The Insights of the Gods, Deducing the Forbidden Spells at Hogwarts

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Snape, Are You Hiding Something from Me?

Dumbledore didn't care whether Professor McGonagall was upset.

At the moment, he was completely immersed in the excitement of the cultivation principles written by Charlie.

Of course

He had no idea that this had anything to do with Charlie.

Over the years, Dumbledore had occasionally kept an eye on Charlie and Harry, but his primary concern was to observe their living conditions, whether they were happy and growing up healthy.

As long as their lives had no major issues, that was enough for Dumbledore.

After all, once they turned eleven, they would receive their Hogwarts acceptance letters.

By then, both little ones would be living right under his watchful eye.

But right now, the most important thing

Was to have a conversation with Snape.

This genius idea was simply too exciting.

It wasn't long before Dumbledore arrived at Snape's office door.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

Dumbledore rapped on the door.

"Come in."

Dumbledore then slowly pushed the door open.

Though he appeared elderly and frail, his movements were unhurried yet deliberate.

"Severus, I think we should have a chat," Dumbledore said.

Snape seemed to have anticipated Dumbledore's visit.

He poured him a cup of tea.

"I assume you're here because of the article in Magical Research, correct?"

Snape was direct.

"Oh, yes. You're certainly straightforward, talking to you always saves a lot of unnecessary trouble."

"That research wasn't done by me," Snape stated.

"I proposed some theoretical ideas."

"But the key breakthrough and that intricate cultivation method"

"That's not something I came up with."

Snape was honest.

Indeed

Those intricate cultivation methods

Every tiny movement of magic, the duration of its stagnation, its circulation through the body, all of it…

Everything was incredibly intricate.

One misstep, and it would be impossible to complete.

Snape absolutely could not claim this research as his own.

"Hmm."

Dumbledore didn't seem surprised, he merely nodded.

He was well aware of how valuable the content in Magical Research was.

Even if he were to resign as Headmaster and fully dedicate himself to magical academia, he doubted he could achieve such results.

His assumption was that this research likely came from an ancient, long-lost text, which someone had studied, perfected, and then published.

"Do you want to know who shared this research with me?"

Snape asked directly once again.

This time, Dumbledore didn't respond.

But the way he looked at Snape had already provided the answer.

That's right.

I'm here to find out who wrote it.

"I'm sorry, Albus. I can't tell you. Please respect my decision."

Snape shook his head.

"Is there no room for negotiation, Severus?"

Dumbledore wasn't ready to give up.

"No, Albus. You know my temperament."

A long silence followed before Dumbledore finally stood up.

"What a shame. I had hoped to discuss a few matters with this master of magic."

"It seems you all have your reasons, I was being presumptuous."

"Severus, I respect your decision. Thank you for your time. I have work to do."

Snape nodded.

Dumbledore was a man of principle.

Since he had chosen not to press further, he likely wouldn't interfere or monitor Snape in the future.

Snape knew that much.

"Oh, by the way, I heard you recently visited Charlie. How's the little one doing?"

Dumbledore suddenly changed the subject.

Snape's brow furrowed slightly, but he quickly relaxed.

"I just went to check on how he's doing. After all, he's living in an orphanage."

"He's fine, his life there is decent."

"The orphanage treats him well."

Snape replied calmly.

"Oh, that's good. I haven't visited him in years."

Dumbledore smiled.

"Just between you and me, Charlie's magical talent is quite remarkable."

"You might want to guide him a little in the future."

Snape was shocked, but his expression remained unchanged.

Could Dumbledore be suspicious?

Impossible.

Who would ever connect such groundbreaking research to a child like Charlie?

"I'll handle it as I see fit."

Snape said indifferently.

"Thank you, you're as kind as ever."

Dumbledore nodded, then left Snape's office.

For just a brief moment

He had caught a flicker of change in Snape's expression.

And suddenly, a terrifying thought flashed through his mind

Could this research be connected to young Charlie?

But almost immediately, he dismissed the idea.

That's ridiculous.

No matter how astonishing Charlie was nine years ago…

He hasn't had any exposure to magic since then.

As far as Dumbledore knew, Charlie wasn't even aware of his own heritage.

At best, he was just beginning to sense magical fluctuations, probably scratching his head in confusion.

Even in the most extreme scenario

Even if Charlie had an innate abundance of magical power

It was still highly unlikely that he could produce such groundbreaking research.

This subject was incredibly profound.

Theoretical knowledge alone was immense.

It would take decades of scholarly dedication just to grasp the basics.

"Heh, I must be getting senile."

Dumbledore chuckled at his own absurd thought.

Shaking his head, he walked away.

He needed to consider extracting the system outlined in Magical Research and turning it into a curriculum for students.

That would be a great advancement for Hogwarts.

"Thank you for your contribution to the magical world and academic community."

Dumbledore whispered in his heart.

A few days passed.

Charlie had been waiting for Snape to contact him.

But day after day, there was nothing.

Finally, one day

Snape's letter arrived.
