The Pinnacle of the Navy! Starting from Being Captured by Garp

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Seeds

Marine Headquarters, Training Ground, Afternoon

Sunlight bathed the vast training ground, the air thick with the smell of dust, sweat, and metal.

"CLANG!"

Blade and flame clashed violently, and a shockwave of sparks instantly swept out in all directions. In the center of the training ground, Ace's fists burned with pale blue fire, while Law swung the Haki-infused Kikoku, precisely cutting through the air.

"Fire Fist!"

"ROOM: Amputate!"

Scorching heat and cold spatial energy met in mid-air, creating a violent tremor. The ground even began to crack.

"Hah... hah..." Ace wiped away his sweat, his expression excited. "Ha! Now this is more like it!"

"You're too loud," Law said calmly, but he was clearly more serious than usual. With a turn of his right hand, his space expanded again.

"Whoa!!"

The spectating Marines all retreated, their faces filled with shock.

"The combat power of these two kids is already approaching officer level, isn't it?"

"That flame temperature has burned the rocks at the edge of the field red!"

"And Law's spatial domain is becoming more and more stable. He can actually deploy it continuously in battle!"

On the sidelines, Garp sat cross-legged on the sand, munching on rice crackers while giving Luffy some "training of love"—which was basically a one-sided education with his fists.

"Your fists need to be faster! Where's your Haki?! Use your Haki!"

"Waaah! Grandpa! It hurts!" A 7-year-old Luffy was sent running around the field, clutching his head, but he couldn't escape Garp's iron fists.

"Hahahaha! This is nothing!" Garp laughed. "Your dad and your Big Bro Roy took way worse beatings than this back in the day!"

Luffy's cries were deafening, occasionally even distracting the fiercely battling Ace and Law.

"Luffy! Shut up!" A vein popped on Ace's forehead. Distracted, he lost his footing and was forced back three steps by Law's short sword.

"Don't let your mind wander in a fight," Law said in a low voice.

Ace gritted his teeth, and his flames erupted, as if trying to burn an answer out of this fight.

Just as everyone was immersed in the training atmosphere, a familiar black shadow slowly approached. Roy had his hands in his pockets, his steps leisurely, his gaze sweeping over the entire training ground. When he saw a familiar figure under a tree not far away, he paused.

It was Kuzan. He was leaning against the tree trunk, his cape half-covering his body, an eye mask over one eye, seemingly dozing. But Roy knew he was definitely observing the battle on the field.

"Brother Kuzan," Roy walked to his side and said in a low voice, "what brings you to the training ground today?"

Kuzan lifted his eye mask, opening that deep and calm eye. "Arara... Roy. Just passing by, thought I'd take a look." He looked at Ace and Law, was silent for a few seconds, then said slowly, "...Are you sure you want to raise him like this?"

Roy knew who he was asking about. He looked at the fiery figure of the boy on the field and answered softly, "Ace is a good kid. He shouldn't be defined by his 'bloodline'."

"He's not the one who's wrong. It's the beings who made this world the way it is."

Those words fell like a heavy hammer into Kuzan's heart. He lowered his eyes, and the images of the past flashed in his mind—the sea of fire at Ohara, Saul's falling back, the smile that wouldn't close even in ice.

"You..." Kuzan said in a low voice, "you really are bold."

"Do you know what kind of structure you are provoking?"

"Of course I know," Roy smiled calmly. "But if we don't shatter these structures, why did we become Marines?"

Kuzan didn't answer, but just let out a low laugh. He looked at those children, and for a moment, he couldn't tell what he was insisting on, and what he was running from.

"I'm leaving," he said, patting the dust off his coat and turning to leave.

"See you next time, senior brother," Roy said softly, watching his retreating back.

Kuzan's steps faltered almost imperceptibly, but he ultimately didn't turn back, just waved his hand. His shadow was stretched long by the sun, as if he were walking down a path of no return.

"Still wavering, senior brother...?" Roy withdrew his gaze. "But it doesn't matter."

"The future is still long."

He looked back at the training ground. Ace's flames were growing brighter, Law's spatial slashes sharper, and Luffy's cries had long since drowned out Garp's laughter. Under the sun, the Marine flag fluttered. Here, new "seeds of fire" that would change the world were being nurtured. Everything was still moving forward.

