The Rise of Victoria Seras

Chapter 50: Part 50

Chapter 50

Leaving Integra's office, I once again appeared before the vampires and this time bowed seriously against the backdrop of the opening gates.

- The head of Hellsing has given you permission to enter. We can discuss our deal in the living room. Please follow me. - Smiling at Helena, I headed into the mansion.

- …Are you sure about this, Helena? Isn't it too suspicious? - asked the calmer vampire.

- I'm sure. But, to be honest, I didn't expect you to be so nervous, Carmilla.

"You got me. It's just... you feel it too, right?" the vampiress blushed before looking back at the mansion warily.

- Yes, it is pressure. I think everyone has greatly underestimated this vampire named Alucard. - Helena stated with a small laugh.

Entering the mansion, the three vampires couldn't help but frown, as they immediately felt that part of their powers had been suppressed. After all, it wasn't for nothing that the Hellsings were a family of vampire hunters, and unlike the genetically modified fakes from Millennium, the local limiting spells worked on real vampires. Although, due to Alucard's special nature, it didn't work on him and his chicks.

Having led them into the living room, we settled down at a small but comfortable table with sofas on either side. When we sat down opposite each other, Walter arrived with a tray containing blood bags and glasses.

- Thank you, Walter. Do you want to stay with us? - I asked, taking one of the bags of blood, while carefully ignoring the disgust that appeared on the faces of Helena's companions.

"You know, Seras, this is the very case when for the first time in many years I would like to postpone the fulfillment of my duties, but alas, there is too much work," Walter answered, slightly laughing, before leaving.

It had been 5 minutes since Walter left, and none of the vampires had spoken or touched the blood bags. All I could do was drink the blood boredly, wondering why they had come if all they did was sit there silently.

"It looks like something fun is happening."

"Master?"

"I can't believe you denied me the pleasure of witnessing something so interesting."

"It's not that I didn't want to tell you, it's just that I couldn't find you."

"Hm. I see. I think I know what I need to teach you next."

"What?" I asked inquisitively.

"I'll tell you later, I want to meet old friends."

As soon as Alucard finished the telepathic connection, he appeared from the shadows and sat down on the couch next to me, while grabbing one of the blood bags to drink. The vampires sitting opposite him looked at his aura in awe.

- It's been a long time, Elizabeth Bathory.

"Do I know you?" asked the most arrogant of the three.

- Oh, right. You don't know this form. But if you don't recognize me from this distance, then you haven't grown much in this time. - Alucard chuckled.

- You dare...! - the vampire was about to show her character once again, but she was stopped by a pistol pointed at her forehead.

- You really should think a little more with your head sometimes, Bathory. Then you might recognize him. - Helena said, trying to hide her shock at realizing who was sitting in front of her.

"What do you mean?" Elizabeth asked irritably, while Carmila finally realized and looked at Helena as if asking if she understood correctly, receiving a nod in response.

- I deeply repent of my ignorance. Please accept my humble apologies. - Carmila suddenly bowed to Alucard.

- It's all right. I'm just a servant of the people, for now. - Alucard waved it off with a smile.

"Thank you." Karmila straightened up again and sat back down.

- What's wrong with you, Carmila? Why are you bowing to him?

- It must be unpleasant to be in the same company with her, - Alucard asked Helena with a grin.

"It's quite tiring," she replied.

- How dare you…! - Before she could continue, this time she was stopped by Carmila, who grabbed her ear and began to whisper something quickly. A few seconds later, her eyes widened in fear as she looked at Alucard. He, grinning darkly, took off his sunglasses to look her straight in the eyes, causing her to tremble slightly.

"I-I can't believe you're a-alive, your majesty." She tried to smile and bow politely, though it was ruined by how much she was shaking.

- It took you some time to get to know me, be glad that you are my chick's guest and I cannot kill you without reason.

- Thank you, your majesty.

"Master, it seems you really are the king of vampires."

"And did you doubt it?"

"I always thought it was just a nickname given by people."

"No, this is my rightful title. Unless someone defeats me in combat, I will always be king."

"I see," I said, having finished my telepathic conversation with the master, and turned to Helena. "So, can we finally get down to business?"

- You say that, but I don't even know what you want us to do.

- Well, there are many universes, so your task is to choose which one you want to go to.

- For example?

- Just give me some criteria according to which I will show you the world. - I answered, realizing that it was unlikely that they knew many truly interesting worlds.

- I see. This may take some time.

- Think as much as you want. We definitely have enough time. - I grinned, but seeing no reaction from the others, I was a little embarrassed and decided to go for a walk with Baski.

- Haha, why are you embarrassed, police girl? It took you quite a while to make a joke about being a vampire.

- But no one laughed, not even you, master.

- Oh please, laughter from humor died in me many centuries ago. I'm sure that after a while, jokes will stop being so funny for you too.

- But human imagination is endless, will all jokes really stop making people laugh?

- No, not all, but most.

- By the way, policewoman. I think it's time to teach you to sense the presence of other vampires. If you can't even sense me, then you're a loser anyway.

- Hey! This is not fair, how can you expect me to do something I have never learned?

- Instinct! You think too much and it dulls the instinct.

"I can't deny it," I muttered, admitting defeat.

"Good. Now your training is to find me." Alucard said before disappearing into the shadows.

- What?

"You have to sense where I am and try to catch me. I will constantly run away until you touch me. Good luck."

-… THIS IS JUST HIDE AND SEEK!
