Chapter 10: The lone
Now, it was time for the practical labs, but since it was their first day, they didn't have much to test or practice there. So, it was declared dispersal.
They started to find their own ways of keeping things interesting for the remaining hours of the schedule,
Some of them started getting socialized to the new class, although many of them were from Xavier's itself, they found their old company.
But there were few who couldn't help in any of those but just left,
And now, there were Ashvini and Subhash left.
Apparently, Palki felt their sense of alienation and invited Ashvini to join them in the conversation, even her friends were curious to know about him, because he was the one and only immiscible in the class due his belongings from central indian.
But he resisted being dragged in a group of girls and leaving Subhash alone,
'Sorry!, But I have too much to study,' he politely declines her invitation
And took out the reading material provided by the I.I.L
He and Subhash both started reading the literature, trying get it in their thick skulls.
While all this time those girls were just talking about Ashvini, trying to deduce and gave their separate judgments over his personality.
As they came back to the hostel,
First, they went to lunch in the mess, which was far more dangerous and life-threatening than the crown.
They again met those other three boys, and they started sharing their experiences of the first day in school.
In a few minutes, the warden visited the mess and informed them about their new timetable from the society.
According to which they have their martial arts training coming at the very next hour, upon hearing this, they immediately finished their lunch and went to their room to rest.
But Ashvini was still going through the lecture notes, which surely fascinated his soul's inclination.
As they all begin to settle down with the routine, it becomes a sort of fun for Ashvini. Every day, he wakes up with the excitement of learning new things, training his body, and disciplining his own mind.
But the language and culture were a huge barrier for Ashvini and his social life, which was almost nil at the time.
Although he wanted to keep it that way, for the time till he understands and learns all the fundamentals of the game, he is in between.
A few days later,
An envelope was passed through the narrow gap of the door, slid in by the warden.
It was Ashvini's room, which had been empty for a while because nobody had shown up as his roommate yet.
A few minutes later, Ashvini opens the door and his foot sat on the letter, which he noticed and picked up a flash,
It the letter from his father,
He opens it up, and reads it
Dear son, hope you are doing well in the new school and I know it'll be a bit difficult to adjust to the new environment, but you'll be fine in a few weeks. I'm fine here. Mr. Shantanu met me yesterday, and he was telling me about his Ph.D., which will be starting soon. Maybe next month he'll be there in Calcutta.
If you want something from here, you write about it to me and I will hand it over to him.
Hope to hear from your side soon.
Your father: Madhan Prem Dubey.
After reading this, he gets into tears and about Mr. Shantanu, because of whom he ended up here in the society, especially, why??
