Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Queen's First Appearance
The next day, North Blue, Donquixote Family Headquarters
"BOOM!!!"
The entire castle trembled violently in an instant. Cracks spread across the walls like a spiderweb, and hundreds of glass windows shattered under the terrifying impact of Conqueror's Haki, like a harbinger of doom.
In the center of the hall, Doflamingo stood like a demon in his long feather coat, the floor tiles beneath his feet cracking from the dancing strings. The air was filled with killing intent and oppressive fear. He had his signature smile on his lips, but it was extremely twisted with anger, and even his eyes behind his sunglasses were bloodshot.
"Roy... ROY!!!" His voice was as low as the roar of a beast from hell, making the entire hall tremble.
On the floor, Diamante was prostrated like a corpse, his forehead pressed to the floor tiles, his whole body drenched in cold sweat, the cape on his back already soaked.
"D-Doffy... he-he also asked me to pass on a message to you..." his voice trembled, and he could barely form the words.
Doflamingo suddenly bent down, grabbed him with one hand, his eyes terrifying. "SPEAK!!!"
Diamante almost cried out, and said with a stiff upper lip, "He said... to tell you not to think about Dressrosa anymore..."
"...What?" The hall fell into a brief, dead silence. The next moment, Doflamingo's pupils constricted, and his whole body froze as if struck by lightning.
"How could he know... about that?"
"That's... the kingdom I've been planning for ten years..."
"This is information that even the World Government might not have..."
He suddenly took a step back, his expression instantly turning extremely grim. A series of images flashed through his mind—that boy with the spotted hat and cold eyes. That traitorous brother who hid everything with a smile, Rosinante.
"Traitor... damn traitor!!!" Doflamingo gritted his teeth, his fists clenched so tight they cracked, and blood slowly dripped from his palm.
"Roy... what exactly are you trying to do?" He felt an unprecedented pressure, a man who did not belong to the Marines but who controlled dangerous rules, was slowly dismantling his throne in what seemed like a game.
Just as his mind was growing colder—
"BANG!"
The conference room door was violently thrown open, the door panel almost falling off. Trebol stumbled in, snot flying everywhere, in a complete panic. "L-Lord Doffy!!! Something's happened!!! Something terrible has happened!!!"
"What now?!" Doflamingo roared.
Trebol was so scared he almost fell to his knees. "It's Queen from the Beast Pirates! He's already outside the castle!"
"Queen?!" This time, Doflamingo was no longer angry, but truly alert and thoughtful. His usual wild laughter briefly disappeared, replaced by a deep frown.
"Kaido's man... coming to me for a partnership at this time?"
"Is he trying to pull me into the game... or trying to share the pressure?"
He was silent for a moment, a cold glint in his eyes. "Let him in."
Trebol quickly nodded and exited. Doflamingo walked to the broken window and looked at the dark sky. A smile appeared on his lips again, but this time it was not arrogant, but cold, oppressive, and bottomless.
"Interesting..."
"Roy, you're forcing my hand..."
Marine Headquarters, Marineford
The sun fell on the white, magnificent buildings. The morning sea breeze blew through the central avenue, ruffling the metal buckles on Roy's uniform. He had his hands in his pockets, his steps leisurely, his face calm, but his mind was already far away.
"...Is it already the year 1510 of the Sea Circle Calendar?"
"According to the original historical progress, this year, Red-Hair will steal the Nika fruit and then lose his arm in Windmill Village..." He frowned slightly, then gently shook his head. "But now that Luffy has been brought to Headquarters for training by me, that accident... probably won't happen anymore."
His gaze lowered, his lips slightly parted. "As for Sabo..."
"I've already given Dragon a heads-up. The Revolutionary Army should be arriving soon, in time to get him out of Goa before the accident happens."
"This way, at least his darkest fate can be rewritten, and he can grow up in the Revolutionary Army..."
As he was thinking, a light footstep suddenly came from ahead. "Big Brother Roy!!" Two small figures rushed over like the wind, hugging his legs tightly, one on each side.
"Nojiko? Nami?" Roy looked down and couldn't help but chuckle. The two sisters were looking up at him, their eyes shining like they were full of starlight. Nojiko was shy, but Nami was already grinning brightly.
"You two, don't you have classes today?"
"We do!" Nami stood on her tiptoes and said proudly, "Today we're going to the intelligence department to learn how to read sea charts!"
"We're going to be super awesome Marines in the future!" Nojiko also nodded vigorously, her small hands clenched into fists.
Before Roy could speak, a lazy and smiling female voice came from behind him. "Well, if it isn't the busy man, finally willing to come back~"
He looked up and saw Gion standing on the steps with her arms crossed, a teasing smile on her lips. Today, she wasn't wearing her flowing kimono but a standard dark blue Marine uniform. The cinched waist outlined her proud figure, and her eyes held a new sharpness and heroic spirit.
Behind her was a slightly shy girl—her strawberry-blond hair fell smoothly to her waist, her clear green eyes like gems reflected in the blue sea. The moment she saw Roy, her whole face instantly turned red.
"Hibari?" Roy was slightly taken aback, then a gentle smile appeared on his lips. "Long time no see, Hibari."
"...Big Brother Roy!" Hibari almost bit her lip as she responded shyly, her fingertips constantly twisting the hem of her clothes, as if she were about to melt like butter in the sun.
"Vice Admiral Tsuru's granddaughter, the future Headquarters Rear Admiral."
"Her brain is scarily smart, she just blushes too easily." Roy thought to himself, but his gaze softened slightly. "What are you guys up to?"
"Of course, we're going to class!" Nami raised her little hand. "Sister Gion said she's going to teach us how to read charts and navigate!"
"We're also going to learn cryptography," Nojiko said seriously.
"Hmph, an excellent navigator doesn't just rely on a sense of direction," Gion took a step forward and patted their shoulders. "Stop messing around, we have important things to do." She turned back and gave Roy a meaningful wink. "By the way, Fleet Admiral Sengoku heard you caused quite a stir in the North Blue?"
"Hah..." Roy smiled and shrugged. "Just took a few things. It's not that big a deal, is it~"
Gion didn't press the matter further and turned to lead the three girls towards the intelligence department. Before she left, Hibari secretly looked back and, seeing that Roy was also looking at her, she immediately turned back as if she had been burned, the tips of her ears so red they looked like they would bleed.
Watching them leave, Roy smiled, but a hint of deep thought appeared in his eyes. He looked up at the vast blue sky. The sunlight shone through the white clouds onto his shoulder, warm and quiet.
"Next, I should go check on Ace and Law's training progress."
