Chapter 301: Preparations
A portal warped into existence in a fiery landscape–one of the planes the Dragon God had simply busied himself building since his arrival in Mage'Earth. At this center of this plane was a dais, tall and black as if it was made for a giant.
The portal appeared atop it, and from it came the dragon lords that had been fighting Iysa at the Eastern Theocracy. They landed on the empty throne, escaping the onslaught of destructive rays.
The upper most region of the space was dark and desolate like outer space, but without the innumerable stars that beautify it. Then, wisps of fire levitated from the burning bottom and joined each other, taking shape and moving into two large fiery eyes that told of rage.
"Why have you come here? Has the Eastern Theocracy fallen?" A deep all encompassing voice roared.
The dragon lords looked at each other, fear gripping them. They were aware that their God knew of their failure of capturing the eastern territory.
They pushed one of theirs forward, urging him to respond to their seething god.
"It seems that the theocracy has a divine force behind them. We would try again, but hopefully when they believe that the harm has passed so that we can take them by surprise once again." He answered.
"I see you bear no scars of battle. Did you all simply refuse to engage further with this divine thing? A Dragon Kin's life is nothing before honour. You five have dishonoured me."
"My lord!" They all cried.
"We would go to the Theocracy once again and capture it for you." The spokesman replied.
"Incompetent fools." The Dragon God uttered before disappearing.
The others who bowed got up on their feet, and they looked at one another, all of them bearing the same question in mind: Why were they here? If they wanted to shortly evade an attack of light, they could simply transport themselves to a nearby town that the attack would, or some remote place that has no need for the destruction they were spreading, anywhere but where they were now.
"Who created the portal?" The spokesman asked, and none of them claimed responsibility.
He sighed, "It doesn't matter, we would just have to finish what we started."

[The Royal Capital, Southern Kingdom]
I and Lucy waited for Francis and Lizbella to gather what remained of the alliance. Lizbella's connection to the spies was violently cut off which meant either of three things, all members of the team have been knocked out, and it was all at once in a single blow and at the same time, that or they were dead, or they were placed elsewhere that wasn't Mage'Earth.
Either way, that meant the team would have to move to plan B. We would storm the hideout of the Dragon Kin, and hopefully fight and capture their god that's wreaking all this havoc.
I recalled most of my minions, and purchased a number of high grade health and energy potions. I reckon that Lucy Fer did the same as well. This might as well be the toughest obstacle I'll ever face, and I think it's the same for everyone here.
The team had a number of fifty members still alive which was quite more than I expected. Then, a portal opened in our midst, and from it came individuals I had never seen before, but Absolute Appraisal soon gave me details of who they were.
'The number 1 ranker Caleb. He has such a powerful aura, and so much life energy, incredible.' I was genuinely amazed. He was even stronger than Lucy Fer, and I had quite the respect for Lucy's strength.
'And the kid?' I raised a brow surprised at his presence.
'This kid is the number 7 ranker? That's interesting. Speaking of kids, kids were also exposed to the horrors of the system? I can't imagine any of them surviving its ordeal, but here's one before me right now.'
Caleb caught my gaze and nodded to me, I nodded back. He walked up to meet Francis and then turned to us.
From the look on Francis' face, he had not expected Caleb to come up at his elevated position, and certainly not address us. I bet he was frustrated and annoyed that Caleb stole his spotlight, but of course he could do nothing about it.
"This might very well be our last. We knew largely nothing of this phenomenon, and we still do not know why we were pulled into this world, but one thing has been clear since our arrival. We are much stronger than this world's natives thanks to the same cursed system that brought us here. However, it is not just that. We brought with us our chaos, and our presence has terrorized the natives, from plundering their resources to outright subjugation and lording over them. These shouldn't be the ways of the strong. I believe a strong person exists to share their strength with those weaker than them." He paused, turned to Francis, Lucy, I and Park, us the top rankers in the room, and then he continued his speech.
"We can't avoid this coming conflict however, eventually it will come to us, and we will be much weaker then. However, let us use this tumultuous situation to prove ourselves as truly strong and deserving of our strength. Many of those we know are dead, and chances are that we'll die as well so let's go out in a blaze and with our fates in our hands!" He thrust up his arm soon after and roared.
The little group roared and thrust their arms, and I and Lucy were compelled to do the same.
It seemed like the time for the ultimate showdown had come. To think that a bunch of invaders would be the last line against the world's most tumultuous force. Perhaps this was what the system wanted, everything has always seemed to be going the way it wanted, and frankly we were slaves to its mechanics.
'I am nothing without the system.' I thought, recalling my days prior to the arrival of the system. Oh what I would do to return to those simple uncertain times.
