The Strongest Brain in the Interstellar

Chapter 288 - Everyone is Here

During the morning theory class, Jiang Hui packed up her things and was ready to head back. Last night, while studying assembly structures, she encountered a problem that had troubled her all night, and she still hadn’t figured it out. It had been on her mind all morning, leaving her slightly distracted during class. She planned to return and solve it before the afternoon lessons; otherwise, she wouldn’t have peace for the rest of the day.

Watching her grab her books and sprint out of the classroom like a hundred-meter dash, disappearing in an instant, two classmates who had intended to speak with her sighed helplessly.

“Jiang Hui always seems so rushed, disappearing right after class. She must be really busy.”

“Looks like being someone who gets first place really is different from us ordinary folks,” one of them remarked.

“I bet you’re planning to borrow someone’s notes again, aren’t you? After borrowing them twice last time, you’ve been thinking about it ever since. You can’t keep relying on others all the time. Can’t you do it yourself? And with Teacher Stark’s lecture being so abstract, taking notes isn’t even useful. Let’s just stick to studying the textbooks honestly.”

“Can my notes be the same as hers? Her handwriting is so neat, like it was printed, and the organization is clear. The speed at which she took notes is unbelievable…”

“But we can’t keep bothering others like this…” The person seemed to waver a bit.

Hearing this, the other person raised an eyebrow: “Right, you want it too, but you’re pretending not to care. I know you’re too shy to take advantage of others. It’s fine, next time we’ll exchange something for it.”

“I heard from a senior in the second year that she’s always in the library, so she probably loves reading. I happen to have a few books lying around, I’ll ask her if she wants them.”

Jiang Hui didn’t hear her classmates’ somewhat high opinion of her. Right now, her mind was filled with the side-turning axis structure and the related 3D diagrams. She was getting almost obsessed with it and didn’t even want to eat. She just headed straight for the dormitory.

But sometimes, the more eager you are to do something, the more likely you are to encounter “resistance.”

“Jiang Hui, you’re here?! I’ve been looking for you! Come—” someone said in surprise, then pulled Jiang Hui into the nearby cafeteria without hesitation.

Wait, hold on—she was planning to take the small path beside the cafeteria to head back to the dorm, not go into the cafeteria. Her mecha model and the small issue with the side-turning axis were waiting for her to solve them.

However, it seemed that Zhou Xiuwen, who had hurriedly come out to find her, didn’t notice Jiang Hui’s helpless expression. He just pushed her into the cafeteria.

By the time they made it to the second floor and got to a table on the right side, she discovered… well, it was definitely quite the gathering this time.

Huan Xian and Clarens sat next to each other, one on the left and one on the right, with at least one person between them. Across from them sat the casually poised Xierman, and with her and Zhou Xiuwen, the entire R186 team was gathered.

But why did this scene look so strange?

Huan Xian was scrolling through his light brain, with a large stack of paper materials piled on his left, tightly bound with twine, and the edges showed densely packed writing. It was unclear what it was.

Clarens was holding a small notebook, also seemingly busy with something.

As for Xierman, he had already started eating. When he saw Zhou Xiuwen bringing Jiang Hui in, his eyes lit up, and he waved his hands repeatedly, as if afraid they wouldn’t see him.

Now that they were here, of course, Jiang Hui had no choice but to join them.

Jiang Hui had to put aside her earlier plan and decided to continue her research later in the evening. This group of people gathered together wasn’t a coincidence; they must have something going on.

Since the meal they had together after meeting Huan Xian at the library last weekend, the group’s relationship had become much more natural.

It wasn’t that their cooperation and rapport on the competition field were fake, but at that time, they had known each other for a short period. Moreover, under the tense circumstances, relationships forged in such an environment couldn’t compare to the friendships built over a meal. After eating together, even the more reserved Huan Xian couldn’t help but draw a little closer to his young friends.

Actually, they had intended to invite Clarens as well, since after the competition, they hadn’t gotten together again. Since they already had four people, it wouldn’t be right to leave anyone out, and it would be awkward if he found out later, right?

However, when Jiang Hui contacted Clarens, he said he was not in the area where the school was located, and was probably back on the main continent. He wouldn’t be able to make it to the meal as it would take several star hours to get back. So it ended up being just a four-person dinner, and the venue was still the school cafeteria.

This time, it was also at the cafeteria, but at least everyone was present.

Although they hadn’t known each other for long, the group had become quite familiar with each other.

Jiang Hui naturally sat between Huan Xian and Clarens, while Zhou Xiuwen took a seat across from her.

Clarens gave a slight nod to Jiang Hui, acknowledging her. Huan Xian seemed to be communicating with someone, and Jiang Hui didn’t disturb him.

It was Xierman, across from them, who stopped eating and began speaking to Jiang Hui. “Jiang Hui… you’re running too fast! I saw you from far away, kept calling out to you, but only managed to catch Clarens. If I had known you were coming to the cafeteria, I would have just waited here for you.”

Jiang Hui thought to herself, ‘I was actually planning to avoid the cafeteria and go straight to the dorm. If I hadn’t stopped by the library to return some books, you guys wouldn’t have caught me.’

And it turned out Xierman had really mastered the art of being friendly—he even managed to stop the usually aloof Clarens. It was truly remarkable.

“Coming from that direction… took you this long to get here, you must have gone to the library again, right?” Zhou Xiuwen seemed to know her well.

He was one of the two in the group who liked to visit the library. Jiang Hui had run into him there several times, and he always seemed to be borrowing history-related books.

Jiang Hui nodded, confirming it.

At that moment, Huan Xian finally looked away from his light brain. He moved a thick stack of materials to the side and placed it in front of Jiang Hui.

Jiang Hui:?

“Here’s what you wanted,” Huan Xian said briefly.

Jiang Hui had previously borrowed textbooks from Huan Xian, and he had also recommended some related reference books. She had tried to buy as many electronic versions as she could, and for the ones she couldn’t, she made a note to look for them later. To be honest, this was much more useful than her own random research. At least it helped her get a clearer understanding of the position of conductor.

Seeing that the other person had brought over another stack of materials, although it didn’t look like textbooks, Jiang Hui naturally assumed they were textbooks or notes.

She carefully pulled out the top sheet, only to discover that the entire page was filled with handwritten notes. The handwriting was elegant and distinctive, with a clear personal style—this was Huan Xian’s handwriting.
