Chapter 5: Saicera: The Golden City of Legends
In a grand city that seemed like a magical tapestry woven with threads of sun and gold—"Saicera," the jewel of the kingdoms, the beating heart of civilization, where antiquity and innovation intertwined in a mesmerizing harmony.
From the high balconies of the royal palace, one could behold Saicera shimmering under the sunlight, as if a piece of the sky had fallen to earth. Its sandstone buildings reflected golden hues at sunrise, while at night, they glowed beneath the lights of torches and oil lamps.
The main streets stretched like vast arteries, branching into narrow alleys paved with polished stones, where people moved in harmony amidst bustling markets. At every corner, merchants displayed their goods—intricately woven fabrics, spices exuding captivating aromas, and finely crafted jewelry of breathtaking detail.
At the heart of the city stood the Golden Temple of Ra, one of the greatest centers of worship, its gilded domes glistening under the sun's rays.
In front of the temple, the Square of the Priests extended, where high priests performed sacred rituals, surrounded by towering columns inscribed with hieroglyphic texts narrating ancient legends.
Not far from the temple stood the Grand Library of the Sacred Inscriptions, home to the rarest and most enigmatic scrolls. It was said that some of its texts had remained unread for centuries, hidden from the eyes of ordinary mortals.
Encircling the royal palace was an immense wall carved with depictions of past kings' victories. At its corners stood towering guard towers adorned with colossal Sphinx statues, their watchful gazes fixed on all who entered or left the city.
The city was divided into distinct districts, each with its own character:
The Nobles' Quarter: Luxurious villas with rooftops covered in fruit-bearing trees, and inner courtyards adorned with fountains and statues.
The Artisans' Quarter: A hub of creativity where sculptors and weavers crafted statues and textiles, their hammering blending with the melodies of musicians in the squares.
The Lower District: A labyrinth of intertwining alleys, where tightly packed houses stood, a different life pulsating in the shadows—traders, adventurers, and mercenaries gathering in various taverns.
Crystal-clear canals flowed through the city, serving as a means of transporting goods and merchants in boats adorned with sacred symbols. Massive stone bridges connected different parts of the city, each bridge engraved with reliefs depicting historical events or legends.
At the heart of Saicera stood the Black Pyramid, a unique structure that merged past and future. Unlike the pyramids of old, it had dark glass tiers that reflected the sky, with colossal staircases carved into stone leading to a hidden entrance accessible only to the chosen ones.
Rumors whispered that this pyramid was not merely a royal tomb but a gateway to unknown secrets, where the greatest treasures—and the most perilous curses—were kept.
By day, the city teemed with life—people buying, selling, dancing, and celebrating.
At night, the atmosphere transformed into sacred rituals, with priests lighting torches in temples as hymns and chants filled the air.
Yet, in the darkest hours… legends spoke of strange whispers near the pyramid, of streets that vanished and reappeared as if the city itself harbored a secret yet to be uncovered.
