The Super Queen Of The Pokemon Era

Chapter 83: CHAPTER 83

c83: Chen Xiaoxiao's Secret?

Hearing Lei Tian's cheeky explanation and Lei Yu's indignant roar, Chen Xiaoxiao and Leng Yue couldn't help but laugh out loud.

They sighed internally what a hilarious and loving sibling duo.

Soon after, all the dishes they ordered arrived. Surrounded by fragrant roast duck, the warm dinner in the famed Beijing restaurant unfolded in a lively and joyful atmosphere.

Over the meal, Chen Xiaoxiao took the opportunity to ask Lei Tian and Lei Yu about the status of the Qingshi Electric Forest, a special ecological zone in Beihu Province known for its Electric-type Pokémon habitats, particularly near the Lanturn River Valley the only region where wild Chinchou and Lanturn have been observed in this world.

She secretly made plans to visit the forest after the celebration, hoping to catch a solid Electric-type ideally one that both looks great and has good offensive capabilities. After all, she still hadn't solved the power supply issue in her mobile Pokémon space.

Right now, she relied on a small solar generator. Combined with Pokémon like Togekiss or Cherrim using Sunny Day, it barely provided enough energy for basic equipment.

Chen Xiaoxiao praised her own cleverness, but knew this was only a temporary measure. It couldn't compare to the constant output from a true Electric-type Pokémon.

Sure, some of her team like Metagross could use Thunder Punch, but because they weren't Electric-types, the current produced was inconsistent and lacked proper voltage control.

It's like how many Pokémon can use Confusion, but only Psychic-types can wield it precisely such as to levitate themselves or manipulate small objects. Without innate typing, these moves function purely as blunt attacks, not refined tools.

"Xiaoxiao, your Pokémon are incredibly powerful. Do you have some kind of special secret training technique?" Lei Yu finally asked during the meal, a glint of curiosity in her eyes.

Secret technique? What am I Bruno of the Elite Four?

"Lei Yu!"

Before Chen Xiaoxiao could answer, Lei Tian lightly tapped her sister's shoulder and scolded her.

Everyone knew that a trainer's method of training and bonding with their Pokémon was personal almost sacred. Asking about it casually was a faux pas.

"Ah sorry!" Lei Yu quickly bowed her head, realizing her mistake. She'd asked out of pure admiration, not with any intent to probe or steal.

"It's fine," Chen Xiaoxiao said with a smile, waving it off. "I don't have some kind of grand secret. If you're curious, I'll share some of my training process. Whether it helps or not is another matter."

Hearing this, Lei Tian and Lei Yu perked up, listening closely. Leng Yue also looked at her with curiosity it wasn't like Chen Xiaoxiao to reveal this kind of thing.

"Normally, trainers only start progressing rapidly after getting their official license at 16, right?" Chen Xiaoxiao asked.

The twins nodded in unison. That was the accepted truth: once trainers gained the right to explore the wild and challenge stronger opponents, real growth began.

"Exactly. Because only after 16 can you legally enter wilderness areas, meet strong wild Pokémon, and battle them. That environment forces your growth."

The two nodded again this made sense.

Leng Yue, who already knew the answer, smiled knowingly.

"Well, I started going into the wild when I was six. I used Teleport—a Psychic-type technique to sneak out on my own. On holidays, I averaged over 100 battles a day, all against different wild Pokémon. That's how my team grew."

The moment Chen Xiaoxiao dropped this "nuclear bomb," the siblings froze.

"Six?! A hundred battles per day?! That's inhuman!"

Even now, while traveling, Lei Tian and Lei Yu could only manage maybe ten battles a day. Pokémon fatigue, travel time, and injury risk limited training.

Pokémon who battle too much get worn out both mentally and physically. Without proper rest and healing, even Pokémon like Scyther or Riolu would suffer stat declines or worse have their base potential, or IVs, degraded.

And wild areas lacked Pokémon Centers. If a team member got hurt, it could take days to return to civilization for treatment.

"What if one of your Pokémon got seriously injured out there...?"

Lei Yu paused mid-sentence. Then, seeing the calm smile on Chen Xiaoxiao's face, she understood.

Ah. Of course.

With Gardevoir, a fully evolved Psychic/Fairy-type with access to Heal Pulse, Life Dew, and Aromatherapy, Chen Xiaoxiao had her own mobile healing unit.

The healing machines in Pokémon Centers were designed by mimicking moves like Recover, Soft-Boiled, and Heal Pulse. Having a Pokémon capable of those moves in the field meant unlimited sustain.

Potions worked too but they were expensive, bulky, and far slower.

Lei Tian and Lei Yu glanced at each other. Maybe they should also catch a "milk tank" a nickname for Pokémon with healing capabilities.

"But still, that's a brutal training regimen. If done improperly, it would wear down a Pokémon's vitality. The only reason Xiaoxiao can pull this off is that she has telepathy and empathic perception."

Leng Yue finally spoke up, her voice even.

"She can feel her Pokémon's condition when they're fatigued, when they're nearing their limit and she adjusts accordingly. That's what makes this whole thing sustainable."

Chen Xiaoxiao gave her a silent thumbs up. Leng Yue hit the nail on the head.

Without those Psychic abilities, this kind of extreme training would burn out even a hardy Pokémon like Lucario or Gallade.

Lei Tian and Lei Yu both looked at her in stunned awe. Psychic-type trainers were already rare. One with this much control and battle experience? Practically cheating.

"Then... how do I get my Pokémon to tell me when they're at their limit?" Lei Tian asked hesitantly.

"You can't," Leng Yue answered flatly. "They won't. Even if they feel like fainting, a proud Pokémon will keep fighting. It's their instinct."

Everyone fell silent for a moment, contemplating.

After dinner, the four of them exchanged contact info and agreed to hang out again during the remaining days of the Alliance Celebration. Then, they said their goodbyes.

---

On the way back to Leng Yue's home, she glanced sideways at Chen Xiaoxiao and asked, "So, you asked about Qingshi Electric Forest... You planning to catch a new Pokémon?"

"Yeah," Chen Xiaoxiao said with a grin. "After the celebration ends, I'm heading back on the road. Been stuck in the capital for a month now. Time to move again."

She added playfully, "Want me to catch something for you? How about a Pikachu?"

Leng Yue shook her head with a chuckle. "Thanks, but I'm not really built to raise Electric-types. Leave that to the experts."

She knew their parting was near. But even though it was short, this month with Chen Xiaoxiao had been a happy one and she was content.
