Chapter 6: Going to the training ground.
MC's POV
"I like… Sasuke… I don't like… the idea of not marrying Sasuke… my hobby is stalking and deluding myself with the thought of marrying Sasuke… my dream is to marry Sasuke..."
Sakura spoke while turning red, though I couldn't hear most of what she said. I rolled my eyes quite a bit, even though I understood that this was something many teenagers went through. Considering that this was a ninja world, full of dangers, it was honestly frustrating and disappointing that this was the only thing on her mind.
Even more so given that she was a civilian ninja in an elite class.
"I… don't particularly like anything… and I don't exactly have dislikes either. My hobby is training and getting stronger, as well as taking care of the younger Uchiha children. I guess you could say I enjoy that. As for my goal, it's to protect the members of my clan and get revenge on a certain someone."
Sasuke spoke. At the beginning of his sentence, I felt him pause and glance at me, but he quickly continued. When he spoke about his revenge, a bloodthirsty aura surrounded his body.
Something noticeably different from the anime was the unusual event of the younger Uchiha clan members surviving. A fact that, to this day, I still didn't understand the reason for—though it was a good thing.
"Akane, your turn," Kakashi said.
I stretched my neck slightly and spoke.
"I like training and learning about new seals, ninjutsu, genjutsu, and other combat techniques. I also enjoy cooking and spending time with my brother. I dislike when people are prejudiced or try to use violence against me or my brother. My goal is to become a capable and versatile assistant to my brother and help protect both him and the village."
My words reinforced what everyone at the scene was already thinking.
'She definitely… loves her brother a lot…'
Meanwhile, a blue-black-haired boy frowned, thinking that he should improve his relationship with Naruto.
Once I finished speaking, everyone's eyes turned to our sensei.
He stood there as if he didn't understand why, and in the end, Naruto and Sakura urged him.
"Sensei, it's your turn!"
"The good things. What I like and dislike… I really don't like talking about that. As for my life goal… I haven't really thought about it. And my hobbies… I have many hobbies."
His response said absolutely nothing, leaving everyone speechless. I, in particular, rolled my eyes at his shamelessness.
"Well, that's it for today. Tomorrow, be at Training Ground 7 by 5 AM. And don't eat anything."
After speaking, his body flickered and disappeared.
The four of us left, chatting about various topics, before we eventually parted ways and each returned home.
Since Naruto didn't have a crush on Sakura, he didn't try to stay and continue talking with her.
In the end, the two of us went to a sushi restaurant.
As soon as we arrived, we felt strong, hostile gazes. But I simply made an angry face and released a strong wave of killing intent, making everyone tremble and avert their eyes.
No matter what the restaurant owner thought or felt, he wouldn't dare disrespect future ninjas—especially one who exuded such hostility.
"What will you two have?"
"I'll have an orange juice and the number three set. Dattebane."
"I'll take the number four set, dattebayo!!" Naruto said loudly, smiling.
The owner looked a bit unsettled but noted our orders and left.
"Sis, is it really okay to spend this much?"
I smiled at my brother and playfully smacked his head.
"Yes, I saved up a good amount of money by selling the items I make. Besides, we'll be becoming ninjas soon, which means we'll be able to take on missions and earn more money."
Hearing my words, Naruto nodded while holding his beloved frog-shaped wallet, Gama-chan. I wasn't going to let him pay today, but I couldn't resist how cute he looked, hugging that chubby frog full of coins and bills.
When we finished eating, I took out my own wallet—a cute yellow duck-shaped one. But it was special because I had trained with it, embedding it with various seals, including reinforcement, concealment, restriction, and spatial expansion.
I did it mostly as a joke and because I found it fun.
Raising my fingers, the hidden letters on the wallet moved, unlocking it. I pulled out some ryo and paid for the meal.
The next morning, on the day of training, I was in the kitchen preparing some food while, in a corner of my room, twelve shadow clones were training in Fuuinjutsu, chakra control, and ninjutsu. Meanwhile, two other transformed clones were wandering around the Genin section of the library.
Since that area allowed easier access to C-rank jutsus, it was a much better option than requesting them.
In fact, even yesterday, I had left some shadow clones transformed and reading everything available in the library. It would make learning much easier in the long run. After all, I needed to become stronger within two to four years—when the great wars would begin—so I couldn't waste the opportunity to use my talent, my large chakra reserves, and the shadow clone buff to grow stronger.
"Sis, didn't Sensei say we shouldn't eat before meeting him?"
I placed a hand on my brother's head and spoke.
"Remember the lessons, brother. Ninjas must always be prepared and energetic before undertaking a task or mission. Eating is essential. I don't know Sensei's intentions, but we should eat."
Hearing my reasoning, he seemed to understand and nodded in agreement.
"I see…"
For breakfast, I made scrambled eggs with pieces of cheese, two small toasts, and some strawberry juice.
After finishing our meal, we dressed in our ninja outfits. My forehead protector was tied around my right arm, while Naruto wore his proudly on his head.
With swift movements, we headed to the training ground. I used my high-speed movement along with the Body Flicker Technique—without hand seals—to get ahead.
"Sis! Wait for me!!"
He shouted, and I smiled, letting him chase after me as a form of warm-up training.
Even though his speed wasn't comparable to mine, even without Body Flicker, he was still quite fast thanks to my taijutsu training—though his real training came from escaping angry ninjas after playing pranks on them.
In just a few minutes, we arrived at the training ground, where Sakura and Sasuke were already waiting.
"We're here, dattebane," I announced, receiving a silent nod from Sasuke.
Meanwhile, Sakura spoke.
"Welcome, Akane-san. I see you're late, Naruto??? Why so late?"
Her duality left me speechless. She treated me with respect and didn't even mention my lateness, but when it came to Naruto, she was less courteous and immediately pointed it out.
"That's because we had breakfast."
Our words surprised both of them, and they stared at us in shock, asking why we disobeyed Sensei.
I didn't say anything and let my brother explain the reasoning. However, after thinking for a moment, they both took out basic nutrition bars from their bags and ate them.
It seemed they had decided to trust Naruto's logic.
I didn't comment and instead sat down, extending my sensory abilities over a wide area.
However, I still couldn't detect Sensei.
