Chapter 379: Void Collapse
"You're doing it wrong," Wrath said with a sigh. "If you want to create life, you should first give it some thought. What are you thinking of right now?"
Neraxis's brows twitched as he collapsed the Void onto Wrath.
Yet aside from a bit of blood spilling, Wrath was relatively unscathed.
The two had been at this for God knew how long. He hadn't even checked his status screen in years.
But if he had to guess, he had been at this for around 2 years, give or take a few weeks.
In that time, he managed to form several World Cores while fending off Wrath.
At some point down the line, Wrath had noticed the way Neraxis was making the worlds was a bit wrong.
He had tried to correct him several times, but Neraxis didn't want to listen. After all, what kind of information could he gain from his enemy?
If anything, Neraxis thought that Wrath would feed him false information which would make him lose control of the Void.
But as the years went by, he couldn't help but try out the idea Wrath mentioned.
He had mentioned something along the lines of adding thought to his mana. At first, it seemed like a stupid idea, but when Neraxis weaved a city into existence, he imagined it having actual life.
And to his surprise, instead of the empty streets, he saw cars driving around, and tiny golden particles in humanoid shapes walking through the streets.
At the same time, the connection he had with this city, mana-wise, was much deeper than he was expecting.
It was so deep, in fact, that his mana would grow much more powerful if he used it directly through this city he had created.
"Well, there you go," Wrath remarked. "It wasn't so hard to use your ears for once, right?"
Neraxis's brows furrowed. "Why are you helping me?"
"Why? No reason," Wrath replied with a shrug. "It's just that it's been a very long time since I last fought somebody so troublesome. I can't escape this place, nor can I kill you because of that stupid regeneration."
"Well, a lot of time has passed. Your mana capacity increased as well," Neraxis pointed out. "I'm sure it's at least double or triple what it used to be all those years ago. All you need is a good punch and a kick. I'm sure you'd be able to kill me."
"Says the one who doesn't have enough strength to kill me himself," Wrath shot back. "I've lost interest now. Just let me out of here so I can go back. It doesn't help that you're not feeling any rage or hatred against me. That has long faded, it seems."
Wrath was right, in a way.
Neraxis still hated him, but not as much as when they first began fighting. Right now, there was a sort of bond between them, but he knew it would be broken in the next blow.
"Get ready, I'll grant your request," Neraxis stated and raised a single hand in the air.
Immediately, all the World Cores that had been gathering around them began emitting a golden light. And with a single thought, Neraxis collapsed the Void onto Wrath again.
Just this time, he was actually trying.
He realized there was a certain dimension in his Void realm. It was like a trash bin you'd find on a computer.
If he tossed a certain someone in the trash bin, they'd be deleted.
But so far, every time Neraxis dealt a blow to Wrath by collapsing the Void, Wrath survived with minor injuries which healed in moments.
However, this time around, Neraxis decided to do it on a bigger scale.
He sent 3 compressed World Cores straight at Wrath and detonated them beside him.
In that instant, 30 worlds manifested themselves, all circling around Wrath, who floated in the middle, amused.
"That's a neat trick, but... hmm?" Wrath's brows furrowed as he tried moving his body.
But of course, the force of 30 worlds made by Neraxis was not small in the slightest. Gravity was practically billions of times what it should be, and it was all directed toward the Sovereign of Wrath.
Yet it was clear that Wrath was slowly adjusting to the gravity as his fingers began to twitch, which meant that Neraxis had to finish this fast.
He focused on the 30 worlds, and with Wrath at the center, Neraxis began merging them, just as he had done in the past.
At first, it was difficult; however, with each passing moment, he felt less and less resistance.
Or so he thought, but a sharp projectile flew out, cleaving Neraxis's head clean off.
But even with his head cut off, Neraxis controlled the worlds to close in on Wrath, who actually began to resist.
Yet despite his resistance, Neraxis had been preparing this attack for far too long.
So as an immeasurable amount of time went by, he met Wrath's look of disbelief as his face was finally covered by the surrounding worlds.
"You're going to..." Wrath's pained groan rang out. "Gluttony will end you—"
A loud pop resounded, followed by his Void realm trembling and cracks forming. Yet it only took a few minutes for everything to settle down.
Is he dead? That easily? Neraxis doubted.
Even so, the worlds that had been slowly merging with one another suddenly got a giant boost. And within moments, they combined.
At the same time, the Sovereign of Wrath was nowhere to be seen.
Except for the fact that the worlds he had combined held a trace of his mana, and it was definitely immense.
Not as much as Neraxis's, of course, but he felt like it would be possible to call upon this particular wave of mana to increase his damage by many times.
Neraxis took a deep breath and finished condensing the worlds until finally, they were the size of a marble.
Another World Core. I guess this makes it 30 Cores... Neraxis thought, sighing. It's going to get too out of hand... I'll just count how many marbles I have instead of how many worlds I've compressed.
It'd save him the hassle, and of course, the system interface changed accordingly.
He was finally ready to create his own system, but as he glanced at his age, his jaw dropped.
Shit...
