Chapter 3: Restoring the Light
Staring at the blueprint map, he traced his finger along the pathways, searching for the power source's location.
The shelter's layout was massive, with multiple rooms and corridors stretching far beyond his current position. His eyes landed on a labeled section: Power Core - Maintenance Access.
"This must be it," he muttered, standing up. His stomach growled again, reminding him of the system's promised reward.
Shaking his head, he decided to worry about that later. For now, his goal was to restore power. With a deep breath, he followed the blueprint's directions, navigating through the dimly lit corridors.
Some areas were nearly pitch black, making every step feel eerie.
After what felt like an eternity, he arrived at a large chamber filled with old machinery, rusted panels, and broken wires sparking faintly. A massive generator stood at the center, dormant and covered in dust. A new system notification popped up:
**[Mission: Restore Power]
Objective: Reactivate the shelter's power core
Reward: 1 Pack of steak, 3kg of Rice
Status: Incomplete]**
His stomach reacted again at the mention of food. "Alright, let's get this done."
Examining the generator, he found a small terminal with a flickering screen. He tapped the screen, and another message appeared:
[System Override Required. Manual Repair Needed.]
"Figures. Nothing is ever easy." He sighed, rolling up his sleeves.
He searched around, picking up a few scattered tools. After carefully reconnecting some severed wires and tightening a few loose bolts, he found the main power switch. Taking a deep breath, he pulled the lever.
For a moment, nothing happened. Then, a deep hum resonated through the chamber as the generator roared back to life. Lights flickered on, illuminating the shelter with a soft glow. The system chimed:
**[Mission Complete!]
Shelter Power Restored
Reward Delivered to Inventory]**
Additional bonus has being rewarded
Cris was to into food that he do not see the additional reward.
"Finally!" He opened his inventory, and just as the system promised, a pack of steak and a bag of rice appeared. His eyes widened. "It really gave me food?!"
His stomach protested louder. Without hesitation, he grabbed the steak and immediately searched for a way to cook them. For now, survival came first. The mysteries of this world could wait.
