The Game Merchant Who Started from the Ninja World

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Humans Can’t Defeat Fishmen!

Chapter 35: Humans Can't Defeat Fishmen!

"You're not from the Giant Tribe—you must be from the Demon Tribe, right?"

Nami muttered inwardly.

Other than demons, she couldn't think of any other beings so greedy, so skilled at manipulating people into handing over their treasure.

Fang Yi glanced at the tattoo she was deliberately trying to hide—the mark of the Arlong Pirates—and said, "Even if you gather enough ransom, Cocoyasi Village won't be saved."

Bang.

Nami punched a nearby rock.

The sharp grooves scraped her skin, blood dripping from her fingertips.

She didn't respond.

Even though the mysterious giant seemed gentle and non-threatening, all of his strange abilities proved just how powerful he was.

Otherwise, she absolutely would have smashed her fist right into his smug face.

"I don't understand what you're saying."

She took a deep breath and put on the vicious look of a pirate. "I just want to defeat Arlong and become the new ruler of that territory."

After years of moving among pirates and nobles, stealing priceless items, lying and deception had practically become second nature.

"Didn't I say it already? The Reincarnation Game can fulfill any wish. You can exchange for anything you can imagine."

Fang Yi chuckled and waved his hand.

A screen appeared, displaying two items for sale.

"These are connected to you—images from your past and future."

Still smiling, he pointed at her slightly puffed chest. "The price is the Ocean's Heart you're carrying."

"What Ocean's Heart? I don't know what that is."

Nami instinctively covered her chest.

She had boarded Otrluk's merchant ship after hearing rumors about a priceless gem—the Ocean's Heart—believed to contain the power of the sea.

It would easily sell for seven figures at auction.

She hadn't expected to be exposed.

Fear crept in. What if he took it by force?

But after a moment, she noticed he didn't seem interested in stealing it. Refusing him didn't appear to bring consequences either.

So she held her ground. "There's no such thing as past or future visions."

But her eyes stayed glued to the screen.

Damn demon…

Nami smiled sweetly, but cursed him in her heart.

She felt like a fluffy orange cat grabbed by the scruff.

Somehow, he knew her all too well.

Of the two items, [Future] tempted her the most.

Would Arlong really keep his word? Would he release the villagers after receiving the ransom?

"How could anyone show the future? That's not possible."

Still, her eyes itched with curiosity.

When she saw that [Past] only cost 1 reward point, she couldn't resist any longer. She spent 100,000 berries.

"If the past is real, then I'll consider buying the future."

She reached out and tapped [Past].

Scenes flooded her vision.

An orange-haired girl makes a desperate deal with Arlong, sets sail alone despite not even knowing how to navigate, somehow avoids drowning time after time, and scampers away from cutthroat pirates like a tiny hamster—bringing back treasure again and again.

Each trip was like dancing on a razor's edge.

The treasure she buried beneath the orange grove—stained with dark, dried blood—grew larger with every outing.

Until one final voyage—when she was selected by the Reincarnation Game.

In just five minutes,

Nami relived a lifetime of near-death experiences.

"It's real…"

She bit her lip. Her body trembled as emotions surged violently within her.

The images had captured everything—moments even she had forgotten. How did this mysterious giant know?

"It's okay. No one else can see what you just saw," Fang Yi said gently. "So… will you buy the other item?"

"I will."

Gritting her teeth, Nami exchanged the Ocean's Heart.

She had never once doubted that Arlong would keep his promise.

Not because she was naïve—but because she didn't dare to doubt.

Everyone knew what pirates were like. They lied. They killed.

Hoping a pirate would honor a deal was like believing the sun would rise in the west.

Whenever doubt crept in, she crushed it.

For years, she'd been like an ostrich with its head buried in the sand, blindly hoarding treasure—clinging to a lifeline that was destined to snap.

Now that the illusion was shattered, she finally had the courage to face it.

"Let's do it."

She whispered as the [Future] footage began.

She had gathered the ransom—100 million berries.

With a frail body that couldn't even beat a low-tier bounty pirate, she spent ten years running, bleeding, escaping betrayal and slaughter, scraping together that ransom.

Before she could deliver it to Arlong, a Navy search party arrived.

When a rodent-faced Marine named Nezumi accurately stated that there were 100 million berries hidden in the cellar, the Nami in the footage broke.

And the real Nami watching the footage broke too.

"Arlong… Arlong… ARLONG!"

She clenched her jaw to keep from sobbing, hammering the rocky ground with her fists.

In the end, she collapsed in despair.

"What do I do now, Nojiko… Gen… everyone…"

No matter how strong her heart, the future was too cruel.

Despair swallowed her whole.

"It's simple. Defeat Arlong."

A gentle voice broke through.

Nami looked up. The mysterious giant stood tall.

"You'll help me defeat Arlong?" she asked.

Humans couldn't beat fishmen.

But if this giant helped, maybe—even Arlong…

"I said I'm just a merchant," Fang Yi replied. "I sell access to the Reincarnation Game. I won't interfere. That would break the game's fairness."

"But… humans can't beat fishmen!"

Tears and snot streamed down Nami's face, her fists clenched tight.

Fang Yi reached out and softly ruffled her orange hair. "Do you remember what I said? The Reincarnation Game can fulfill any wish. You can defeat Arlong—on your own—and save everyone."

Nami had silver-tier soul potential. Her talent and growth rate were exceptional.

Fang Yi summoned a combat replay from the Pirate World. "Here. A little bonus."

On screen—

A red-haired man with one arm clashed swords with an old man covered in medical tubing.

When their weapons collided, the shockwaves split the ocean and tore the clouds apart.

"There are countless strong people in this world.

The East Blue is called the weakest sea. Arlong? He's just a loser kicked out of the Grand Line and New World."

"Trusting a pirate's word is foolish.

Only with power can you protect everyone."

The shop opened.

[Grand Swordsman Experience Capsule]: Teaches the Sword Mastery skill. Includes 5,000 XP for leveling up the skill. Price: 5,000 reward points.

Fang Yi explained: "If you want strength like that red-haired man, ten of these capsules might be enough.

Then, even with a kitchen knife, you could chop Arlong's head off."