East Blue, Goa Kingdom, Midnight

A light breeze blew through the brightly lit noble district of Goa Kingdom, while in the distance, the Gray Terminal was steeped in darkness and the damp stench of decay. A thin figure was running again in the night. Sabo stumbled through the dilapidated shacks and ruins, blood still seeping from the bruise on his forehead, but he paid it no mind.

"The burning plan..."

"They're going to silence everyone..."

His fists were clenched, his knuckles white, his steps staggering but never stopping. He had to tell everyone. He had to stop this.

But just as he was about to cross the blockade, two armed soldiers roughly stopped him. "Get lost! Trash can't get near the noble district!"

Sabo was sent flying by a kick, landing in the muddy water. Blood and filth mixed, sliding down his cheek. He struggled to get up again—

Suddenly, an unusual wind blew by. The soldiers' movements froze, their eyes instantly becoming vacant, their guns falling to the ground. Sabo was stunned.

The next second, a tall figure strode forward in the moonlight. A green cloak fluttered, and the familiar flame tattoo beneath it revealed the newcomer's identity. He walked up to Sabo, knelt down, and quietly looked at the child covered in mud and filth, his eyes full of anger.

"You just said, the burning plan?" Monkey D. Dragon's voice was low, carrying a hint of weariness from years of battle, but also a sharp perception.

Sabo's eyes trembled. "They're going to... burn everyone in the Terminal... just to welcome a Celestial Dragon..." He was almost shouting. "Just because a Celestial Dragon thinks it's 'dirty'!" By the end, he was almost screaming. "I hate this world! I hate that I have the blood of a noble in me!"

After speaking, he finally couldn't hold on anymore and fainted in Dragon's arms. Dragon looked at him silently, a ripple passing through the depths of his eyes.

"So it really is him..."

"That kid."

He thought of the private letter from Marineford a few weeks ago.

"In the Goa Kingdom of the East Blue, there is a noble's son named Sabo. If you are looking for a seed to inherit the will of the revolution, I suggest you go take a look."

Signed: Roy.

Dragon had kept that letter in his inner coat pocket, carrying it with him. This Marine Rear Admiral, he had always felt, was not simple. Several key directions of the Revolutionary Army, such as "regional autonomy," "phased propagation of ideals," and "undercover network infiltration methods," had all come from casual mentions in a few private conversations with Roy years ago. This time, he had once again chosen to trust that letter.

He picked up Sabo and murmured softly, "...I will teach you how to overthrow all of this."

The next morning, High Town, Outlook Family Mansion.

Sabo woke up with a start in a soft bed. The sun was shining brightly outside, as if everything from yesterday had just been a dream. But his father's cold face dragged him back to reality.

"Stop struggling," Outlook III said coldly. "Today, the Celestial Dragon, Saint Jalmack, will be arriving. You must attend as the son of a noble."

Sabo's eyes were dead. He gritted his teeth and said nothing. "This world... is hopeless."

Noon, the port.

Sabo took advantage of a moment of lax security and stole a small fishing boat. The small boat quietly sailed out of the harbor, Sabo frantically rowing.

"Freedom..." he whispered. "I want to be free."

However, fate seemed to play another trick on him. Just as his small boat was about to leave the harbor—a luxurious giant ship slowly sailed in. At its bow stood the Celestial Dragon, Saint Jalmack, wearing a bubble helmet.

"Hm? That small boat is an eyesore. Sink it."

"As you command, Saint Jalmack!"

The cannon turned, and fire erupted.

"BOOM!"

Sabo's small boat was blown to pieces. His body was sent flying by the shockwave and fell into the cold sea. But just as he was about to sink to the bottom, a green figure swept over the sea like a storm and gathered him into its arms.

And at that moment, in the royal palace of Goa Kingdom, the nobles were holding a lavish welcoming ceremony. "Alas, young master Sabo's boat was sunk. How... unfortunate." Insincere laments mingled with expensive champagne. No one really cared. Amidst the nobles' insincere sighs, no one noticed that a gentle breeze had quietly left Goa Kingdom.

It was the seed of freedom, awakening.
