The Last Damning of Remnant (or: How 2 OP idiots screwed the plot)

I gently hum the tune to Red Like Roses pt 1 as we walk down the street, her boots clacking against the pavement, and mine softly thumping against the dirt near the sidewalk. "what's that song?" I was startled by her voice. "huh, oh...uh...it's nothing much. just an old poem with music to it...it isn't that interesting." I wince as we pass under a street lamp, and Ruby smiles a bit. "I kinda expected a cold, broody guy...not some...dude." I snort, and give her a joking glare "A dude? I'm at least a guy, yeah?" She laughs a bit, as she shakes her head. "hey...I forgot to ask...what's your name?" I sigh again and answer while looking straight ahead. "Alex. Alexandros Umbra if you need to give someone a statement later about all this." We walk silently for a while before Ruby gently touches her shoulder to mine. "I forgive you. for killing that man...and thanks. I...I owe you I guess." I sigh, and what little is left of my nerves melt. "You owe me nothing. I couldn't just...stand and watch...that happen...I...thanks though..."

I gently elbow her arm "And hey, uhh...I forgot what I was gonna say..." She giggles at this, covering her mouth as she does. "Hey...Ruby...I'm kinda...new around here anyhow. I know next to nothing about the laws here. I mean, I'm from Vacuo." She blinks before I keep speaking. "I have no intention of learning them, really. But...what that guy said...well... what's the Age of Consent here anyway? Might be important to know before I accuse someone of being a pedo." Ruby cringes, and shakes her head. "It's 15 if a Parent agrees to let their kid date, engage, or marry. 16 otherwise...and anyone who enters a huntsman academy is considered an adult, whether they graduate or not...So...in a week or two, I'll be an adult! Oh, I'm going to Beacon by the way! I'm so excited! eheheh!" I smile at her laughter, before looking up, and seeing the moon. I recall what Jonny said, but I realize I don't really care at the moment. "So, Alex...I...you're a good friend...I uh...would you-" 

"Ruby! where were you? and...who're you?" I blink, as I realize someone had walked up behind us, and was now glaring at me. They are a woman with blonde hair, and a brown jacket, short shorts, and leather boots. It's Yang, and her eyes are still lavender, but tinged with red as she looks at the state of Ruby's clothes. "I'm Alexandros. I'm just somebody who helped her out." "Yaaaaang, c'mon it's okay Sis! he helped me out. I was-" She snarls, shoving me away and standing between us. "Shush Rubes, He's a creep." I give her a flat look. "I'll tell you exactly what happened to Ruby." Ruby's eyes widen. "Alex, Don't-" Yang puts her hand over Ruby's mouth, and glares at me as her eyes turn red. 

"Ruby was assaulted and I came across it. I stopped one from raping her. I scared the other one off." Yang's eyes go back to lavender, and then they turn so deep red I feel like I'm staring Manus in the face. Then her hair burns with gold flames as she snarls, letting go of Ruby. "WHERE IS THE BASTARD?! I'LL KILL HIM!" I sigh, weary. "I already did." Yang's hair ceases burning as her eyes soften. "Did Ruby..." I shake my head. "She saw the corpse, but not the action of me killing him." Yang groans, before relaxing. "Thank you for not...doing it RIGHT in front of her. and thanks for helping her." Ruby clings to Yang, as she sits her on her Motorbike...how did I not hear that coming? I'm...I'm tired. Damn.

Damn-wait a sec...My coat!

"You're her sister, Right?" Yang nods curtly and eyes me warily. "I see. You're both lucky. She has a good heart, I think, and you seem to be a good person. And Ruby...take care of that coat, yeah? It's the only one I've got." Ruby nods, and hugs Yang's back as Yang gets on the bike. Yang looks at me and sighs. "Thanks for helping her out. and if you ever need a favor, just find me and ask, okay?" She doesn't wait for my reply, as she drives off. I sigh and go back to where I had found Ruby. I then get a few popups.

Objective 5- make a friend (besides Jonny) 1/1 (reward type: Attire, Weapon.)

Weapon: Charred Hunter Gauntlets: Gauntlets made to provide both offense and defense. They are made of Titanite. Doubles 'unarmed' damage. Halves damage from all sources when blocked with the hands. 

Attire: Knight's set.

Head: Knight's Helm: 10% damage resistance from physical sources that hit the head.

Neck: Knight's Gorget: 10% damage resistance from physical sources that hit the neck.

Chest: Ancient chest plate & pauldrons: 10% damage resistance from physical sources that hit the chest and/or shoulders.

Arms: Knight's armguards: 10% damage resistance from physical sources that hit the arms.

Hands: Knight's gloves: 10% damage resistance from physical sources that hit the hands.

Waist: Knight's tassets: 10% damage resistance from physical sources that hit the waist or thighs.

