The Werewolf King's Bride

Chapter 503: [Bonus chapter] Oath Of Love

(From Blue's Perspective)

I felt myself shaking in anger. I might not have been too angry if I was not exhausted. I needed some rest. If not rest, I could work in my workshop. There was a lot of work left. Iris and Ruby were helping with my work.

The duke actually helped as well, so I could focus on my health, as per they knew. They did not know the whole thing. Among them, it was just Ruby, who knew. I could get more work than, thanks to their help.

But, instead, I was in this stupid meeting.

My ears were ringing. I needed to do something. Or, I would go crazy.

Just when I thought I would lose it, Evan stood up for me, and then Queen Laetitia. They probably did not know what they saved me and probably themselves from.

"As the Queen of Lacuna, I do not have any opposition regarding the Queen of Querencia," Queen Laetitia declared. "If a dark mage is a Queen who knows how to deal with political problems and wars better than you fouls with Alpha blood, then what's wrong with her being the Queen? Besides, the knights and mages of Querencia have pleaded loyalty to her. Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire

The master of the magic tower, the duke, and the majority of the nobles accepted her as the Queen. You can oppose it, yes, as it is part of your right. However, you cannot throw a tantrum and act like a child just because you could not overthrow her. Learn to accept your defeat so you can win someday at anything."

Evan stood up as well. The gratefulness I felt towards them was beyond anything. I truly just did not want to have anything to do with this meeting and this shit.

"And, I, as the King of Trouvaille, agree with the Queen of Lacuna. I will support the Queen of Querencia as well and will raise no opposition against her unless Querencia fails to keep the peace between Trouvaille and Querencia," he said.

"It will be the last time I ask this, King of Mazazine and King of Ataraxia," I said. The Queen of Ataraxia did not join the meeting, probably because she had assumed they would lose anyway beforehand.

"You will need our opinions too," the head priest said. "It cannot be just the…"

I held my hand up and silenced him. "You are no king, but a mere priest," I said. "Do not get over yourself just because you got the support of the people of your kingdom. In my kingdom, in this room, that support means nothing. The King and the Queen are the representatives of their kingdom and they will speak. I will hear the voice of no other, priest.

Do not overstep your boundaries."

"Isn't that what you have been doing, witch?" he snarled. "Overstepping the boundaries of nature?"

"Overstepping?" I let out a loud laugh. "Oh, please. Boundaries are for those who have something that restrains them. But, me? I would like it if you can show me someone or something that can stop me."

"I would do anything for my people," I added. "Breaking nature's law is just one of the things I can do, priest. Better not get on my nerve. You are not from my kingdom. I might not tolerate it too much. Now, now, King of Mazazine and King of Ataraxia, I would like to hear your opinion."

Vigor let out a growl and I patted the dragon's face gently. "Gentle boy, Vigor. Do not scare off our guests."

The timing was always right. It was as if Vigor knew when to do what, even without my command. The fear I wanted to spread through them would work just fine. Nothing was better than fear as a weapon.

In the end, both of them had to accept me as the Queen of Querencia. Queen Laetitia and Evan's words helped and my dragon did the rest. I wished I had asked Vigor to put its head through the window in the previous meetings as well. It would have been over before.

"Congratulations on officially and rightfully securing your throne," Queen Laetitia said. "And congratulations on almost giving birth to the heir."

"I am pretty sure no one congratulates someone about almost giving birth," I said. "But thank you for standing up for me."

"Oh, I have my advantages. Better have a Queen who has basic knowledge and is powerful enough as an ally," she shrugged. "King Demetrius would have to step down as well. There is no chosen heir to the throne I suppose."

"If it were not us, or our child, it would be Lady Ava Easton," I said. "Since she is underage, it would have been Lady Evelyn Easton for now, until Lady Ava reaches adulthood."

It was not entirely true. We had talked about it among ourselves, but nothing had been finalized. But there was no way I would tell Queen Laetitia that. In the end, she was the Queen of another kingdom and could go against me at any moment.

"Yes, Lady Evelyn does seem to have the knowledge, however, I would choose Queen Blue over and over again. She is no match. She has been to no real wars, even if she has the training," she said. "At least, Queen Blue has gone to this war. You have been the Queen for a little more than two years. If we judge the time, it is great how you could lead.

I am impressed, I got to admit."

"Impressing someone has never been my intention, however, I am, in fact, flattered," I tried to smile even though all I wanted to do was lie down for a bit. "Thank you again for helping me."

"Queen Blue could have done without my help as well."

"A little flattery doesn't hurt, no?" I said. "How about Queen Laetitia give me the pleasure by staying here for a few days?"

"A few days will not be possible judging my position, however, I can surely join dinner tonight," she said.

I smiled. "It would have been better if you could stay, but I am glad you will join the dinner tonight."

"And about my offer… Have you thought it through?"

"I have. And I have come to the conclusion that I have no intention of breaking my oath of love with my husband by being the partner of Queen Laetitia."
