Chapter 312: Milim’s Victory!
"Dragon Star Dispersing Explosion!"
With a loud cry, Milim thrust the energy sphere between her hands in Lala's direction.
In the next second, the sphere split into over a dozen independent energy beams, which shot toward Lala at lightning speed.
Eventually, the beams merged into a star-shaped energy aggregate before detonating in a spectacular explosion.
A deafening roar erupted from the martial arts stage, echoing across the entire city. The arena was engulfed in a blinding white light, but all the energy that escaped was contained by the barrier surrounding the stage.
At the epicenter of the blast, Lala was clearly struggling. If she hadn't concentrated her energy to form a powerful protective shield around herself in advance, she might have been instantly defeated by Milim's attack.
Even though she avoided outright defeat, Lala's energy was drained by more than half as a result of defending against the massive attack.
Of course, Milim wasn't in great shape either. She didn't have infinite magicule reserves, and her battle instincts—honed over millennia—often led her to ignore her own energy consumption. Despite experiencing energy depletion just yesterday, she once again opened with a powerful ultimate move today.
As a result, Milim's remaining energy was only slightly more than Lala's, but not by much.
When the explosion subsided, the stage itself remained untouched, thanks to the barrier, but Lala was visibly in worse condition.
"Phew, that was close! My shield nearly broke. As expected of Milim," Lala said with a carefree smile, scratching her head as if nothing had happened.
"That was me holding back! I didn't expect you to withstand it, Lala. You're amazing!" Milim replied, her face lighting up with admiration.
The two didn't dwell on the exchange and quickly closed in for close-quarters combat. Lala wielded her uniquely designed longsword, while Milim carried a rusty-looking blade.
Their swords clashed repeatedly, filling the air with the sharp sound of metal against metal.
After over two hours of fierce battle, the match concluded with Lala's defeat, marking the end of an exhilarating contest.
"The first match of the six-to-three round: Milim wins! Due to time constraints, the second match will begin at 1 p.m.," Aoi Kujo announced.
By now, it was already past 11 a.m., and as she mentioned, it wasn't feasible to start another match immediately. Even with a half-hour intermission, lunchtime would arrive before the next fight.
Though it was slightly early, everyone made their way to the dining hall for lunch. For those visiting this world, one of the most anticipated events each day was the meals, which offered culinary delights unlike anything they had ever experienced before.
Rizu Ogata, whose family owned a udon shop, felt this keenly. She had always been confident in her family's udon, but after tasting the udon prepared by Aoi Kujo, she realized her own standards were rather ordinary.
Determined to learn the secrets behind this world's udon, Rizu volunteered as a kitchen assistant. Every morning, she woke up early to help Aoi Kujo and the others.
Her efforts paid off. With Aoi Kujo's guidance, Rizu picked up several new techniques. Though her skills were still far from matching Aoi Kujo's, she had improved enough to elevate her family's udon by several levels.
...
The two afternoon matches proceeded smoothly. The participants were Jibril versus Erica, and Luo Hao versus Asuna.
Despite Erica's significant growth in combat ability, she was no match for Jibril. Since her creation, Jibril had been engaged in countless battles, including multiple instances of defeating stronger opponents. In terms of combat experience, Jibril was arguably the strongest in the chat group, second only to Eriri.
It was no surprise that Jibril was considered the likely winner of the Martial Arts Tournament.
The gap between Luo Hao and Asuna was even wider. Asuna's advancement to the top six had been partially due to luck, but her journey ended here. Among the top six, any one of them could easily defeat her.
...
At 7 p.m., Eriri lay comfortably on a sofa with her eyes closed, enjoying a massage from Momo.
Nearby, Arifureta was playing a multiplayer game with Akino and others.
Though all the group members were in the same world, the chat group was far from quiet. On the contrary, it became even livelier in the evenings, filled with discussions about the day's matches.
[Chika Fujiwara (Level 5, Stage 9): Tomorrow is the final battle! Do you all feel confident about winning? @Milim (Level 7, Stage 1) @Jibril (Level 5, Stage 9) @Luo Cuilian (Level 6, Stage 1)]
[Jibril (Level 5, Stage 9): Oh my, isn't that obvious? I don't think I'll be taking second or third place.]
[Erica (Level 6, Stage 2): Little Jibril, you're just too strong. I thought I could catch up to you all with my hard work recently, but I was still easily defeated. Sad.jpg]
[Luo Cuilian (Level 6, Stage 1): I don't think I'll lose either.]
[Jibril (Level 5, Stage 9): Let's hope you can still say that tomorrow.]
[Luo Cuilian (Level 6, Stage 1): Then let's settle it in the ring. I'll show you these past two hundred years haven't been spent idly.]
[Milim (Level 7, Stage 1): Wahaha! This Martial Arts Tournament is so much fun! I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's battle.]
[Arifureta (Level 6, Stage 2 / Group Leader): Little Jibril doesn't hold back at all. I barely felt like I was in a fight before I got defeated. Sigh… Whatever, I'll just go back to playing my game.]
[Jibril (Level 5, Stage 9): You've got to give your all in a fight!]
[Chika Fujiwara (Level 5, Stage 9): Could anyone be as unlucky as me? Ruri-chan has no sense of fairness—ambushing and sneaking up on a delicate 16-year-old girl like me.]
[Ruri Gokou (Level 5, Stage 8): Hmph, it's not my fault your skills are terrible, and my Fallen Angel Demon Eye is simply too powerful.]
