"F*CK! WE'RE SO CLOSE!!"

"Just a little more... and we'll finally achieve it!"

I panted, my hands shaking with a mix of impatience and desperation. Each passing day felt like time was slipping away from me.

My grip tightened on the cracked table, a small trickle of blood staining my hand.

In the moment of silence, I felt her presence before I even heard her—her breath brushing against my ear in a soft whisper.

"Don't be impatient... it's only temporary..."

The voice was gentle and soothing.

"IMPATIENT?! IT'S BEEN WEEKS! I SHOULD HAVE KILLED HER NO MATTER WHAT! AND THIS 'TEMPORARY' WON'T EXIST!!"

My words burst out of anger, the desperation rising in my voice. How much longer could I wait?!

My fists clenched tightly, trembling with frustration.

She patted my shoulder, as if trying to comfort me.

"It's ok... no matter how far she goes, she won't escape me... Let her pick up what's missing, and soon enough, she'll come back to me... on her own accord.."

Her tone remained cool and steady, as if she were predicting the future.

"Just wait a little longer... you'll have it... Soon, it'll all be within your reach."

I exhaled, to control my temper. The whisper faded, leaving me alone in the silence of the room.

I turned away, leaving the room behind. My footsteps echoed through the grand hallway. Turning a corner, I was met by my comrades smiling, reflecting the taste of victory.

Together, we walked along the crimson carpet, showing a sense of honor, guiding us toward the castle's grand balcony.

As we stepped outside, a large cheering crowd erupted—

*CHEERS* *SHOUTS* *CLAPS*

"WAAAAH, IT'S THE HERO'S PARTY!"

"THE HEROES WHO KILLED THE WITCHES!"

"WE'RE SAVED!!"

"THANK YOU, HERO!!"

It felt like an honor to have freed these people, and for a fleeting moment, I basked in it. The crowd roared in celebration, their faces lit with gratitude and joy. Their adoration is on clear display, a tide of overwhelming emotion. A deep wave of pride swelled within me as I gazed down at them, the weight of my responsibility settling on my shoulders.
