"[Yes]." the book turns into a whisp of red that shoots into me, and I wince a bit as my mind is filled with basic fighting knowledge. My body also is sore suddenly, though it fades after a moment. I see another popup.

Objective 3- learn how to fight 1/1 (reward type: offense buff)

I put it on, and grin as my aura amps up by a bit. "Thank you, Jonny." I smile warmly, and he nods, and we bump fists. I walk out of the cell, and smile up at the sky, as I turn back to Jonny. "I found a discreet, easy way into the City. In the tunnels near the base of the mountain, at the end of the straight-ahead path, is a drain pipe that leads to a large grate into an alleyway."

Jonny nods. "I'm gonna go see if I can't apply us to Beacon. Wanna come?" "hell yeah!" I walk with him to the pipe, and I jump up and in, and I hear him do the same. I crawl forward, push the grate open, and crawl out. I help Jonny get up and out as well and close the grate behind us as we leave the alley. We walk the street, and people give us odd looks but mostly leave us alone. I ignore them until we reach a city map board. "oh neat." I trace the path to the library, and we walk to it, taking an hour due to us being on foot.

When we get there, I spot 2 familiar people. A short, orange-haired girl, and a tall, slim, black-haired boy with a pink lock of hair. Jonny notices them too, but they quickly enter the building, and we follow. We enter the massive library, with huge amounts of books and bookshelves. We get close enough to hear the conversation the boy is having with the librarian. "Ma'am? Are the computers here free to use? and do they have access to the Beacon Application site?" "Oh, they sure are free to use, for prospective students. But they can only either look into available books or that site alone." I gesture to Jonny to follow as we walk over to the corner of the library, where 4 computers are set up. I jiggle the mouse, and the computer monitor lights up. I click on the widget that is the Beacon icon, and an application form pops up.

We both hit submit, and I smile as it goes through. I then see a link to the 'Accepted Students' site pop up. I click it, and I see the whole first-year roster. I see 2 groups: 'Pending' and 'Accepted'.

I watch in real-time as Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie upload their applications, and I blink as the computer screen dims and brightens for a moment, and my face and Jonny's face appear on our profiles. I frown for a moment, before I smile as My application, Jonny's application, Nora's application, and Lie's application get moved into 'Accepted'. I also take note of the time and location of the transport. 2 weeks from now, at the edge of the city, at noon.

"""Nice!""" "Good."

Me, Jonny, and Nora had said it all at once, and Lie Ren simply said 'Good'. I look at Jonny, and then at the two orphans, who look back at me. Jonny pats my shoulder "I'm going back home. We go in 2 weeks, right?" "That's right, according to the computer." "then I'm gonna go train. I'll close the grate behind me." Jonny runs off, out of the Library. ???: "Man, he left fast!" I jump out of my skin, as the orange-haired Nora Valkyrie pops up beside me. "he did" I jump again as Lie Ren appears on the other side of me.

"BUWAGH!" I jump away from them and watch as Lie Ren blinks and Nora deflates a bit. "Sorrryy." "My apologies." I sigh, and nod. "It's fine. Just...you two startled me." The two orphans look at each other, and then back at me. "once again, I'm sorry. I'm Lie Ren. Just call me Ren." "Aaaand I'm NORA!" "Nice to meet you two. I'm Alexandros. I hope to see you at Beacon." I nod politely and then turn to leave, walking away.

I head back to the Grate, and open it, going through it, and closing it behind me, before backing out of the pipe, and walking back to the station. When I get there, I look at Markie's corpse, before sitting at the wellspiring. I focus on my A-Ki (Auric Ki) and focus it into my hands. I blink as I feel my A-Ki ebb as a transparent red orb forms in my hands.

""Holy SHIT"" Me and Jonny exclaimed as we see the description. I immediately dispel the attack. I drag Markie's corpse outside, and when I'm far enough away, I blast his corpse with the attack.

The orb hits him in the chest, and blows up, creating an inch-deep crater and a plume of gore. I yelp and dodge the chunks as I pant.

I put the weapons on. I look at the gauntlets and smile warmly at how nice they are. They are solid metal, with wolf-like claws extending off of the knuckles on the gauntlets and on the feet of the greaves.

I look over at Jonny and see he is wearing a gauntlet on his right hand. It's golden and blue, and is more like a European gauntlet.

I watch as he toggles the magic flow on and off, and I use [observe], as Jonny observes my gauntlet.

Its power has waned quite a lot, but it retains its power still. This enhances parries, and blocks, and allows magic to be cast. Can also meld with the user's arm to become stronger.)

"Nice!" I exclaim at him. "Yeah. Yours are too. I'm going to go train." "Me too!" I grin, as I walk off to an isolated place in the city, unaware that I'm being watched.

3rd Pov:

In the far distance, a shadowy figure watches as the two separate and go to isolated places in the desolate hellhole. They groan and sip from a flask as they talk on a scroll.

"they're not Salem's, that's for sure. They both seem to have magic, though."

The line goes dead and they groan, turning to leave as the full moon rises.

...and trip on an upturned tile. "...Fuck my life..."
