The wind howled, and the waves roared. A giant black pirate ship cut through the waves, its bow a menacing shark design, its rusty iron anchor hanging from the side, the dripping ropes swaying in the wind like the chains of a reaper. At the bow, a tall figure stood with his arms crossed.

Arlong, the captain of the Arlong Pirates, a fish-man with a bounty of 20 million Berries. His serrated nose glinted coldly in the sunlight, his face a mask of contempt and ferocity.

"Hmph... let's start here," Arlong licked his sharp teeth, a sick smile on his lips. "This land of humans, from today on, will become our fish-man paradise."

"Brother Arlong is right!" Hachi waved his six arms, his eyes shining with excitement. "I can't wait to use the takoyaki grill in the village~"

Kuroobi, Chew, Kane, Shioyaki, Pisaro, and the other fish-man pirates also jumped off the ship and onto the beach. They were all burly, their skin of various colors, but all were bloodthirsty and ferocious.

However, they were not facing an empty beach. Dozens of villagers stood at the pier, holding rusty harpoons, hoes, and sickles, forming a loose but unyielding "defensive line." At the very front was a middle-aged man wearing a pinwheel hat: Cocoyasi Village's sheriff, Genzo. His eyes were bloodshot, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead, but he did not take a single step back.

"Pirates, I'm warning you!" Genzo raised his harpoon, his voice hoarse but firm. "There is no place for you in Cocoyasi Village! Go back to your stinking sewers!"

The fish-men were taken aback for a moment. The next second, it was as if they had heard the funniest joke in the world.

"Wahahahaha!"

"That's hilarious! A mere village of inferior humans dares to resist us?!"

"Was that harpoon dug up from ancient times? Does it even work?!"

Arlong walked forward, his steps heavy, each one like a drumbeat on the villagers' hearts. He stared at the harpoon in Genzo's hand and suddenly grinned. "You mean this?"

CRUNCH!!

He bit down on the front of the harpoon. The weapon, forged from fine steel, shattered in his mouth like paper. Bloody fangs, flying shards of iron.

Genzo staggered back, only half a harpoon left in his hand, which trembled slightly. "Listen up!" Arlong spat out the shattered harpoon head and looked down at the villagers with contempt. "I'm not just any 'fish-man.' I'm the great pirate with a bounty of 20 million—Arlong!"

"Wh-What?!"

"A great pirate with a bounty of over ten million?!"

"We're finished..."

A commotion went through the villagers. A few of the elderly had already collapsed to the ground, and the young people also showed looks of terror.

"From today on," Arlong raised a finger, his smile turning cold, "this village is under our control."

"You will pay a 'head tax' every month: 100,000 Berries for each adult, 50,000 for each child."

"If you can't pay..." His hand went to the giant, serrated sword at his waist. Its blade, like a sharp shark's tooth, glinted coldly in the sunlight. "...then you'll pay with your lives."

"...You bastard!" Genzo's eyes were bloodshot, and he gritted his teeth. "We are the people of the East Blue! You fish-men..."

"Smack!"

Kuroobi flashed over and punched Genzo hard in the stomach, sending him flying back several meters, crashing into a wooden box behind him. The villagers screamed.

"Uncle Genzo!!"

"Don't come over!!!" Genzo lay on the ground, spitting up blood, but he desperately tried to get up, his trembling hands spread out, trying to stop the young people who still wanted to charge forward.

"...You can't escape," Chew licked his sharp teeth, approaching step by step, his face full of cruel excitement. "Just submit, inferior race."

"From today on, you are our—"

BOOM!!

Before he could finish, a black shadow suddenly fell from the sky, as if a thunderbolt had struck the earth.

"BANG!!!"

The force of the punch exploded. Chew didn't even have time to scream. His entire body was sent flying back dozens of meters like a cannonball, crashing into a pile of rocks by the sea, sending up a large cloud of dust and debris.

The scene fell silent, the air as if frozen. The dust settled, revealing a boy squatting in the center of the rubble, his fist buried deep in the ground, a bright smile on his face. "Hehe~ Luffy's here!"

"Luffy! Why were you in such a hurry!" Another figure landed steadily, his black hair flying in the wind, pale blue flames dancing on his fingertips. It was Ace.

The two of them stood side-by-side. They were young, but their presence was as oppressive as a storm.

The Arlong Pirates' pupils constricted. Kuroobi blurted out, "Two little kids?!"

A vein popped on Arlong's forehead, his eyes full of ferocity. "Two wet-behind-the-ears humans... dare to humiliate us like this?!"

"Kids, come back!" Genzo roared anxiously. "You're no match for them!!"

"It's okay!" Luffy turned back, a bright smile on his face, his eyes burning with a fiery fighting spirit. "We were trained by Big Brother Roy!"

"You're courting death!!"

"Shark ON DARTS!!!"

Arlong roared, pushed off the ground, and his serrated nose suddenly extended, becoming a cold glint that shot towards Luffy's back.

"Luffy, watch out!" Ace's expression turned grim, and he instantly made a move.

"Swish!"

He pressed down on Luffy's head, and the next second, Arlong's terrifying nose tip actually pierced through Ace's chest with a "splat."

The villagers screamed in terror. "Ahhhh!!!"

But strangely—the pierced spot instantly turned into a raging flame.

"What?!" Arlong's pupils constricted. Before he could react, he felt a scorching pain on his nose. "Saaaahhh!!!" He screamed and quickly pulled back his nose, only to find that the tip had been burned black and was crumbling.

Ace frowned slightly, the flames re-forming into a solid body. "Luffy, you were too careless."

Luffy, whose head was being held down, grinned foolishly. "That's because you were here, Ace~"

"Damn it!!!" Arlong was furious, his roar shaking the heavens. "So what if you're a Devil Fruit user?! You're just two little kids!!" He raised his greatsword and roared, "Everyone, get them!!"

"Kill!!!"

Kuroobi, Hachi, Kane, Shioyaki, and Pisaro charged forward like beasts from a cage, roaring. Their killing intent was overwhelming, their presence terrifying.

"Luffy!"

"Mm!"

"Let them see..." Ace's entire body erupted in flames, becoming a scorching sun. "...what it means to be a disciple personally trained by a Marine Headquarters Rear Admiral!!!"

"Fire Fist!!"

Ace pushed off the ground, the flame like a dragon as it charged towards Kuroobi and the other fish-man executives. His right arm became a stream of fire several meters long and slammed out.

"RUMBLE!!!"

The scorching flame swept over them like a giant wave, instantly engulfing Kane, Shioyaki, and Pisaro. The sand turned black, and the sea breeze rolled back.