[Chika Fujiwara (Level 5, Stage 9): What Fallen Angel Demon Eye?? Isn't it just a Tenseigan? I'll try drawing one myself someday.]
[Eriri (Level 8, Stage 9): Chika-chan, if your luck isn't great, you'd better avoid the gacha.]
[Ruri Gokou (Level 5, Stage 8): That's right, Chika, trust us on this—gacha is a deep, dangerous pool, and you can't handle it!]
[Chika Fujiwara (Level 5, Stage 9): Like I want to hear that from someone who's done over 10,000 pulls!]
Looking at the lively conversations in the group chat, Eriri couldn't help but show a gentle smile.
This scene happened to be noticed by Momo, who, thinking that her massage had brought joy to Eriri, became even more enthusiastic as she worked her hands over Eriri's body.
From her shoulders to her arms, and down along her back, every part of Eriri's body—save for the front and private areas—was graced by Momo's gentle attention.
Giving Eriri massages was Momo's favorite thing to do, because it was only during these moments that Eriri seemed to belong solely to her. Even though, up until now, their relationship hadn't progressed to anything substantial, Momo relished these intimate occasions.
"Eriri, how about I massage the front as well?" Momo asked, swallowing nervously as she gazed longingly at Eriri's captivating figure.
This thought had lingered in her mind for quite some time, but she'd never worked up the courage to voice it. Now, in this very moment, she finally mustered her nerve and presented the idea, looking at Eriri with a face full of hopeful anticipation.
Hearing this, Eriri slowly opened her eyes and turned her head to glance at Momo with a meaningful expression.
Just as Momo felt herself wilting under Eriri's gaze, Eriri suddenly smiled and softly replied, "Of course, no problem."
Hearing the affirmative answer, Momo's face lit up with delight. However, before she could make a move, Eriri's voice rang out again.
"But before that... Momo, let me see how well you've developed first!"
With that, Eriri flipped over and, in one swift motion, pulled Momo into an embrace, disappearing into the living room.
...
Three hours later, Momo emerged from Eriri's room with slightly flushed cheeks and a deeply satisfied smile.
Thinking about how she had managed to spend quality time with Eriri before Lala and Nana could, a smug grin crept onto her face, and even her footsteps became lighter.
Seeing Momo back in the living room, Nana, who had finished her game, hurried over to her. "Hey, Momo, what were you and Eriri doing?"
After Eriri and Momo had disappeared from the living room earlier, the others had quickly noticed, though no one thought much of it—except Nana.
She knew her twin sister's thoughts all too well, especially since she shared the same ideas herself. Nana had been keeping a close eye on Momo, worried she'd make a move before she could.
So, when Momo vanished with Eriri, Nana couldn't help but let her mind wander.
"Oh, Nana, why aren't you still playing your game?" Momo replied with a nonchalant smile, completely unbothered by Nana's slightly accusatory tone.
"It's not my turn right now—wait, no, don't change the subject! Just answer my question."
"Hmm, it's nothing really," Momo said lightly. "Just a massage, you know? The only difference is that we moved from the living room sofa to Eriri's bed, that's all."
What Momo said made perfect sense, but Nana couldn't shake the feeling that Momo was inexplicably smug, as if she had one-upped her.
"Is Onee-chan in her room?" Momo asked, glancing around the living room but not seeing Lala anywhere. She clearly remembered Lala playing games with the group three hours ago.
"Yeah, Onee-chan went back to her room about an hour ago," Nana replied with a nod.
Although Nana still felt suspicious of Momo, she couldn't find any evidence to back up her doubts, so she ultimately let it go.
"I see. Well, I'll head back to my room to rest for now. You can keep playing," Momo said with a nod before turning to walk toward the suite she shared with her sisters.
"Forget it. It's late anyway. I'll head back with you," Nana said, having lost her interest in gaming. After bidding goodbye to Aletia and the others, she quickly caught up with Momo, and the two walked to their room together.
...
Time flew by, and another night passed.
Eriri chuckled softly as she stroked Kohina, who was still sound asleep beside her. She gently ran her fingers through the girl's silky hair.
Since the one-month promise Eriri made to Kohina hadn't expired yet, Kohina continued to sleep beside her every night.
Feeling the touch on her head, Kohina didn't wake immediately. Instead, she tightened her grip on Eriri's arm and nuzzled her head against Eriri's hand like a small, adorable animal.
Kohina, who usually woke up at the slightest noise, remained sound asleep. This alone was proof of how much she trusted Eriri.
"Wake up, little one," Eriri said, pinching Kohina's soft, smooth cheek.
The combination of Eriri's voice and her touch soon roused Kohina. She opened her beautiful, sleepy eyes and blinked at Eriri.
"Good morning, Onee-chan," Kohina said, immediately throwing herself into Eriri's arms.
"Good morning to you too, little one. But it's time for us to get up and have breakfast."
Eriri hugged Kohina and, holding her in her arms, sat up from the bed.
About 20 minutes later, after both were ready, Eriri and Kohina left their room.
As usual, Eriri gathered everyone together and led the group to the dining hall for breakfast. Along the way, the group gradually grew larger as more joined in.
...
At 9 a.m., after breakfast, all 110 people were seated in the spectator stands.
Aoi Kujo's figure vanished from the stands and reappeared in the air above the martial arts stage.
"We are about to begin the final round of the First Martial Arts Tournament of the Multiverse Same-Sex ♀ Friendship Chat Group: the placement matches for the top three contestants.
"In the following matches, the three remaining members will face each other in one-on-one battles to determine the ultimate champion, as well as the second and third places!"
