The Sister He Never Knew Existed

Chapter 56: Finally back home

The nurses would be bringing Shinta her lunch soon, as much as she was upset they brought her back she was grateful. She knew just how hard headed she was but also realized after hearing what the doctor said that she was at a higher risk out there alone. Getting lost in her thoughts Shinta didn't hear the nurse come in until the bowl was set down on the table by her bedside and wheeled over to her. Shinta looked over at the nurse and gave a small smile "thank you again" she said lightly bowing her head to the nurse who took her leave nodding back to her. Shinta ate the bowl of ramen they brought her, it tasted like the kind Aizawa always made when she was sick which brought a small smile. The smile faded quickly after and she felt guilty, she felt it was her fault that everyone got hurt. After finishing her meal still thinking about what had happened some, she got the go ahead to get a shower from the nurses. After they carefully removed the IV Shinta got a shower in the bathroom in her room. While she was in the shower Bakugo arrived to spend time with her, after he checked in with the nurses they let him know she was showering and should be out shortly. They let him go ahead and wait in her room remembering how worried he was when they brought her in. Bakugo went in and got himself comfortable in the chair beside her bed waiting for her to come out. Several minutes later Shinta finally came out of the bathroom and smiled when she saw Bakugo siting there waiting for her. "Hey you" she said as she went back to the bed. "Hey, how you feeling? You really scared me" Bakugo said to her while she was getting herself comfortable again. "I didn't mean to scare you like that truly. I'm feeling better they said I should be cleared in another day or so. I realized even more after talking with the doctor that it really is better to be here with you guys than out there on my own" Shinta admitted to him taking his hand in hers.

"Just don't do something like that again. I'm just glad your safe. You should when your feeling better probably thank my mom. She is the one that found you in the backyard on the couch out there. She brought you inside and got you to lay down in my room before she called me. I wont make you, but I think she would appreciate it. She may piss me off but she helped me save you" he said with a blush. Shinta chuckled softly "Its nice seeing this side of you. You don't have to hide this side of you" she said to him trying to be cute and booping him on the nose. "Yea yea, my soft side is only for you teddy bear" he said to her before giving her a kiss. "So we haven't told everyone else that your back just yet. I figured you would rather not be bombarded by everyone. I also figured you wouldn't want them all asking you tons of questions. Shoto told me you'll explain everything to us when you get released. I'll be right there by your side. You told me a good bit by the lake, so ill be there as your rock" he said to her. "I just hope everyone else can take it as well as you have. Deku…the way he found out during the fight. I hope he will talk to me when we find him. We are going to find him and bring him home too. If I'm here than he needs to be as well. We are stronger together especially with the foe were up against" she said to him. "We will find him don't worry. With you as our eyes in the sky we should have better luck spotting him" Bakugo said reassuringly. The two spent the next few hours watching a movie after Shinta convinced them to bring in a tv now that she has stabled and is calm. Around Dinner time Bakugo had to head back to the dorms. "Alright Teddy bear. I'll see you when you come back to the dorms soon. Cant wait to have you back home" he said before kissing her goodnight. Shinta ate the dinner they brought her not long after when the nurse came in to take her tray "You have one more visitor for the night. As long as there are no issues with your readings tonight you'll be able to return to the dorms tomorrow" The nurse said. Shinta was confused they didn't announce the other two who had come to see her. As the nurse was heading out she held the door open and Aizawa came through the door on crutches.

When shinta saw him like that it hurt. She quickly got up and went over to help him to the chair by her bed "Dad? I wasn't sure if you were gonna come up here. You didn't have to….I don't deserve it" she said almost mumbling the last part as she helped him sit in the chair. Aizawa grabbed her hand as she tried to back away. "Don't ever say that. You do, your the reason I didn't bleed out that day. I wanted to come see you. To make sure your doing better, we were really worried about you" he said letting go of her hand so she could get back in the bed. "I just feel like its my fault dad. I was with them but I had no idea what was going to happen" she said looking down. "Hey don't blame yourself. They kept you in the dark, for what ever the reason. When it came down to it you showed up and helped. You saved not just me but your friends and other heroes that day. Even if it isn't int he official records, those who were there know what you did for your fellow heroes. Shinta you are where you belong, don't ever forget that" he said in the most reassuring tone he could muster. "Thanks dad. It really messed with me, the whole fight. War was not what I signed up for" she said to him and he nodded knowing exactly what she meant. The two sat there enjoying each other's company, it was relaxing for her to be around him again. Ever since he had adopted her Aizawa had some strange way about him that just relaxed her. The entire time Aizawa would look over and study her demeanor he could tell what had happened had messed her up. Keeping this to himself he spent the evening with his daughter being the loving father she needed. He waited till she fell asleep before taking his leave for the night. As he headed home he pulled out his phone "Shinso, it happened again. She seems to have similar signs to when she was younger. Back when we had to help her work through the PTSD when it came back out. Lets just hope her being back among her friends will be enough. Just help keep an eye on her, I know your worried about her too" He said hearing a grumble of agreement from the other end before putting his phone away and turning in for the night.

