278 years went by... Neraxis thought in awe.
But that just meant a lot more time had passed on the outside.
He did some quick calculations and soon came up with a number.
10 months.
For Evangeline and the others, 10 months had passed.
It seemed like every time he was ready to come back and settle down, a new problem arose. However, him dealing with Wrath had significantly lessened that problem.
After all, Wrath was one of the strongest Sovereigns, yet he had no way to disable Neraxis's healing.
And because of that, Neraxis practically farmed him.
His stats rose by an extreme amount, and he even got a skill out of it.
It was Null rarity. He didn't exactly know which rank it was, but he knew for a fact that it was higher than Eternal.
Maybe it's the second before the highest rank? Hmm... Neraxis pondered. Anyhow, it's time I get out of this place.
He opened up the Void with a mere thought and stepped out.
Immediately, the energy from his home planet hit him, and the density was far less than he was expecting.
But alas, he had been fighting Wrath in such concentrated gravity that the world before him would collapse if he were to unleash it.
Nonetheless, he couldn't feel any strong mana signatures except for Violet, Amaterasu, Seraphina, and an interesting batch of people.
Lana, Rara, and Aurelia.
They were at least Mythic ranked—if not, they might be reaching the confines of Transcendent.
Aurelia was definitely there already, and he could see her sparring with Evangeline.
She was wielding a sword, which was rather surprising considering she was a mage.
But even so, Neraxis took a deep breath, then teleported downward.
He was in front of the mountain home, so he teleported again, appearing inside.
And the moment he did, he stood in the middle of the living room, with his family and the girls surrounding him.
Yet there was something strange. They were practically not reacting to his presence.
He noticed Celina holding a corn dog as she approached him, then walked straight past him, almost as if he were a ghost.
And only then did he realize the issue.
This Void skill... how do I turn it off? Neraxis thought with a frown. I'm like in a dimension between the Void and the regular universe. I can't interact with them, but I can see them.
He shattered the space and reentered his Void realm before leaving it again. Yet it was the same result.
Neraxis was trapped in between the worlds, and he had no clue how to get out.
Is this even the Void skill's fault? It shouldn't even be a skill in the first place. I can use it freely... oh. Neraxis facepalmed.
It's probably Lagus's doing. His final fuck you. He locked me out of this world, maybe via some modification with the skill.
Just in case, Neraxis teleported up to Violet, the strongest person present, and waved his hand in front of her.
Yet, just like the others, she didn't react.
Or so he thought—however, Violet suddenly halted, then looked around.
It was almost as if she had felt something, but after searching around for a few moments, she found nothing and returned to doing what she was doing.
And that was relaxing in the bathtub.
Alright... what about Evangeline? Even Seraphina and Amaterasu... all of them are connected to me in a way, Neraxis thought as he approached them all and tried.
But alas, his efforts went in vain.
He couldn't get in touch with any of them.
Zaria, Ariella, Aella... Celina, Eris Aella. Everyone he tried approaching simply didn't react to him.
Therefore, he had no choice but to teleport away and get to the bottom of this.
He was sure he was strong enough to create his own system, but he wasn't sure how to go about it.
After all, Delta mentioned a world as an energy source, but his Void realm was more than that. He felt as if he had infinite mana.
So instead of dawdling around further, he once again entered his Void realm and sat down on a comfortable golden couch.
He kept opening and closing his status screen, trying to find a connection. Yet nothing came.
Or so he thought, when all of a sudden, an extremely faint trace of mana escaped into the air.
Because Neraxis made his Void realm extremely sensitive to mana, it had caught onto that trace and froze it in place.
The Void artificially expanded the faint trace, revealing a silvery-colored mana.
And just as Neraxis expected, it resembled the mana he had felt from Lagus.
He sighed, slumping down in the chair again.
I have to get rid of that, then replace it with my own mana maybe? Neraxis thought.
It would be a start, but he really hated waiting. He just wanted to go back home and embrace those he loved.
And as he had that thought, another trace of mana escaped from his status screen.
Just this time, the trace was the color red itself—the signature color that Evangeline had made his status screen to be.
Neraxis's brows furrowed. Now that's definitely on purpose.
"If you're seeing this, Lagus. Go fuck yourself," Neraxis threw a middle finger into the air, then let out a chuckle.
He fell silent, a resolved look appearing on his face.
I'll be done soon enough...
