The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 656: 107

The snake-footed giant, Perros!

In the stone forest, the Argo heroes who had been frustrated by a single blow swiftly recognized the identity of the giant spirit with the faint glow of the fluorite.

Before the battle began, to know the enemy and know oneself, the Memory Goddess Mnemosyne had once opened the [Book Library] of the Temple of Memory, spreading knowledge about the origins and composition of the Cottus clan to the humans, heroes, and deities involved in the Battle of Thessaly.

According to the records in the [Divine Chronicle] of the Temple of Memory, there are legitimately 150 giant spirits who count as pure-blooded members of the Cottus clan.

Originally, the incessant copulating desire of Heavenly Father Uranus brought considerable pain to the Mother Goddess Gaea, so she conspired with the Twelve Titans to overthrow Uranus' suppression. Ultimately, her youngest son Kronos castrated Uranus with a scythe, and Uranus' divine blood splashed onto Gaea, leading to the birth of the Cottus clan.

By lineage, these giant spirits are the pure offspring of the Goddess of the Earth, Gaea, and Heavenly Father Uranus; although they were not born from the traditional means of reproduction, their combat gifts and divine power are only slightly inferior to the Twelve Titans and the three Hundred-Handed Giants.

Among these 150 individuals, the most outstanding of the giant spirits numbered 13, with 10 becoming the soul vessels for Divine King Kronos and the nine Titan Main Gods, capable of competing with the Chief Gods of Olympus on the battlefield.

And the remaining 3, while they had no Chief God status, were much stronger than the average Cottus giant spirits and Olympian deities.

The snake-footed giant before them, Perros, was one of these three.

"A hybrid spawned from Olympus and humanity? Such a delectable scent!"

The snake-footed giant eyed the Argo heroes who had intruded into the underground palace, his crimson forked tongue licking his lips while his pitch-black vertical pupil revealed a greedy, vicious smile. He immediately swung his thick, black snake tail, launching an attack on the feast before him.

For the giant spirits, battle, slaughter, and consuming divine blood from their prey were the most effective means of growth. And each of these little mice before him emitted a strong divine energy—almost like exquisite supplements delivered right to their doorstep.

Seeing the monster rushing in like the wind, Atalanta pulled a divine rune arrow, carefully crafted by the God of Craftsmanship, from her quiver. At the same time, she drew her bow of the heavens taught, channeling the fierce power from the moon goddess Artemis's other side into the arrow in torrents.

"Burning Shadow, Moon-Backed Arrow—Dark Sky Eclipse Shot!"

Boom!

In an instant, a sharp purple-red light arrow whistled forward, the surging divine power shattered the stone wall dome, and dozens of stout stone pillars broke off at the roots, crashing down into the stone forest like a barrage of sharp long spears.

For a moment, the magic beasts and giants attacking Hercules were either impaled by falling stone pillars or forced back by the splintering gravel.

But such an attack was little more than a tickle for that snake-footed giant.

The hardened stone pillars and the spraying magic flow struck his body, only to be easily deflected by the pitch-black scales covering his figure, leaving behind only shallow white dots and indentations.

Meanwhile, the belly of the snake-footed giant racing forward contracted, and his throat writhed, as a large mass of dark green poison liquid suddenly spewed from his mouth, pouring down over the Argo heroes' camp.

"Sizzle Sizzle!"

Amidst an ear-piercing hiss, like hot oil hitting water, the hastily erected magic barriers by Medea and Helen were quickly melted through, and the dark green poison took advantage to cascade downward.

Fortunately, the magic proficiency of Medea and Helen gave everyone time to react. Seeing the terrible corrosive nature of this fierce toxin, they immediately dodged out of its way.

But as the poison hit the ground, thick green poisonous mists rose instantaneously.

Several of the nearby Argo heroes who accidentally inhaled a breath suddenly felt dizzy and saw darkness before their eyes.

And the Divine Blood Guards from Thessaly who had covered their retreat into the underground, with even weaker resistance, touched it and immediately blood spurted from all seven apertures as their skin ulcerated, screaming in agony as they fell to the ground.

"Bang! Bang!"

Seeing the situation turning grim, the Medicine God promptly took out two jugs filled with a strong detoxification agent from his bag and threw them into the rapidly spreading dark green poison mist. This purified the terrible venom.

However, several of the Divine Blood Guards who had been unfortunate to get poisoned were already beyond saving, with toxins deep in their organs.

Their limbs twisted and spasmed, continuously scratching all over, until they tore open their own skin and flesh and pulled out their insides, ending their own lives by their own hands, and only then did a sense of relief spread across their faces twisted into the extreme of agony.

The sight made everyone shudder.

When Hercules saw the tragic scene behind him, his heart sank.

The first casualties had appeared…

Although he had always understood that this expedition deep into enemy territory was fraught with peril, and that the heroes participating in it faced the danger of losing their lives at any moment, when disaster struck, Hercules still felt unbearable and angry.

"Bastard! You're courting death!"

Roaring in anger, Hercules drew the nameless axe sword from behind him, and his divine power surged explosively, instantly forming nine fierce slashes.

"Spurt! Spurt! Spurt! Spurt!"

Groups of blood mist burst from the body of the snake-footed giant Perros, who screamed as he collapsed to the ground.

As a professional snake killer, Hercules aimed straight for the vitals as soon as he struck, choosing targets like the head, lower abdomen, heart, spine, and other fatal weak points of snake-like divine monsters.

Normally, your typical snake-like divine monster would head straight to Hades after taking such a hit.

However, after those nine consecutive slashes, the snake-footed giant who had been nearly chopped into pieces, incredibly shook himself and rose to his feet, his broken spine resetting automatically, his shattered heart regenerating, and his torn flesh rapidly healing.
