Chapter 24
Chapter 24: The Initial Mana Spirit Card of Dark Demon
After all, as beginner cards, the “Magical Beast” Mana Spirit Cards were not overly difficult aside from having more steps in their creation process. Among these, the most challenging was merely the drawing of the Number One Formation!
However, the Number One Formation had been taught since the first lesson of Mana Theory, spanning four whole weeks. Even someone as slow-witted as Diana could now sketch it relatively proficiently. What they lacked was simply practical experience!
This was the crux of the issue. For most newcomers, today was their first practical experience. Not even the act of “using a Magic Pen to draw the Formation” was familiar to them!
But Dark had no such concerns. Once he got into the groove, his pace for drawing the Formation was both swift and steady!
“Step one, apply Elemental Honey Juice onto the Mana Card.”
The Elemental Honey Juice was made by mixing the powder of Elemental Tree roots with Elemental Honey and stirring them thoroughly. The finished product was clear and light, carrying a faint sweetness. Internally, it could nourish yin energy. Externally, it could heal skin injuries. Even without making Mana Spirit Cards, Elemental Honey Juice was highly sought after.
In certain circles of noble ladies, if someone didn’t have a bottle of Elemental Honey Juice, they would be looked down upon!
“After evenly applying the Elemental Honey Juice, the Mana Card will have the foundation to nurture a pseudo-life form. Then pour a drop of freshly prepared Brain Leaf Essence Water, sprinkle secret Illusion Powder…”
Approximately fifteen minutes later.
A semi-finished “Magical Beast” Mana Spirit Card lay quietly on the table.
The entire process had only one final step left.
Dark replaced the mercury flowing through the Magic Pen’s veins with a golden Magic Potion, then began to depict the final Number One Formation!
Just 15 seconds!
The Number One Formation was completed!
The instant the circuit connected, the entire Formation burst forth with intense golden light!
Without any hesitation, Dark used tweezers to pick up a transparent Magical Beast hair and placed it above the Number One Formation!
The hair gradually vanished under the golden light.
The light emitted by the Number One Formation grew increasingly dense.
When the entire hair was completely consumed, the golden light reached its peak intensity.
Golden threads separated from within the Number One Formation, winding around the Mana Card layer by layer.
Finally, they formed a golden cocoon!
…
Up to this point, the creation of the Magical Beast Mana Spirit Card was complete.
But was it successful?
Until the golden cocoon broke open, no one could know for sure.
Hmm…
Just like Schrödinger’s cat.
From the start of material preparation, the entire process took half an hour.
When Dark paused to catch his breath, he suddenly noticed that almost everyone’s gazes in the classroom were focused on him!
He was taken aback, noticing that most of his classmates’ eyes were fixed on the golden cocoon, seemingly awaiting what might emerge from within.
Even Professor Kazel had somehow appeared beside him.
What’s going on?
Where are your Mana Cards?
Alright, it looks like everyone has failed.
…
“Professor,” Dark couldn’t help but call out.
Professor Kazel smiled gently: “Excellent, every step from start to finish was flawlessly executed. You’re naturally a Mana Card creator.”
[Arrogance + … Dark’s expression changed slightly, quickly humbling himself: “No, Professor. I’m just more proficient than my classmates.”]
…
Professor Kazel nodded slightly: “Dark, there’s one last step.”
Dark: “One last step?”
Professor Kazel: “Infuse it with Mana, conveying your expectations to it.”
“Expectations?”
Dark furrowed his brows slightly. The professor had previously mentioned that the form of the Magical Beast depended on the deep-seated expectations of the Magus. But this metaphysical concept was far less clear than 1+1=2. So, what exactly were expectations?
Despite his doubts, he still reached out to grasp the golden cocoon and slowly infused it with Mana.
“What exactly is a Magical Beast?”
“Is a Magical Beast created as a Mana Spirit Card supposed to reflect the inner expectations of the Magus?”
“Race? Attributes? Attack and Defense? Ultimate Skills?”
…
His thoughts had not yet settled when he suddenly felt a pulsation. He immediately released his grip, and the golden cocoon began to crack along a seam.
Starting from this crack, the entire golden cocoon gradually transformed into light.
When the light faded, only the final Mana Card remained on the desk.
Dark extended two fingers and carefully picked it up.
The originally blurry, transparent outline on the card immediately began to change upon meeting his gaze.
Once the transformation ended, a very familiar little creature appeared before his eyes!
“Diemon, shall we try summoning it?” Professor Kazel suggested.
Dark shook his head: “Not yet, I want to research its data first.”
Professor Kazel nodded: “You can also continue crafting the second ‘Magical Beast.'”
…
The students noticed that Dark had no intention of summoning the “Magical Beast,” and their curiosity unsatisfied, they began to murmur among themselves.
In the front row, Emma Maltis wore an extremely reluctant expression.
She had clearly finished faster than Dark, but in the end, due to haste, she committed a fatal error, leading to her failure!
Otherwise, she would have been the fastest!
…
“Dark, can I see your ‘Magical Beast’?” Diana asked softly.
Beside her, Rose’s eyes were gleaming.
Dark smiled, this time not refusing, but directly showing them the “Magical Beast.”
[Card Name: Magical Beast]
[Type: Elemental Card]
[Level: ?]
[Race: Avian-beast Kin]
[Attribute: General Type]
[Mana: 100]
[Attack: 100]
[Defense: 100]
[Ultimate Skill: Mimic]
Yes, this was a Mana Spirit Card named “Magical Beast,” which was actually an “Ibut”!
…
“A Lesser Demon Beast followed by an Ibut?”
“A vague, elusive, shape-changing illusionary beast?”
“I’m going to throw up!”
“Copying ‘Digital Monsters’ isn’t enough? Now you’re copying ‘Pokémon’ too?”
“Hold on, could the Ibut I made be the original form of the Magical Beast before observation?”
Dark felt his guess was likely correct.
Just like how Lesser Demon Beasts in this world were inferior demons incapable of evolving.
The “Magical Beast” version of Ibut was probably a reinterpretation based on copying!
However, from the data panel of this “Magical Beast,” he discovered something unusual.
– [Ultimate Skill: Mimic]
– [Mimic: Imitate the opponent’s last move and use the same skill.]
Real Magical Beasts did not possess this ultimate skill.
“Does this mean that my Magical Beast, like the Lesser Demon Beast… has turned into my shape?”
“emmm…”
“Ibut (Demon God form)?”
