Chapter 5: Merchants Spoils
"How can I cultivate than?" Ryker questions hurriedly [the host can buy new and better roots or physiques on the store] quickly scanning down the store, he finds them under a section called spirit roots: dirt 100, stone 125, earth 500, sky 2,000, cloud 25,000, heaven 150,000, space 1,250,000.
Looking at the price of the highest level root, he gulps, wondering if he will ever make that much. Looking at his current balance of 24.8 makes his heart a little hesitant to buy anything else until he has at least one root. Deciding it's best to close the app, Ryker tries to distract himself with something else, deciding to grab a snack, he gets off the stool and walks to the shelves.
Coming back with an apple, a banana, and a soda, before giving the turtle the banana and munching on the apple himself, the cool crack and hiss from the can sounds delightful drinking in bliss he almost forgets to welcome the new face that walks into the store "hmp, welcome to the hypermarket!" Ryker says in his happy induction voice, the short, roundish, and extremely well-dressed boy sighs, "Your shop is as bare as a fishes ass," he says, looking at the three or so products in his view
Begging a little taken aback by his rudeness, "Well, we just opened and haven't gotten all of our products yet, we're testing the area before sending more in." Ryker comes up with a small lie quickly while dropping his happy-go-lucky tone.
'"Scoff, you think that's any way to talk to a customer? Well here..." The kid reaches into his pocket before throwing a bag on the counter. The clinging and clacking of coins inside make it obvious it won't even buy a single product. "I'll buy your subpar store out so we can open our own branch here, the interior is so unique," the brat scuffs his shoe across the gray tile as he looks at the tube lighting.
"Sorry kid, the store's not for sale, even if it was, that wouldn't be enough, it's not even enough to buy a product here," Ryker says, looking into the bag and seeing mostly silver coins with a few gold coins at the top. Getting red in the face, looking like a bloated fish that was cross-bred with a tomato, he yells, "Do you know who I am! That's my whole allowance for this month and last month! You should be happy I even visited your store!"
[hostile intent shown, isolation needed?]
Nodding his head and looking down at the turtle as he pets it, "Listen, kid, I don't have time to work with your spoiled ass or to care about it, now you have a week long ban from my store" expecting the kid to start yelling Ryker looks up and sees the kid unmovieng in a transparent room sroundinging him as a formless hand covering his mouth "now get out"
As Ryker says that the box moves to the door a little uncanny as the kid moves like a t-poseing block of human flesh with broken physics before being thrown out the door. Sighing and looking down at the sack that was still on the table, he takes a gold coin before throwing the bag out at the kid. "Good riddens," Ryker goes back to sipping on the Dr. Salt he had opened a little bit ago, clicking on the broom and mop, watching as the small robot comes to clean the scuff marks the kid made and the dirt he tracked in.
The rest of this and the next day pass in a blur of nothingness, no one coming in to buy from the store or to talk to, besides the turtle. Until that magical moment happened for Ryker when someone new comes in, "Welcome to the hypermarket!" Ryker welcomes Zor and an older man who's standing beside him, "Hello Ryker, I brought our Lieutenant after he saw me and Tethorth," he quickly gestures to the man standing beside him
Giving a slight bow as he introduces himself, "Hello, master Ryker, I am Jatt Chosk, but everyone in the order calls me Sir Chosk." Looking around, he spots the apples before hurrying over. "You really do have solar apples." Looking back at Ryker, he sees the rules posted on the sign behind him and grabs four before grabbing a Dr. Salt as well.
"Sir, may I ask when you'll be getting more items in your store, because I can see from the items you have and what I heard from the boys, they would greatly help the knight order in increasing our youth's strengths," Sir Chosk asks putting the fruit and drink on the counter "and... may i put in a bulk order for the knight order? Because it would be a hassle if each page or squire had to come themself"
Thinking for a few moments and deciding what to do, break his rule of only a maximum of four of the same item for a day, or making a lot of income by selling a bulk supply "well, Sir Crosk the main reason for the rule is beouces i dont want someone to buy out the hole stock i have for a day. But I'll make a new rule where you can buy for groups at the end of the day at a max of 50 items," Ryker says, remembering there are three boxes or bags of each item that reset each day. Scanning the items and accepting five qi stones from him as he grabs a bag that appears and packs them up "you have a left over balance of two"
"Great, I will send the boys over with the money for the apples and coconuts tonight," Sir Chosk says, walking out the door with Zor in tow. The day goes by in a blur, the only thing really happening is the addition of rule 7, bulk buying happens before store closing and can only be purchased for organizations, not for resale. Waiting for the boys to come, he drums his fingers along the counter, the sun starts setting, the turtle lazily lies sprawled out a half-eaten banana in front of it.
Until that ding shakes both of them out of their daydreaming, with Zor and Trthorth walking through the door, a case handcuffed to Tethorth's wrist, "we came by on the order of the captain to buy the bulk set of coconuts and apples." opening the case makes the room glow with a soft blue light.
