The Sister He Never Knew Existed

"Shinta? Its Shoto…you're okay. Your at UA and safe" he said softly as he closed the door making eye contact with Shinta who was holding some of her blue flames in her hands. Scorch marks on the walls in the room from her throwing the flames at the walls. Hearing the door to the room open Shinta stopped her tantrum seeing Shoto walk in, his voice even in her panic beginning to calm her down. "S-S…sho? " She asked the flames in her hands disappearing as she slowly stepped closer to him her legs shaking some. Shoto could see how weak she still was and quickly acted helping her back to the bed "Yea, its me sis. I'm here, Aizawa is outside. He said you woke up and he needed me help. He told me you were scared and thought seeing me might help. That and i've been waiting to see you again to say something" he said taking her hand once Shinta had gotten comfortable on the bed again. "And whats that?" She asked him confused when he took her hand. Aizawa let out a sigh when he began hearing a normal conversation coming from inside before he took his leave letting the nurses know that they can allow visitors for her now. He was still recovering himself now that getting around has been a bit harder since that day. He had too many questions and he didn't want to bother her with those till she was better. "Thank you. The doctors told me when I woke up that with as bad as my injuries were I wouldn't have been able to take much more. You saved me that day, not just me but a bunch of other heroes and our friends. Your actions that day none of us will ever forget. You fought with everything you had and you have grown so much since when we first met. So thank you from me as well as everyone else you saved that day. Even if so many of them don't know what you did, you are part of why we are all still here" Shoto told her. Hearing those words Shinta froze and stared at him. No one had really thanked her before really she wasn't sure how to react to it. "I did what was right. I made mistakes before that and don't deserve your thanks. I made wrong choices, if only I would have tried to figure out what they were planning…." She said and Shoto could see she was going to spiral on the thought. "Don't worry about that anymore, your here now. You left back then because it was the better option. What ever you did out there doesn't matter. When the time came you were there fighting along side your fellow heroes. Thats all the matters to me, even if you were with Dabi….er Touya I mean. From what I saw that day on the battle field he cares about you. That is something no one ever thought he could do" Shoto said to her and Shinta smiled some. "Thanks Sho" she said softly. 

"So how has everyone been? I kinda caught up a bit with bakugo, well more so filled him in on what I had been up to" she said to him. "They are doing good. No one has heard from Midoriya since he left the hospital. All we know is he felt it was safer if he wasn't here" he told her and she rolled her eyes. "I thought the same thing. I saw him occasionally while I was out there before being brought back myself. He has been trying to help clean up the mess All for one caused. If I am back here with just as big of target on me as him then he needs to be back here too. We are all stronger together than apart anyway" she said to him. "You're right but we haven't had much luck. We have tried to meet up with him but every time we get to a location he was spotted he's gone" he explained to her. "Well once I get cleared we will all go and bring him home" she said to Shoto before yawning some. "Oh there was one more thing I wanted to ask you about. That day I saw you turn into that big Kitsune, I noticed the mask you have seems linked to it. But how did that happen?" Shoto asked her knowing she was getting tired but he really wanted to know. "I will explain it to everyone back at the dorms when I get released. I'm not going anywhere. I promise I will explain everything then" she said to him with some nervousness in her voice. "If you insist. For now get some rest. I'm sure once everyone else hears your awake they will be wanting to come see you" he said getting up and heading to the door. "Thanks sho, your nothing like Enji. Don't ever change that" she said to him as he headed out the door. Those words rung in his mind as he left going back to the dorms. They had been talking for quite some time as it was now dark out and after dinner. The nurses came in and checked on Shinta bringing her something to eat before she went off to sleep for the night. 

Once Shoto was back at the dorms he was immediately bombarded by Bakugo "How is she?!" He yelled but the concern could be heard with in his voice. "She doing alright" Shoto said smacking bakugo's hand off of him. "She was a bit freaked out when woke up. I was able to calm her down pretty quick luckily, she had already done some damage to the room before I got there. So her spunk is still there for sure, she still seems a bit weak. She really wasn't taking care of herself out there as well as she should've" he said the last part softly but with concern for her well being as well. "Yea….when I finally saw her again I couldn't believe it at first. I could see how tired she was, how scared she felt….We had a picnic a few days later and I made her extra food. But that was recently. She hasn't told me much and I'm not sharing with out her consent" bakugo said to Shoto calming down some. "I asked her about what we saw that day. She said when she gets released she will explain everything when she gets released. For now I'm willing to accept that. We both know how head strong she is but is she says something she means it" shoto said and the two boys nodded in unison before also turning in for the night. For now they weren't going to let all the others know just yet. Plus they still have to get Midoriya back as well for it to fully feel like home again. The night was smooth sailing Aizawa filled Shinso in that Shinta was awake. Shinso planned to go first thing in the morning since it was weekend, that and he knew her friends that were there were going to want to go see her as well. The rest of the night passed peacefully for most. Shinta began having a nightmare again and shot awake groaning. "The same one again…what if thats what's going to happen? Would they really go against my wishes and lock me away?" She muttered to herself and stared at the ceiling almost afraid to go back to sleep that and she wanted to be outside. Her room didn't even have a window so she couldn't see the night sky which typically helped her after a nightmare. Before too long her eyes got heavy and she drifted off till morning. 

