Chapter 33: Chapter - 32 Glacies
The spirit realm is a domain inhabited by both spirits and mythical creatures. Most of these beings defy common logic and reason.
This realm is divided into vast landscapes, each governed by a powerful elemental king, a spirit king.
Vibrant and absurd colors fill the environment, where the pure energy of the primordial elements thrives. Deviant energies such as mana do not exist within this plane; if they do enter, they are nullified by the overwhelming spiritual power present. This is why Edward refrained from using his ice essence. Although his ice essence is a highly pure variant of mana, it still operates on the fundamental principles of mana strength, which involve casting, expanding, and controlling mana.
Spiritual energies, however, bypass this universal principle because they interact with the laws of the world they inhabit. This is also why contractors can wield the powers of spirits in our realm: they create the supernatural through a catalyst.
As a result, magic does not exist in this realm. The need for magic would be pointless, as beings within this realm possess the inherent ability to utilize spirit essence to perform supernatural feats with ease. Consequently, complex magic circles and incantations are unnecessary.

Waking from his slumber, Edward exited the makeshift tent with Azphel tied to his back and was met with the crisp, frigid gale of the outside world.
He spent several minutes stretching to prevent further injury to his body, then began training to regain his former strength.
Taking a grueling sprint around the forest, he limited himself from his usual masochistic training routine but still pushed his body to the point where anyone else would have passed out.
During his training, Edward constantly tried to manipulate the dense and abundant spirit essence surrounding him to no avail.
After exhausting his body to an extreme Edward would ingest the crystal-clear water from the lake, his insides were condemned to freezing temperatures. However, the spiritual power was synthesized.
Feeling reinvigorated, Edward's healing factor increased significantly, allowing him to continue his training.
After completing the morning training Edward washed up in the water where his body started to relax within the sun-zero temperatures.
Sitting in the water Edward started to meditate whilst trying to cultivate the surrounding energy with the same results.
Feeling frustrated with the lack of progress Edward exited the Water drying himself with mana before placing his garments back on.
Walking toward the forest Edward started to search for the remains of the tens which he had thrown.
Heightening his senses with ice essence he instantly found what he was probing for
Using the rubble he threw into the forest Edward was able to create a raft, for a water venture.
Glaring at crystal blue water with a dullened expression, Edward's emptiness crept pessimistically nagging at the positive outlook he had cultivated through the day.
Clicking his tongue Edward started to bite down on his lips to experience the iron-rich flavor of blood.
Closing his eyes
A small stream of blood pooled into his mouth as he enjoyed the rich & pungent flavor.
Satiated with this Edward grabbed the little belongings he still possessed and hopped onto the raft.
Shaking for several seconds due to the unexpected weight placed on its body the raft stabilized.
Nodding his head Edward set sail down the water current.
Several hours passed of Edward watching his surroundings and staying on course. Reaching into his garments Edward pulled out a folded piece of parchment, unfolding the paper showed an unknown language.
"Remember to come home okay" Edward read the note in that language's tongue but didn't seem to remember what world.
"Who wrote this for me?" Edward asked,
their hazed outline lingered within his mind. In every reincarnation, he was able to leave that past and continue living but he had always written these ambiguous words and carried them through that life.
A longing stirred deep within him, a sorrowful yearning he couldn't quite grasp. It was as though he was searching for a piece of himself lost to time—a connection that transcended the countless lives he had lived, but why did it feel so odd…
While Edward drifted down the current he was avidly being avoided by ice spirits.
Within the study of Spirit magic if a person wasn't born with the trait that made a person attractive to spirits, even an excellent wizard wouldn't be able to summon low-class spirits
Spirits tend to look for two aspects within a person, one being superficial looks and the other being the person's innate talent.
Edward had the ladder but lacked the prior.
Thought with his lack of good looks Edward was currently being observed with a complicated gaze.
[How is a mortal within the spirit realm?] questioned the observer
The ruler of this domain and spirit king of Ice, "Glacies

Clomp!
Clomp!
Crash!
Slash!
Thrown into the distance was a wolf of a great stature whose body was mutilated its head torn and limbs mangled
Edward Taking a large backflip back narrowly avoided a stealth attack presented by two agile wolves.
Edward landed on a nearby tree branch.
Edward was in a confrontation with a large pack of ice wolves after he slaughtered a few for substance.
Drawing Azphel from his back Edward raised his head and grinned as he gaped toward the large pack of wolves.
Preparing Azphel into a stance Edward jumped releasing a large gust of air.
Heading towards the large group of wolves Edward released a sword movement.
"Heaven & Hell swords art - A fool's endeavor for power"
Raising his sword to the half of his face Edward focused on the surrounding area and numbed all sensations except for one. The desire the hunger for endless growth
His body grew cold, his vision darkened, and his eyes narrowed as he observed the group of wolves. Summoning the lifeforce stored within him, Azphel Edward unleashed a horizontal strike that sent two parallel aura blades of condensed life force toward the pack of wolves.
"Boom" As Edward finished releasing the skrike he positioned his fingers into a finger gun before fixing his body to another sword strike
This strike decimated most of the group who were not able to react, while the rest scattered and organized into another position.
Seeing this Edward used the terrain to his advantage and started to use an omnidirectional sword movement which created a vortex of condensed life force using the remains of the slayed wolf
BOOM!
The wolves, realizing the mistake of provoking this fight, started to take a strategic retreat.
This was futile
Seeing the silhouettes of the Wolf's distance, the dense woods providing cover preparing his body into a stance, Edward burst forward toward the wolves with his crimson red blade held overhead.

Cleaning his sword with some wolf fur Edward observed the crimson splattered around him was slowly freezing and the bodies of the wolves were scattered around nearby.
Standing up Edward continued his journey where he was met with many more unusual creatures which attacked him.
Once a being was trying to lure him using his most lustful desired
Edward merely butchered the thing while annoyed.

Edward had finally reached the edge of the forest after several days of continuous travel.
Before him loomed a mountain ridge that rose tens of thousands of feet into the sky.
Fine with the prospect of climbing, Edward carefully observed the mountain's terrain to search for the most optimal path, aiming to minimize risk.
The climb took several days.
Upon reaching the top, Edward encountered a majestic being.
This handsome humanoid had ice-blue hair that cascaded down his head and wore arcane robes that emitted a subtle ice-blue aura.
The being slowly opened his eyes, looked at Edward, and offered a gentle smile.
[It seems you finally arrived]
