The Limitless Naruto In Solo LEveLing

Chapter 18: Chapter 14 - Sung Jin-woo !?

Two weeks had passed...

"Stay back, I'll handle this," I told the other hunters who were with me in this A-Rank dungeon. I was in the middle of fighting the dungeon's boss, a completely red spider. It wasn't enormous, but it was definitely fast.

But I was faster.

The spider charged at me with full speed and determination. Just before it could hit me, I teleported out of its path. It crashed into a large stone in the middle of the room, but instead of pausing, it immediately turned and launched itself at me again.

As it got closer, this time I didn't teleport away. I stood my ground, waiting for it to come at me. When it stopped right in front of me, I quickly prepared my attack. "Magical Technique: Red!" I shouted.

In an instant, the spider was thrown back by the force of my attack. It flew through the air, slammed into the cave's side wall, and fell to the ground.

With that, the raid was over.

The mining in the dungeon had already been finished, as usual, before defeating the final boss, since the gate was beginning to close.

...

"It's an honor to work with you, Sir Naruto Uzumaki," said the person who organized the raid. He was just a B-Rank hunter, but wealthy. Instead of hiring a lot of high-rank hunters for this A-Rank dungeon, he decided to bring me, an S-Rank Hunter, along with a few lower-rank hunters.

I'm not sure if it was more beneficial for him, but I made a good amount of money, and I got some valuable mining items from the dungeon that I could sell for a nice price.

Overall, it was a win for me.

In the past two weeks, I've completed a total of six dungeon raids with similar one-time contracts with guilds and other raid teams that I could join.

Out of the six dungeon raids I joined, there were 3 A-Rank, 2 B-Rank, and just 1 C-Rank dungeon. Being an S-Rank Hunter definitely helps when it comes to earning good money, but the downside is that not everyone can afford to pay for my services, making it harder to find raids.

Despite that, big guilds like the Hunter Guild and The White Tigers Guild are still keen on having me as their permanent Hunter. But, like before, I'm not interested in committing to them. My stance hasn't really changed.

Or maybe it has, just a bit.

Through joining different teams for these raids, I've realized that I can't really use my full abilities unless I'm up against the boss. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but even the A-Rank Dungeon bosses haven't been too challenging after facing them a couple of times.

So, perhaps doing raids solo could be the right path for me, if that's possible.

While I've been busy with these raids and looking into which ones I can join, I've also been researching a lot about being a hunter, raids, and dungeons.

One interesting thing I discovered is that with enough money, I could actually buy dungeons to raid on my own. That's definitely a plus.

But there's a catch to that plan.

To buy and enter a dungeon, I'd need to have my own raid team. It requires at least 8 members.

So, how would I go about doing that?

Well, just like how I joined raids with other guilds and teams, there are hunters out there who operate independently. They don't sign with guilds; instead, they look for deals online or through other means and join raids to earn a living.

So, my option would be to do the same thing: build my own raid team, buy dungeons, and complete them myself.

However, according to the Hunter Association's guidelines and rules, a raid team must have a minimum number of hunters. If that requirement isn't met, I wouldn't be allowed to enter the dungeon, even if I bought it. I might not even be able to make the purchase in the first place.

Now I find myself with two, or actually three, choices ahead of me.

The first option, and probably the easiest, is to join a guild. This is straightforward because I've already received offers from the top guilds in the country. Even if I turned those down, finding a guild wouldn't be an issue for me.

The second option is to keep going as an independent hunter, just like I'm doing now, and save up enough money to eventually start my own guild.

For now, I'm choosing this second path, as it leads me toward the third option.

Meanwhile, I still have my college studies to focus on as well. So far, everything's been going smoothly, without any hiccups. But I'll be completely sure once some more time passes and I see how everything unfolds.

There's no reason to stress about juggling both college and my hunter work at this moment.

I'm confident in my studies. Even if I only pay minimal attention, I'm sure I'll still do well, so that's not a concern. As for the hunter job, I'm not strapped for cash, nor do I need to raid dungeons to make a living, so I can take things easy on that front too.

After completing those six dungeon raids, I've found myself wanting to fight more. I think I'm actually starting to enjoy the battles, and being inside the dungeons is exciting. The thrill of entering these magical places and battling beasts is incredibly fun.

Yet, I'm still searching for a real challenge. I've faced the boss in an A-Rank dungeon, which is typically the second-highest rank available. S-Rank dungeons are quite rare, based on all the information I've gathered so far.

And then there's Sung Jin-Woo, the E-Rank Hunter from the double dungeon incident. It seems my suspicions about him were right all along.

How do I know all this?

Well, I left one of my Shadow clones to keep an eye on him after I left the hospital with Chief Inspector Woo. My Shadow clones are perfect for monitoring these kinds of activities because they can hide their magical energy even when they're close by. That's because my clones have all the abilities I do—everything.

Now, about Sung Jin-Woo, my clone has reported some suspicious activities on his part.

Oh, and I should mention, my clones can send me information telepathically. I haven't tested the range over long distances yet, but so far, I've been able to connect with my clone from a good distance away.

Back to Sung Jin-Woo—according to my clone, he's been working out a lot lately. And when I say a lot, I mean he's exercising every single day, and it's quite intense as well.

But, surprisingly enough, after every work out day, his magical energy gets refilled just immediately, as if he just rested for 4-5 days and recovered out of it.

But I know it's not wise to jump to conclusions based on just these small bits of information. Still, it's intriguing, to say the least.

But there's more to it than just that.

A few days later, Sung Jin-Woo suddenly left the hospital, claiming he had some important business to take care of. Naturally, my clone followed him.

After trailing him for a while, he stopped in front of a subway station. He pulled out a key from seemingly nowhere, placed it somewhere, and then walked into the subway station. But then, my clone lost track of him—his magical energy just vanished.

Now, these bits of information do seem quite suspicious.