With no incidents through the night Shinta was released after breakfast. Her friends were all in class so for the time being she decided she would walk around in the city close to UA, maybe she could spot Deku or some old friends from the LOV. Shinta began just wandering the streets until she sees a familiar face. One she hoped would be friendly after what all had unfolded in the last few months. As she got closer she followed at a distance till there weren't a lot of people around "hey spinner" she said loud enough for him to hear but with that tinge of nervousness as she called out to one of the members of the LOV. The entire time she hoped he hadn't turned on her and wouldn't try to attack her. Spinner turned around hearing the familiar voice and was shocked to see her standing there none of them knew what happened to her after the fight. "Yami? Your alright?" He said walking closer to her so others wouldn't hear them talking as they began walking around. "I'm doing better. I had got sick but doing better" she said to him and he smiled some glad to see she was alright. "I was worried you were gonna attack me at first. Shigaraki warned me at the fight that I had a target on me" she admitted to him, she could tell spinner didn't seem to have any ill intent towards her. "What happened that day was intense. Shigaraki himself wouldn't ever want to harm you. I know what he had told you for that day. Those orders weren't from him, so I choose whether to follow them or not. You are our friend even with the side you chose. But I do have some questions for you" spinner said to her and she nodded. "Sure what's up? I figured if when ever we saw each other again you might" she said playfully punching his arm. "So we heard Dabi's announcement. Why hide that?" He asked her "because of endeavor. Plus Dabi wanted to protect me. He always has ever since I can remember. The collar was a gift when I was really little from him. He said it would never come off while he drew breath so no matter what I would know someone out there cared about me" she told him and spinner was shocked to know Dabi has such a soft heart under that hard exterior. "I can understand that. The wrong people find out that kind of information it makes things tricky. You can't tell anyone if they ever ask you about this. I think the reason most of the Paranormal liberation hasn't really tried to find you is because they don't want to piss off your brother" he said chuckling some and she laughed as well. "Don't worry I won't. Just don't let the others know about the collar story either" she said and they shook on it. "I need to head back before they start to wonder where I am. I'll let Dabi know you're doing well at least. Take care of yourself Yami" spinner said before heading back off into the city. Shinta knew he was right he shouldn't stay in the city too long with them still doing clean up from all that has happened by this point it was around lunch time. Shinta decided to go get herself some ramen at a spot her and toga would go to pretty frequently when she was with them; part of her did miss her friends there.

After ordering her usual she went and sat at the booth her and toga always sat at in the back. It was more secluded and it was also quieter near the back. Not long after she began to enjoy her meal out of the corner of her eye she see another tray touch the table. "I hoped I'd find you here. We always did come here for lunch today" a familiar voice said as she quickly looked up to see toga smiling at her as she sat across from her. "I was kinda hoping to see you too. I kinda miss you guys. I didn't feel like I was always being watched but right now I need that. You can tell Dabi if you want but that fight really messed me up. My chosen dad picked up on it so he is going to do what he can to help me. I already had some issues from things that had happened in the past but now…it's like it all came back again. So I need to stay for my own sake, I need to be near the family I chose to help me through this again like they have in the past" Shinta said to toga who listened very intently. This was the first time really to anyone Shinta had admitted she made her decision to stay at UA. "Don't worry about Mr. grump. I'm sure once I tell him your doing fine and getting help for what you need it for he will calm down some. He has been real worried about you since he hasn't heard from you in awhile. Oh yea speaking of that" toga said before pulling a familiar bag from her book bag handing it to her. "Your phone, favorite stuffy, a pair of your soundproof headphones and two of Dabi's shirts for you" she said with her signature smile. Shinta took the bag and hugged it tight with a sigh of relief. Her cheap phone had run its course so she hadn't been able to get ahold of anyone in a bit. "You're the best. I don't know why I left my phone that day. I thought it would be easier I guess to not have it on me. Also thanks for the other stuff too it should help with missing you guys so much" she said in return before the two enjoyed the rest of their lunch catching up a bit on how much Shigaraki had changed and they could tell all for one was the cause to how he had acted that day. Hearing those words helped put shinta's mind at rest some since she knew he wasn't as bad as he seemed.

Shinta spaced some thinking about the times her and Shigaraki would hang out. He had showed her his video game collection and how they would watch movies and crack jokes at them. "Hey you in there" toga said poking her on the nose gently and Shinta blinked "sorry I spaced out there for a second. I'm glad to hear shiggy is still himself even if all for one is trying to corrupt him" she said and Toga nodded in agreement. Not long after they finished their lunch said their goodbyes and headed off. Shinta pulled her phone out of the bag on her walk back to UA and smiled to see it was fully charged. She then started laughing when she saw toga took the liberty to take candid photos of everyone with her phone before returning it to her. Shinta looked over her messages as well finishing getting caught up on everything as she arrived back at UA. Classes would be ending soon so soon she would be telling her fellow classmates what all has happened since she left UA and she was nervous on how it was going to go. As she walks through the door to the dorm building for the first time since she left UA she hears the bell chime for class dismissal. She wanted to take in the place even thought it hadn't changed part of her missed it. Shinta went in the kitchen to see if they kept any of her tea on hand still and much to her surprise there was a fresh box of her favorite tea sitting with her favorite mug in the counter when she entered the kitchen. Sitting with the items was a note ~Bakugo and I noticed your tea had seemed to over stay it's shelf life so we got you a fresh box when we knew you had come home. Welcome back sis. Enjoy some tea for a few before we all get back today. Shoto~ and she smiled reading the note. Quickly making herself a cup of the tea so it could steep while she enjoyed the comforting aroma before revealing her secret to them all. After grabbing herself a small snack as well Shinta headed out back out to the common area to wait for her classmates, Shinso and Aizawa to get there.
