Chapter 6: Vol.6 C11-C12
Bab.11 The Trace Left Behind
Xiao Bai Tian stepped on the shattered ground.
His footprints were left between the ruins of giant trees that had fallen due to the previous battle.
A gentle breeze blew, carrying the scent of blood and ash that still hung in the air.
The Immortal Death Forest now felt quieter than before.
However, this silence was not calm.
Rather, it was fear.
The creatures inhabiting this forest had witnessed something that should not have been possible.
A human—no, an existence that surpassed humanity—had just slaughtered an ancient monster that had slept for thousands of years.
Xiao Bai Tian did not look back.
Yet, he could feel the gazes of creatures hiding in the shadows.
Some of them might just be observing.
But others…
They were hungry.
And in this world, the weak are prey.
Xiao Bai Tian paused for a moment.
He touched the black cloth covering his eyes.
"It's time…"
He took a deep breath and then walked deeper into the forest.
Every step he took was heavy with meaning.
He was not merely walking.
He was treading his path to the peak.
However, to get there…
He needed greater power.
And he knew, the resources in this place had not been fully tapped.
I must find the ancient ruins.
In a place like this, there must be remnants from a forgotten era.
Xiao Bai Tian sharpened his hearing.
Though his eye cover blocked his sight, the world around him was still clear in his mind.
Every sound of falling leaves, every whisper of the wind, every heartbeat of the creatures stalking him…
He could feel them all.
Then—
BOOM!
Suddenly, the ground before him cracked.
A thin, black hand emerged from the earth.
Followed by its body slowly rising from the darkness.
The creature wore a torn black robe.
Its face was unrecognizable, only two black holes where its eyes should have been.
However, the aura emanating from its body…
Was unlike anything Xiao Bai Tian had ever felt.
The creature stared at him expressionlessly.
Then, in a deep, heavy voice, it spoke.
"You… do not belong to this world."
Xiao Bai Tian was not surprised.
Instead, he stared directly at the creature, even though his eyes were still covered.
"Who are you?"
The creature did not respond immediately.
Instead, it raised its thin hand and pointed to the sky.
"The sky rejects you. The laws of this world seek to erase you."
Xiao Bai Tian squinted his eyes behind the black cloth.
He had long realized that something was wrong with his existence.
But this was the first time someone—or something—had said it directly.
The creature stepped forward.
"I am the guardian of something that has long been lost."
"But I am also a prisoner of the law that does not wish this world to remember it."
Xiao Bai Tian remained silent.
He could feel the truth in the creature's words.
Then, the creature raised its hand.
From within the earth, a large stone door emerged.
Symbols that Xiao Bai Tian did not recognize were carved upon it.
But one of them caught his attention.
An ancient character that glowed faintly…
玄无 (Xuán Wú).
Upon seeing that symbol, Xiao Bai Tian's heart skipped a beat.
This name…
Xuán Wú…
Why does it feel familiar?
The creature in the black robe spoke again.
"Behind this door, there is something that might answer your questions."
"But…"
It raised its head and stared at Xiao Bai Tian with its empty gaze.
"Only those who can defy the laws of the world may enter."
At that moment, the wind blew stronger.
The sky, which had begun to brighten, suddenly turned dark again.
Xiao Bai Tian stood tall.
In his heart, he knew…
This was not just an ordinary ruin.
This was something that would change everything.
And he was ready to face it.
----
Bab.12 The Closed Door
Xiao Bai Tian stood before the towering stone door.
The symbol "玄无 (Xuán Wú)" glowed faintly on its surface, emitting an aura that made the space around it feel heavy and oppressive.
The black-robed being who had emerged from the ground still stood beside him, expressionless, as if waiting for Xiao Bai Tian's decision.
Xiao Bai Tian extended his hand and touched the stone door.
Cold.
However, beneath this cold surface, something deeper lay hidden.
Something connected to the blood flowing through his veins.
The black-robed being spoke in a deep voice.
"If you wish to enter, you must prove that your existence is worthy of this place."
Xiao Bai Tian did not answer immediately.
Behind the black cloth covering his eyes, his expression remained calm.
He had endured too much to doubt just because of someone's words.
He lowered his hand and spoke in a voice that was calm yet full of pressure.
"How?"
The being raised its hand.
A beam of light appeared in the air, forming an ancient symbol different from the one on the stone door.
"Prove that you can defy the laws that wish to erase you."
As these words were spoken…
The sky trembled.
BOOM!
An invisible pressure descended from above.
The world itself rejected Xiao Bai Tian's existence.
The ground beneath his feet began to crack.
The trees around him withered within seconds, as if their life force was sucked out.
In the sky, black clouds began to swirl, forming a vortex that felt like an eye of something watching.
The black-robed being muttered softly.
"The laws are beginning to move… Let's see if you're strong enough to defy them."
Xiao Bai Tian did not move.
He could feel the tremendous pressure pushing against his body from all directions.
However, he would not retreat.
He slowly lifted his hand to his black eye patch.
Then, in one swift motion, he removed it.
Instantly, the world changed.
His eyes—
The Eyes of God.
The right eye shaped like a crescent moon in green with small lines at its edges.
The left eye like a cat's eye, a blend of gray and white.
As his eyes opened…
SPACE AND TIME VIBRATED.
The black sky trembled violently, as if something invisible was angry at its presence.
Xiao Bai Tian stared directly at the sky.
"The laws of the universe wish to erase me?"
He spoke in a cold tone, yet filled with undeniable power.
"I want to see… if you can do it."
BOOM!
A flash of light exploded from his eyes.
In an instant, the pressure that had been weighing on him vanished.
Not because the laws stopped attacking him.
But because Xiao Bai Tian's eyes devoured the pressure, dismantling its essence, and returned it as power for himself.
The black-robed being stared at him in silence.
Then, the stone door that had been closed began to vibrate.
"You are accepted."
The being's voice echoed.
CRACK!
The stone door began to slowly open.
From within, a dusty wind blew out, carrying the scent of something millions of years old.
Xiao Bai Tian closed his eye patch again and stepped inside.
He didn't know what awaited him within.
But one thing was certain…
He was getting closer to the truth about himself.
And nothing could stop him now.
