the golden inscription

Chapter 6: A Princess in the Twilight of Fate

The golden sunlight bathed Saicera in its warm embrace as Eizaria stood on her balcony, her piercing blue eyes glowing with a violet hue, giving her an otherworldly presence that radiated both power and mystery.

Her skin, smooth and slightly dusky, contrasted with the gleam of her jewelry and the surrounding light.

Her long black hair, styled elegantly with straight-cut bangs, was adorned with delicate golden ornaments that dangled gracefully, exuding an air of royal splendor.

She wore large circular earrings encrusted with dazzling blue gemstones, alongside an exquisite necklace featuring golden elements and crystalline blue stones that reflected the light—her last keepsake from her mother.

Her royal white gown, adorned with golden accents, seemed to merge seamlessly with the sunlight. With side slits revealing her legs, it granted her an aura that balanced both power and femininity. The attire bore a distinctly Pharaonic style, complemented by a flowing cloak draped over her shoulders, adding a touch of dramatic elegance to her presence.

A grand golden collar covered much of her shoulders and chest, its design reflecting the intricate artistry of ancient Pharaohs.

Her wrists were wrapped in multiple golden bangles, and her feet were adorned with elegant golden sandals that shimmered as they caught the surrounding light.

She gazed upon the capital of the kingdom, stretching before her like a celestial masterpiece woven from light and grandeur.

The city gleamed like a forgotten kingdom suspended between time—where tiered pyramids stood alongside crystalline towers, where narrow lantern-lit alleys intertwined with towering temples surrounded by hanging gardens. The water canals, known as the veins of civilization, mirrored the torches hanging from ornate bridges, while the melody of flutes resonated through the bustling markets.

But nothing in the city held more mystery than the Black Pyramid—the enigmatic structure whispered about in countless tales, yet none dared venture too close.

It felt… alive, its dark walls absorbing light as if it were a portal to another world, a realm hidden within the folds of shadow.

Her contemplation was interrupted by a familiar voice.

"My Lady Eizaria, His Majesty the Pharaoh requests your presence in the royal court... immediately."

She turned slowly, her glowing eyes meeting those of Sakara, her loyal handmaiden.

There was something odd in her tone—a faint hesitation, uncharacteristic of her usual composure.

"Sakara, what is it?"

Sakara hesitated for a moment, then whispered almost inaudibly,

"The High Priest Kha-em-Ra had a vision last night… and he says it concerns you."

Eizaria's expression did not change, but her heart pounded with an unfamiliar rhythm.

"A vision?"

Sakara nodded, then glanced around cautiously, as if afraid the walls themselves might be listening.

"He said the stars have shifted positions… that the Pharaoh's eye no longer sees as it once did… and that the key now lies in the hands of someone who does not yet understand its true value."

A chill ran through Eizaria's spine, as if fate itself had whispered a warning.

Without another word, she turned and strode toward the royal hall, unaware that this night would mark the beginning of something… irreversible.

She halted and asked, "Did you hear anything else?"

"I don't know, my lady… but ever since the High Priest arrived, the Pharaoh's expression has changed. As if he has heard something that will alter everything."

Eizaria remained silent for a moment before continuing her steady yet resolute pace through the royal corridors, where massive columns stood like sentinels guarding the palace's secrets.

The walls bore carvings depicting the ancestors' tales, while flaming torches cast shifting shadows upon the polished floors—welcoming her or warning her of what lay ahead.

When she reached the throne chamber, she sensed an almost palpable tension in the air, as if an unseen force coursed through the room.

At the center, Pharaoh Hor-Mesphis sat upon his golden throne, his eyes—laden with wisdom and secrecy—fixated on her.

His royal crown gleamed under the flickering flames, yet today, it seemed heavier than ever.

Beside him stood High Priest Kha-em-Ra, an aura of unease surrounding him, his expression betraying a concealed dread.

"You came swiftly, as I expected. Did your handmaiden tell you of the vision?" the Pharaoh's voice was calm, yet carried an undertone that made her heartbeat quicken.

She gave him a graceful nod and sat beside him, tilting her head slightly in the manner she often did when sensing that something far greater lay behind the words spoken.

"Yes, father, she told me."

The Pharaoh fell silent for a brief moment, as if searching for the right words.

Then he spoke.

"Something else happened at the temple last night, Eizaria."

He paused again before continuing,

"One of the temple servants, while passing near the sacred chamber where the Golden Inscription is kept, saw a blue light flicker from within."

Eizaria's eyes narrowed slightly, as if an unspoken puzzle was forming in her mind.

And at that moment, she knew.

This was no coincidence.

And the clock… had begun to tick.