In the morning the doctor and nurses who had been taking care of Shinta came in once she was up to let her know how she was doing versus when she arrived. When they entered the room they saw Shinso was there with her. He wanted to be able to get some time in before everyone else got there to see her. "Ah good morning Shinso, Shinta. Glad to see your regaining your strength and energy. Before I get into your diagnosis from when you arrive. How long were you out there? I mean on your own specifically?" The doctor asked her and she took a deep breath. "About two months I think now. I was released from the hospital the day after that big fight. I've been on my own out there since" she admitted. Shinta hadn't really thought about how long she had been out there really till now. The doctor was almost shocked at her response "Well that is impressive. For a multitude of reasons I might add. Shinta when you arrived here your body temperature was abnormally high even compared to your normal body temperature. At first we weren't exactly sure as to what was the cause for this until we treated the cold you had. Its good they got you here in time. Shinta from what we were able to figure out it seemed you had some form of a quirk awakening. It doesn't happen with everyone and is known to make the quirk user sick. Think of your normal abilities being doubled to tripled in strength. With your abilities being what they are this means we believe your fire may have reach new temperatures. Which would also explain your high fever when you arrived. That being said we were able to get your temperate back to normal the first day and once the cold was gone you just needed rest. Your body needed time to properly recharge and recoup from being sick in two separate ways" the doctor explained Shinta looked at him almost in shock at his words 'My flames got hotter?' She thought to herself taking in what the doctor was telling her. "Thank you. I'm also sorry for any trouble I caused and damages to my room or anything" she said to the doctor. Shinso was sitting there next to her bed listening to everything. He wasn't at that part of the fight nor did he know how long exactly she had been out there on her own either. It stung to know she still felt so afraid to reach out to any of them after the fight. He then thought about the first tub they tried to use for the ice bath and looked over at the doctor shaking his head like saying don't bring it up. The doctor got the hint "Not a problem. We were aware that you do not like waking up in unfamiliar places and did our best to take the precautions needed before placing you in the room here. We wanted to make sure you would feel safe once you knew where you were as well. The good news is you should be able to be released in another day or so. With that being said you still should try to take it easy with your fire. I know it is part of you but just for another week or so try not to over do it. We want to make sure your body temperature remains stable before you go back into using it like normal again" The doctor explained and the two siblings nodded before he and the nurses took there leave. 

Shinso waited till he knew the staff was out of ear shot before he looked at his sister with a look of anger, love and sadness before saying "You should've come home. If not to UA then home with dad, eri and me! I don't know exactly what happened where you guys were that day. Just what the report everyone got said which didn't say much about you or any of the students that were there. Then I help bring you back here to find out you've been hiding this whole time. Shinta I don't mean to yell but you should've come home. Dad has been worried about you ever since he woke up, he had Bakugo out looking for you almost every day until he found you. We were all so worried about you. If you don't want to tell me what happened then fine for now but I do expect to find out". Shinta was taken back both by the look on his face but the fact that he raised his voice while he spoke to her. Shinta had flinched when he raised his voice which is what had caused him to apologize. "No Shinso, you deserve to know what happened out there. I'll tell you what I told Shoto; when I get release from here come to the my dorm building after class and I'll explain it to everyone at once" she said to him altering the words to better fit which brother she was speaking to. "I'll accept that. Shinta I know its been hard on you, but your not alone. Surprisingly even Endeavor has seemingly started to turn over a new leaf. He has been trying to make amends with the Todoroki kids ever since that announcement. How are you taking it though? I mean with everyone now knowing who you are" Shinso asked his sister, he was trying to understand what she could be going through. She had to think for a moment "You know I haven't really had much time to think about it. I'm sure for some it raised a bunch of questions. He tried to offer to help me up that day before his secret was revealed. I can't trust him and never will. The fact that everyone knows what we have worked so hard to keep secret for so long scares me. If they try to look into my records and realize they were removed from the facilities I was in more questions will surely arise" Shinta said. Shinso nodded in response "I get it sis. Don't worry, Dad and I will always have your back; remember that. You aren't alone; on top of us you have all of your friends here at UA as well" he said messing up his sisters hair some before the two of them chuckled some. "I'm gonna let you get some rest. I'm sure Bakugo will be here to see you today as well. He has been real worried about you from what dad has said" Shinso said before heading out the door. "Thanks Shin. To dad and you both, for everything you guys have done for me" she said to him as he headed out.
