Chapter 232: Today, The Defeat of Artemis
Seven days later, the great gates of the Temple of Artemis slowly opened, and Luo En, responsible for "reporting on duty," stepped over the dim hall and stood on the outer steps, lazily stretching his limbs and basking in the long-missed sunlight.

As someone stepped across the threshold, the temple's doors slammed shut and several defensive charms also lit up behind them, as if the people inside were building a fortress, trying to hide from some flood or savage beast.
Hearing the loud noise behind him, Luo En turned back and through the crack of the door saw a figure on the carpet with their buttocks raised high, trembling legs, and a slight smile curving up at the corners of his mouth, indicating his pleasure.
The desire of the [Goat], combined with the energy of the [Warrior], the love authority of the [Rose], and the life-restoration of the [Crown]... Four incarnations used in rotation. Even the wildest goddess of Greece could only endure for five days before she lay face down, clutching her buttocks and begging for mercy.
Of course, the remaining two days were not wasted either.
Luo En raised his hand and a longbow with a black handle and golden and silver patterns embedded between materialized in his grasp.
"Its source is light, its form is flame. O deathless Sun, bestow upon me thy dazzling steeds, bring forth the golden radiance, pierce through the stars, punish the wicked, and bring death to the living!"
As he drew the bowstring, Luo En intoned the Holy Word solemnly, and behind him, the Golden Disk appeared, its pointer turning to the ninth slot. A magnificent [White Horse], neighing with hooves raised, charged into the sun hanging mid-air like an arrow released from a bow.
Instantly, the eastern sky burst into brilliance, and the morning sun, freshly risen above the horizon, became dazzling and intense. The originally intangible sunlight transformed into substantial flames, gathering on the drawn bowstring and forming brilliant, golden arrows.
Luo En drew the bowstring taut, and at the moment when the atmosphere reached its peak, released the fingers of his right hand, declaring solemnly,
"Thou art—the Piercing Star of Gold!"
"Whizz!"
The arrow tore through the air, resonating with the heavens and earth.
Golden flames raised a terrifying wind, striking a distant hill.
"Boom!"
The next moment, the earth shook and the hill trembled as a golden brilliance instantaneously pierced through the entire hillside, and the flames of punishment burst forth, melting the surrounding rocks.
The hill continuously collapsed and cracked open, and red-hot lava flowed from the terrible [wound] in the hillside, extinguishing and burning all life in its path, leaving behind only the ashes of devastation.
Watching the forest fire raging in the distance, Luo En slightly raised his hand, and a blue [Great Whale] materialized behind him, leaping out and sweeping up the water vapor from the river along the way, dousing the fire in the affected area and swiftly containing the emergency.
Yet even so, a hill of nearly a hundred meters had been cleaved in half, with a deep pit resembling a meteorite's impact still emitting billowing steam.
Such destructive power!
Luo En marveled inwardly, then slightly turned his head to look at the neighing [White Horse] in the ninth slot of the golden wheel and the tightly closed temple gates behind him, a wry smile spreading across his face.
This was the result of his and Artemis's efforts over the last two days.
—The ninth incarnation, [White Horse].
Utilizing the concept of the [Sun Chariot], summoning the [White Horse] that carries the sun's might to enhance his attacks, or to directly bring down the sun's fierce flames upon the target for long-range bombardment.
While this ability had astonishing power, its downside was rather apparent.
This incarnation could basically only be used on sunny days and during daylight hours, otherwise, it couldn't exert its normal effects.
In the same vein, his fourth incarnation which drew from his moon and huntress divinity, [Wild Boar], also had the same limitation—only displaying the greatest combat strength at night and in mountainous regions.
However, he now had as many as nine divine incarnations, giving him many cards to play, and the usage restrictions of a single incarnation were having less and less of an impact on him.
Moreover, he still had the ace up his sleeve—[The Primordial One], the Phanes incarnation, which allowed the fusion of multiple divine incarnations, so he had even less to worry about running out of moves during a battle.
As Luo En was lost in thought, a green figure darted through the branches and leaped nimbly out of the dense forest, lightly landing in front of the temple.
"Teacher, have you come out? Have you finished reporting your work?"
"Yeah."
Luo En looked at Atalanta before him and nodded with a smile.
Immediately after, Atalanta turned her head to look at the distant hill that had been cleft by an arrow, her eyes filled with shock.
"Just now, was that your doing?"
"Yes, I used this bow."
Luo En answered with a smile, lifting the longbow in his hand that bore a black back and gold threads.
"So impressive!"
Atalanta expressed her sincere admiration, her green eyes intently fixed on the uniquely designed and distinctive longbow in her teacher's hand, brimming with envy.
She excelled in rapid shots and had never seen a bow and arrow capable of causing such extensive damage and destruction.
It seemed that to unleash the terrifying power of Star Shatterer as earlier, not only was the archer's own strength crucial but also the longbow capable of withstanding such force was likely an extraordinary divine artifact.
"Take it!"
As the huntress was pondering to herself, Luo En raised his hand and tossed the longbow into his student's arms.
Atalanta instinctively caught the divine bow and then came to her senses, slightly stunned.
"This?"
"Of course, it's for you. Archery isn't my strongest suit."
Luo En replied with a light smile and then recounted the origins of the divine bow.
"This is called 'Bow of the Heavens' (Tauropolos), a divine artifact I've been blessing together with Artemis in the temple these days. It has two forms.
The first, you can control the trajectory of arrows with magic power, and combined with your rapid shot skills, you can exert greater combat strength;
The second, when the bow is drawn fully, the arrows' destructive power increases. If you continue to inject magic power, the performance of the destruction can be further enhanced. Combined with specific techniques of charged shots, it can even shatter gold and stone, penetrating divine bodies."
Atalanta listened intently, lovingly cradling the divine bow in her hands, pointed towards the distant mountain peak that had been cleaved, and excitedly asked.
"Is it the technique from earlier?"
"Yes, its name is 'Piercing Star of Gold,' and unlike 'Rapid Shot of Silver' that seeks agility and swiftness, it's a technique for charged heavy strikes, a new combo that Artemis and I have recently developed."
Luo En explained its origins and then switched the topic.
"However, considering your current level, you're not yet able to unleash the full power of the Bow of the Heavens, so I've added some assistive features to this divine artifact."
"What features?"
"See the gold and silver threads on the back of the bow? Entombed within are parts of Artemis's and my divinity, which can summon the corresponding divine power of the Sun and the Moon, reducing your magic power consumption during battle. Ordinarily, this bow, with Artemis's and my divine power, can harness the brilliance of the sun during the day and absorb the moon's divine power at night for regular storage of magic power to meet any emergencies."
"That powerful?"
"Certainly. To create a weapon that suits you, neither Artemis nor I spared any effort and energy. In fact, Artemis even contributed her own battle bow she'd used before."
Hearing her teacher's explanation, Atalanta's heart surged with excitement, cherishing the 'Bow of the Heavens' as a most precious treasure.
"The original form of this bow was used by Artemis before? Where is she? I want to thank her in person!"
Watching a certain cat lady bypass him, vividly excited, and head straight for the temple gate, Luo En's eyelid twitched, and he quickly reached out to pull her back.
"Enough, your thanks have been heard by Artemis. She is a bit tired now and needs to rest properly."
"Oh, then when do we set off?"
"Right away."
"Shouldn't we say goodbye to Artemis?"
"No need!"
Seeing Atalanta reach for the temple door once again, Luo En quickly grabbed the cat lady who had been enticed by curiosity and, without further ado, dragged her away.
