapons, making one wonder just how efficient their energy systems were to support such frequent high-power usage.

But none of that mattered, because those attacks couldn't touch him!

"BULLDOZE!"

Facing the approaching mechanical guards encircling him, Garde started a deadly roll, like a massive drill burrowing through the steel walls of their defenses.

He soon reached the factory's processing zone, just one wall away. However, just as Garde was about to break through the factory wall to rush into the core processing area, something beat him to it.

A gigantic circular saw, larger than Garde's enhanced body, smashed through the wall, rushing toward him at high speed. Garde barely had time to raise his weapon in defense before the saw struck.

Screeeeech!

The piercing sound of grinding echoed off the walls of the factory.

The immense force caused the veins in Garde's arms to bulge as he glared ahead with bloodshot eyes.

This wasn't some kind of battle robot but a mere processing machine.

The factory's terminal intelligence had activated a massive, unused cutting machine to attack Garde.

Garde's physical strength was already formidable, and with Ascension Power coursing through him, he doubted anyone—aside from ancient, legendary beings—could match his raw power.

Yet, he found himself struggling.

This wasn't a human opponent; it was a machine. A remnant of an ancient era, wielding the full might of industrial strength.

While Garde was holding off one saw, the mechanical guards were closing in, and another circular saw was smashing through a wall on the other side, aiming at him.

'Even with Ascension Power, it's not enough?'

Garde's blood-red eyes grew even fiercer. His level was still too low, but that didn't mean he would give up.

Thud!

Garde channeled more Ascension Power into his feet, cracking the factory's alloy floor beneath him. The first crack was followed by a second and a third, spreading like a web under Garde's feet.

Seeing the underground tunnel that Kal'tsit and Saria had taken, Garde realized that this ancient processing factory had more than one layer.

The second saw was closing in fast. Struggling to fend off the first, Garde gritted his teeth, lifting his foot with great effort.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Faster! Faster!

Just as the second saw was about to cut him in half, Garde finally shattered the ground beneath him.

Boom!

The ground crumbled, and Garde fell to the lower level, the saw blade sweeping just over his head. He crashed to the floor with a heavy thud.

Cough, cough.

His muscles trembled slightly. Even with a crocodile man's toughness, blocking such a massive saw had strained his muscles. But Garde had no time to rest.

The moment he took a step, another saw crashed down behind him.

"Damn it!"

Garde cursed under his breath. There were plenty of mechanical guards in the underground level too, but compared to the surface, they were a minor inconvenience.

With a single sweep, Garde destroyed the machines in front of him and smashed through the underground entrance, charging into the processing zone.

Infusing his giant battle axe with Ascension Power, he hurled it overhead.

The razor-sharp axe blade sliced through the alloy ceiling with ease, flying toward the massive mechanical arm holding a circular saw.

Shreeeeech!

The giant mechanical arm, several meters thick, was almost sliced in two, its circuits nearly severed.

Feeling the rapid drain of Ascension Power, Garde took a deep breath and charged forward once more.

He had promised to draw the fire away from Saria and Kal'tsit.

And a crocodile man never flees from battle!
