3 years later…

"Hey, Hiro, we're going to karaoke. Wanna come with us?" Shinso asked, walking alongside Souta and Mio.

"I've got kendo practice" I replied. "Maybe I'll come by later"

We split paths, and I made my way to the gym.

Ahhh, less than a year left. Finally, I'll be able to use my quirk freely and show the world what I've been working for. Over these last three years, I've grown—physically, mentally, and even socially. Surprising, right? Turns out two of my classmates, Souta and Mio, are actually pretty cool. Funny, laid-back guys. And with Shinso, we've formed a tight little group. We hang out often, and honestly, it's helped me a lot.

But the biggest gain? My lightning chakra. What started as raw energy I could barely control is now evolving into something refined. Now i am able to control 100% of lightning chakra around my body, but still for only a minute. It hums beneath my skin, waiting. Focused. Controlled.

Forget that old fantasy about sneak-attacking a hero. Now? I could beat the shit out of one head-on.

I walked into the gym for kendo practice. Unfortunately, our team always got knocked out early at Nationals. But we did manage to win a regional tournament, and honestly? That's not bad. With the kind of team we had, that's probably the best we could've done. So yeah, I'm satisfied.

After practice, I headed home to change before going out again.

That's when it happened.

Someone's following me. I could feel it.

I turned down a quiet alley and waited. The guy showed up a few seconds later.

"Hey kid. I like your gear. Hand it over."

Mmm… average build. He's too sure of himself, that means he's probably got an offensive quirk.

"I'm not a kid" I replied, smirking. "And now that you've made this a robbery, I can defend myself."

"See, I hate brats like—"

I didn't let him finish. I grabbed my shinai, activated my lightning mantle—

BAAM.

His right arm exploded in a flash of electricity. He dropped to the ground, screaming. I could see bone.

"Every action has a reaction, my friend" I said, walking away.

Cruel? Maybe. But guys like that are the worst. What would he have done to a normal kid who tried to resist? Nothing good. These low-level villains keep going until a hero catches them—and then what? A few years in jail, and they're back on the streets.

Bah. I don't care.

When I got home, the TV was already on, broadcasting the news.

"An incident in Musutafu. A villain took a child hostage, but another kid threw himself in harm's way to help. Luckily, All Might arrived in time and saved them both."

I watched the footage. A green-haired boy lunged at the villain without hesitation.

So…the canon started.

I leaned against the wall, eyes glued to the screen.

"Nine months until my debut" I whispered, smiling.