Legs: Knight's cuisses & greaves: 10% damage resistance from physical sources that hit the legs.

Feet: Knight's sabatons: 10% damage resistance from physical sources that hit the feet.

I smile and equip the knight's set, minus the helmet, and the Hunter Gauntlets. I then walk over to the grate, open it, and crawl in, closing it back after I'm in the pipe. I drag Markie's body with me and fall back into the tunnel with it. I whine as I sit down, and try to rationalize my actions. I killed a criminal. A bad person. He had likely raped others and was going to rape a RUBY, the one who was most likely going to help save Remnant, at that!

I sigh, and fix my hair, as I get another popup

Umbra's Tome of Faith - A tome containing data about the Saiyans, half-Saiyans, and their subraces (such as ancient Saiyans) and genetic traits.

For coming to terms with it, you gain:

Absorption- lv 1 0/10: Absorb ambient from the area around you, and refine it into Auric Ki. Currently requires entering a meditation state. Restore 100 AKp per minute. ANCIENT TRAIT unlocks further abilities with Absorption. Absorb the life energy of the living or the dead, and add it onto your own to gain a reservoir of spendable healing and recovery. This also adds a small, permanent power boost.

Meditation- lv 1 0/10: Rapidly recover Hp and Sp by diffusing it from Auric ki, which is refined from ambient energy. Requires entering a meditation state. Restore 100 Hp and Sp per minute. ANCIENT TRAIT unlocks further abilities with Meditation. Can enter a meditative state while moving, but not in combat until higher levels.

For rationalizing your actions, you gain:

Auric Ki (AKp): Your internal reservoirs of Ki and Aura are melded into one. Ap becomes AKp, and the AKp amount is multiplied by 10.

Auric-Ki manipulation- Lv 1 0/10: manipulate Auric Ki inside and outside of your body. Cost varies on what you're trying to do.

"...all this for killing someone?!"

I groan as I drag him through the drain pipe.

Reward: Traits awakening

"...Oh for fucks sake...Fine. I'll defile the corpse...later." I pick up my pace hop out of the pipe, and walk back to the police station. I get there hours later, as the moon begins to set. I see Jonny walking back, and he waves. "Looks like we're both late...why are you carrying a faunus?!" I growl at the memory. "He tried to rape Ruby. I...The sin of wrath took over." "Oh." "I got A few skills and perks for it. I have Ki melded Aura now..." I groan as I drop Markie by the Wellspring.

Jonny just nods, and we head inside. He sits by the Wellspring, and I sit as well. I let my instincts guide me as I use Absorption on the corpse.

I flow my Auric Ki into the corpse, and wrap it around his fading life energy...and I begin to pull.

Unbeknownst to me, my aura turns black and red as this happens, and Markie's body contorts in a mock scream as blue and grey energy is ripped out and pulled into me. I feel the energy permeate me, being absorbed. It feels like cold fire rushing through me as the potent energy coils within my solar plexus. Hours pass as I make sure that I absorb 100% of the energy. Sometime during it, I had started screaming in agony.

"Jonny...I got a new page..." I feel my aura recede into me. It was out? Huh, odd... "nice...I'm gonna get some sleep...that was freaky man." I nod, and curl up by the wellspring, checking my traits page.

Ancient Saiyan; Umbra Clan: Alexandros is from the ancient clan of Umbra, granting him ancient Saiyan lineage. He is the son of a human male, ██████████ and an Umbra-clan Saiyan, █████ Umbra..

Silver Eyes- lv 1 0/10: Silver eyes, changed by the Ancient blood of the Umbra Clan. They can see in the dark, even if it is 100% without light. Alexander can also spend AKp to emit a bright red-tinged silver light that destroys most grimm and corrodes and petrifies grimm that survive the blast.

Dark Ki reservoir: A permanent boost of power that is unique to the Umbra Clan's Absorption ability. Gain an output amplifier equal to the number of entities that Alexandros has absorbed.

Fading Ki reservoir: A temporary pool of unstable energy that can be used to recover AKp, Hp, Sp, or to empower abilities or use powers.

True Saiyan Soul: Alexandros's soul is that of a Saiyan! Grants Zenkai, or 'Full Recovery', which takes effect when below 25% hp. This increases his durability and healing factor and boosts his power when he fully heals. Power boost is dependent on what happened to hurt him. Zenkai does not happen when 'healed' by magic that 'restores' a soul shape. (Wellspring, Aura, maiden powers.)

Saiyan's Pride: Alexandros's pride mixes with his Wrath, and anything that debases him triggers 'The Sin of Wrath' in a lowered state. Insults that 'hit home' do the same.

"...so I got some boosts and a detriment...that's fair."

With those words, I drift off to sleep.
