Chapter 290: The Dragon God
The two men fell into the conjured portal, the portal closing immediately after them.
"Leave them." Ludciel said to Rhagar.
"Let us go and welcome our God."
The two dragon kin zoomed, approaching the cavern they had just left. The walls of the cavern had melted and cooled to black rocks on the cavern floor.
Ludciel and Rhagar drifted to meet the other dragon lords still on their knees bowing to the one they had just freed.
"My lord." Ludciel spoke, and immediately zoomed to meet the rest below, placing his head down to his lord. The dragon kin are a proud bunch, they were the proudest of creatures back when they populated Mage'Earth, so to bend the knee to another was an act of total subservience, and it told of the revered power.
"It has been so long." The voice was deep and clear, it bellowed and had a certain thrumming to it, that it seemed that it was an abyss that spoke.
"For fifteen thousand years, I was trapped in there, fifteen thousand years!" The creature had his back to the bowing dragon lords, but now, he turned to meet them.
"My kin, you have made me proud, I am glad for your service, and such selfless acts for the dragon kin race shall be rewarded. To your feet."
"My lord, such indignity is far beyond you, let us remain." Ludciel said.
"Very well. However, I need to make it clear that the Dragon God has arrived. Yes, all of Mage'Earth must feel the shift in power!"
The creature obscured by wisps of smoke then clapped, and held his chin pondering.
"Yes!" He yelled.
"I know what would do the trick. The inhabitants of Mage'Earth shall tremble at my power."
He immediately went flying, zooming up vertically and away from his kinsmen. His body was shown to them in all of his radiance.
The dragon lords turned their heads up to make out the features of their beloved and fearsome God, he whose fall had led them astray, but now that he was here, he would put them forward at the right path.
The Dragon God was a giant amongst the Dragon kin. The dragon kin were a race of large people, they were known for their large and able bodies, with their average being about twelve feet in height. Experience exclusive tales on empire
However, this Messiah before them was much greater than that, he was about double of the average, with large limbs and muscles. The dragon god was red, his scales were glossy and beautiful, his eyes were red like the true flames of hell. His tail was large, and so were his arms and legs, they were as large as large trees that grew across the land.
On the dragon god's chest was a diamond shaped mark. It glowed, and the flames within it seemed like they swirled.
He threw back his large arms as if he was stretching them, and the air around him grew hot and suddenly a burst of flames lit up around him like fireworks.
"It is so good to be free, to be truly alive and not trapped in there." He took in deep breaths, basking in the warmth of the sun and the hot breeze that blew against his scaly surface.
"It was a good thing that I wrote that book, countermeasures don't hurt, and they do wonders, like having a bunch of genetically inferior kinsmen rescue one."
The dragon god closed his eyes for a few minutes, and slowly opened them, this time, they went totally red and burned. The god's face was also crumpled.
"Him! That traitor! He would pay, he would pay for what he has done!" He declared and looked down to the dragon lords.
"But first, I need to feed my minions."
He slowly descended to their midst.
"Is this all of us?" The dragon God questioned.
"No my lord, the rest are still within the caves. Most are more much farther down, taking abode at the mountain east of here. We had them stay away to reduce getting interrupted in the process to free you." Ludciel answered, his head still bowed, and his eyes fixed to the ground.
"Is that so? I want to see them all, I want to see those that are loyal to me and my cause, but before that, I'll give you your rewards for following me."
The dragon god stretched forth his right arm, his fist tightened. Red orbs suddenly materialized above the heads of the dragon lords.
The orbs radiated immense heat and the dragon lords could tell that great power was contained within those orbs.
"Your rewards, take them."
Ludciel was the first to raise his head and take the orb, he was rather eager for his spot at power. He knew what he had to do immediately with the orb. He held the hovering orb the size of a fist, the orb reddening and heating his fist, and slowly, he brought the orb to his mouth and swallowed.
As soon as he swallowed, he said some words, "The fruits from the lord, the fruits of power and knowledge, as written."
The others followed and imitated the action of Ludciel, and they too as well swallowed the hot red orb.
Immediately, like a chain reaction, starting from Ludciel and to the ones closest to him–in that procession, burst into flames.
Their bodies flared with red hot flames from the insides. They screamed as the pain seared through their nerves. The pain was unbearably hot, but they had to tolerate it, no power came without its fair share of pain.
Their insides burned for about twenty minutes when the flames died and they all fell tiredly to their knees. Their scales all changed their colors to red–same as the color of their God. Their bodies doubled in size over the time of the ordeal, and they all could feel the great surge of power within them.
"You all have been born again, you all are anew. Now, Mage'Earth shall feel my arrival."
He threw up his arm towards the sky, and a great swirling black thing appeared in the sky. It swirled in great speeds and suddenly, crashed into somewhere, an immaterial place, and what was left in its place was a large gaping black hole in space. The hole caused cracks, and the cracks spread.
Soon after, the skies of Mage'Earth reddened. The Armageddon had begun.
