The crimson princess

Chapter 162: Inglis part3

Pov Inglis,

Inglis: "But I thought you had all the time in the world?"

Unknown: "I was actually working on a magical girl project. I won't tell you what it is for now because it would take too long, and my wife knows more about magical girls than I do."

Inglis: "Since you lied to me, how can I trust you to keep your promise?"

Unknown: "Devils always have contracts to fulfill."

Inglis: "And what if one doesn't?"

Unknown: "I suggest you ask someone else, because I wouldn't want to traumatize my future daughter."

Inglis: "I never said I agreed."

Unknown: "In that case, good luck. It was a pleasure meeting you, Inglis."

A pattern, slightly different from the one that appeared when she arrived, began to glow on the ground.

Inglis: "Wait, don't leave me alone! I'll really die if you do."

Unknown: "I was just joking, but I'm still in a hurry—especially since an idea just came to me, and I won't forget it."

Inglis: "I accept your proposal."

Unknown: "Are you sure you won't regret it? There's no turning back."

Years later, I learned that they could have reversed it, but my body would have been destroyed due to my energy.

Inglis: "I don't really have a choice, but I want you to accept some conditions."

Most of them were for my own well-being and greater freedom.

Unknown: "What you mentioned is already included in the contract. Now, leave it to the professional."

She extended her arm, and a red object radiating powerful energy appeared in her hand.

Unknown: "This is an Evil Piece. It's what will allow you to become a Devil. There are several types, and the one I have here is a Pawn. I won't give you a full lecture on Evil Pieces right now because it would take too long, but I had no choice but to use this one since I only have two Pawns left."

She cut herself and let a drop of blood touch the Pawn, which reacted by glowing an even deeper red and radiating a more unsettling energy.

Unknown: "With this drop of blood, once you receive the Pawn, you will be recognized by the world and by everyone as my biological daughter."

She extended her hand in a dramatic gesture before declaring a completely embarrassing sentence.

Dia: "I, Dia Eucus, born Gremory, hereby make Inglis my seventh Pawn, but also my biological daughter. From now on, she shall be named Inglis Eucus."

The piece descended toward my chest before merging into me. It was a very strange sensation—I felt my body heat up and overflow with power. In fact, I had so much power that I felt like I was going to explode, and I wasn't joking.

Dia: "And now, the sealing."

She made a motion, and all the excess energy disappeared. My body relaxed, though I suddenly felt something emerging from my back.

Dia: "If you're wondering what that is, you now have beautiful crimson wings on your back, signifying your status as a member of my peerage."

I had now ceased to be human and had officially become a Devil.

Inglis: "It feels very strange not to be human anymore."

Dia: "You'll get used to it."

Dia: 'To all members of my peerage, please report to the throne room as soon as possible.'

I heard her voice in my head while she was likely speaking to the others.

Dia: "I have the ability to send telepathic messages to all members of my peerage."

Inglis: "Do you have a lot of members in your peerage?"

Dia: "I have almost the maximum allowed by the 15 Evil Pieces I obtained. Each person in my peerage consumes a piece, and if their power is too great, I have to use multiple pieces to allow them to join."

From what she explained, the more members a peerage has, the weaker it generally becomes. However, Dia—or rather, my mother—had found a way to bypass this limitation, gathering as many members as possible while maintaining very high power levels.
