Chapter 77: Bounty upgrade (77)
Konoha Shinobi were having the time of their life, while Suna had lost their supply, Konoha was victorious. Possibly, how could they lose?
The Genjutsu devil to them was a hero.
Seijuro was currently being carried. He looked slightly pale—had to take some pills for that, oh well.
He would be up and ready to fight soon enough.
He was 11, he was fine.
Let's see—Genin at 10, Chunin at 11, Special Jounin at 11—what's next? Jounin at 12, and by 13 he would be in the Anbu or some shit.
Hm, that wasn't so bad.
Sure, becoming an Anbu may be a lot of responsibility, but if he could become like an Anbu captain, this would be nice—being close to the Hokage and all that stuff.
He then frowned. Hm, that wouldn't leave much family time now, would it?
He wasn't planning on being an absent dad, so maybe be an Anbu for a while, but the second his child was about to be born, leave the Anbu.
Welp, oh well. Time to pass out for a bit.
Dreamland.
Seijuro would appear somewhere. He seemed to be in a void, nothing in sight. He felt empty. He felt a very deep emptiness.
He couldn't move, he couldn't see, none of his senses were working properly. He was just left in limbo.
Then, suddenly, his eyes 'opened', yet his sight was blurry.
The only thing he could see was something silver.
Then... it all faded to black, as if all of this was a part of his imagination.
Seijuro's eyes fluttered open once more. This time, he was laying in a tent—his tent. His head hurt just a little bit.
He slowly got up from his bed. He felt a bit groggy, his vision blurry for a while, then eventually, it was all clear.
He groaned a bit. Hm, he didn't think it was that hard. His body wasn't weak due to a chakra-related problem, mostly something to do with his body needing to get used to the radiation that was Tailed Beast chakra.
Well, he didn't care much. He was in Suna right now. The One-Tail was, in fact... prime real estate.
Though, he did not have the chakra to do such a thing, nor the power, really.
Guess Aizen Sōsuke would need some more power. Maybe the Three-Tail.
Currently, the beast had no host whatsoever. If Kiri had a perfect host for it, it would have shown itself by now instead of letting the White Fang of Konoha run circles around Kiri right now.
Anyway, now that he was up—
Seijuro got out of his bed. Standing up, he looked around, finding his Konoha headband. He made sure to wrap it around his hand, taking in a deep breath. He took his sword, slowly placing it in its sheath.
He made his way toward a mirror, where he observed his face. There, he took care of himself—taking care of his hair and so on. With some light use of Water Ninjutsu, he got his hair wet. With some air, he got it dry, and with Lightning, he removed the sleepiness from his system.
Once his morning was done, he prepared to leave his tent. He had quite a day in front of him.
As his clone poofed away a few hundred feet away, Seijuro's gaze widened. Hm, this wouldn't be good.
Oh well.
Getting out of his tent, he had to blink several times as the sun absolutely blinded the fuck out of him. Eventually, his eyes got used to the light.
Several ninja could be seen working around, and not as many people could be seen in the medic area. Well, wasn't that an improvement.
As he walked around the camp, he noticed how people looked at him—like he was some sort of hero.
He wasn't. He truly didn't feel like one. He stole the chakra of a Tailed Beast and he was planning to do a lot more things to find out the truth of this world.
Maybe next time he met a Bijū, he would actually try and speak with them.
Hm. Maybe. Who knows.
He felt like he had the personality of two people, yet at the same time, if he used the second, much darker personality a lot more, someone would keep him in check. He didn't know why. It was like an ingrained feeling in his bones that told him that.
As if some god was keeping tabs on his life.
He didn't mind, however. Making his way toward where Tsunade was, he could hear the whispers.
"Isn't that him?"
"He looks very young."
"Weren't you there, dumbass? You saw him too."
"I heard he was the main reason the mission was completed."
"Didn't you hear? He became a Special Jounin at 11. At this rate, he might become a Jounin at 12."
"And here I am, a Genin at 20... life is not fair."
"Hey, look on the good side. Your wife is very good with her hands. At least you're winning somewhere."
"How the fuck do you know that?"
Seijuro ignored the brawl that was about to happen and made his way toward where Tsunade was.
Appearing in front of the commander tent, the Jounin would see Seijuro and would let him pass after taking his paper and checking all the info was right.
Couldn't be too safe in here.
The second Seijuro stepped foot inside, he felt himself being grabbed.
"My favorite student, how are you doing?" she said with a beaming smile. She was planning something. He just knew it.
"I am fine. My chakra has healed to full, and the seal will take roughly five days to return to full capacity," Seijuro said politely.
"Good," she said, smiling.
"Feeling any aftereffects from the seal opening?" she asked. His head had not left where she had placed it. A lot of men would wish to be held like that by someone of Tsunade's figure, yet, he didn't feel anything.
"Apart from a light headache, I feel fine," he said calmly.
She was glad to know that.
She also noted down his limits—he could hold roughly 300 shinobi for five minutes before he was drained.
Still very good.
She knew the reason he was drained was simple—Seijuro was quite precise with his Genjutsu, so before he placed someone in one, he analyzed practically everything to make the Genjutsu feel as real as possible.
While yes, he could just cast one massive Genjutsu and be able to hold it for a while without having to put all his mental processing into making the Genjutsu feel real—
She knew her student, and she knew he was a perfectionist.
Speaking of which—
"I have some good news," Tsunade said, beaming.
"That you will stop gambling?" he said with an expression devoid of emotion.
"And how would that be good news?" Her eyes were blazing with righteous emotions.
"I choose silence," Seijuro said calmly. He was not finna handle that.
"Good," she said, cracking her knuckles.
She handed him a Bingo Book.
Seijuro opened it.
Wonder what's so important.

He specializes in high-level Genjutsu layering, perception distortion, and targeted psychological breakdowns. Victims often cannot discern what is real even after the battle is over. Combined with Earth-style countermeasures and a refined Kenjutsu style rumored to integrate illusions, Seijuro's combat presence creates a paralysis effect in enemy squads—hesitation, miscommunication, and friendly fire are frequent results of encounters with him.
Even seasoned Jōnin have fallen to ambushes after incorrectly identifying clones, terrain, or allies under his Genjutsu.

– Excerpt from updated Suna Field Manual, Section: "Phantom Encounters"
⚔️ Special Mention – Katana: "Kyōka Suigetsu"
DO NOT LOOK AT THE BLADE.
DO NOT LOOK AT THE REFLECTION.
DO NOT FOCUS ON IT.
"Kyōka Suigetsu"—literally Mirror Flower, Water Moon—is believed to be a Genjutsu catalyst. Field reports indicate that visual fixation upon the blade, even for a split second, is the primary trigger for Seijuro's most advanced Genjutsu techniques. These illusions are perfectly layered, rendering targets unable to discern anything—friend from foe, solid ground from open air, their own bodies from his traps.
Upon reading that last detail, Seijuro almost smiled...
Hahahahahaha, it fucking worked.
A/N For those who forget, he doesnt need to say that whole stuff, he doesnt need the blade, his plan the whole time was making the world believe he needed the blade to use his kekkei genkai effectively.
He in fact didn't need it.
I did say his control over his kekkei genkai was basically perfect, shit wouldnt be perfect if he needed a blade to use it.
