The Regression Of Jiraiya

Chapter 19: Chapter 19 He was actually a chill guy

A wave of disbelief swept through the gathered Senju Clan members.

"Isn't that sage mode? He can use the same power as Hashirama-sama,"

One of them whispered, his voice trembling slightly from excitement.

Sage mode was a legendary power, a technique that was old those who could become one with nature could wield.

It was the power that Senju Hashirama used to gain the title of the God of Shinobi.

Jiraiya, a ten years old child, could access such a power that was beyond comprehension.

"Interesting, This is getting more interesting."

Madara Uchiha mused, his eyes gleaming with intensity as he observed Jiraiya.

"Your sage mode is different from Hashirama's."

Madara's interest in Jiraiya had grown exponentially. He saw in the boy a potential that, if nurtured and guided correctly, could yield unimaginable power.

"Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to trap me in an illusion?"

Jiraiya asked him directly.

He knew Hashirama was nearby, ready to step in if Madara overstepped.

But so far, Madara hadn't shown any hostility. He seemed more interested in something else.

Madara's response was direct.

"Become my disciple," he declared, his voice resonating with an almost hypnotic power. "I will train you to become the strongest."

His confidence was absolute. He seemed utterly convinced that Jiraiya would accept his offer without hesitation.

But Madara had misjudged his target. Jiraiya wasn't a naive kid.

"I refuse!" he retorted, his voice hardening. "I don't want to be your disciple. Who in their right mind would subject a child to such a powerful illusion?"

Jiraiya's words were reasonable and Madara couldn't find fault in that. He did the same as Tobirama.

Madara's voice was firm, yet there was an undercurrent of indifference, "Then you don't have to be my disciple. I will still teach you my taijutsu."

The formalities of a student-teacher relationship held little importance to him.

His sole purpose was to mold Jiraiya into a formidable force, a future adversary worthy of his time and attention.

Jiraiya was taken aback, "Huh? Are you serious, bro?" He had expected anger, perhaps annoyance at his refusal.

But Madara's nonchalance was unexpected, even refreshing. Jiraiya had initially pegged him as a brooding, intense figure.

This glimpse of a 'chill' side was a welcome surprise.

"Take this. When you master it, come to me at the Uchiha clan." Madara tossed him a scroll, its aged parchment containing the fundamental techniques of the customized Uchiha Interception Fist.

It was his personal tweak, a fighting style designed to be used even without the Sharingan.

Jiraiya's fingers trembled slightly as he held the scroll, his eyes wide with disbelief.

It was real. Madara had just bestowed upon him his most coveted taijutsu techniques without hesitation.

"Let's return to the clan, Izuna. My business here is concluded."

He turned to address his younger brother, whose gaze lingered on Jiraiya with unconcealed envy.

Even Izuna, Madara's own kin, had not been granted access to his personal taijutsu.

A knowing smirk played on Madara's lips as he shifted his attention towards a nearby tree.

"Let's have a competition to see who can impart more knowledge to him, Hashirama."

As if on cue, Hashirama gracefully descended from the tree branches, landing beside Jiraiya with a gentle thud.

His warm gaze met Jiraiya's.

"You are welcome to practice the taijutsu Madara has given you. I, too, will share my own techniques with you."

The unspoken jealousy as all eyes turned towards Jiraiya. He was about to receive personal tutelage from two of the most renowned shinobi in history.

Jiraiya nodded and thought.

'Now I will have more cards to play when it is time to defend Uzu.'

Hashirama and Madara were going to teach him. With their combined knowledge and technique, Jiraiya felt very confident.

However, before that, there was a more pressing concern.

Hashirama's health. The First Hokage was not destined to live a long life.

The wars he fought took a toll on him. Even with his immense power, death would eventually claim him.

Jiraiya knew that Hashirama's survival was very important. The man was not just powerful.

He was a symbol of hope, a pillar of peace. His death would be a devastating blow to the morale of the allied forces, and it could potentially tip the scales in favor of their enemies.

Therefore, Jiraiya's immediate priority was clear. He had to find a way to extend Hashirama's life.

He had to defy fate and rewrite the future. The task was difficult, perhaps even borderline impossible, but Jiraiya was not one to back down from a challenge.

His motto was to never give up.
