Chapter 35: Senior Brother Son Gohan
The air currents swirled, and a black streak of light pierced through the sky.
Sitting cross-legged on a black nimbus, Yuujin was observing the Dragon Ball radar in his hand. According to the radar's display, there was a Dragon Ball not far ahead of them.
He urged the black cloud to speed up, and soon, a large mountain appeared in Yuujin's line of sight.
This mountain was quite peculiar. From a distance, it looked like a giant bun, causing Yuujin to wonder—
"Could this be Mount Paozu?"
If Yuujin remembered correctly, Master Roshi's senior disciple, Son Gohan, lived in seclusion on Mount Paozu, and he happened to possess a four-star ball!
In the original Dragon Ball, Kakarot arrived on Earth in a spaceship and was found by Son Gohan, who took him in, named him Son Goku, and raised him as his own grandson, even teaching him martial arts.
Although Son Gohan made only a few appearances in the original story, he was undeniably a significant figure who greatly influenced the main character, Son Goku.
However, glancing at the little girl Goku, who was soundly asleep in his arms, Yuujin couldn't help but smile.
Regardless of the original protagonist's story, in this world, Goku was rescued by him from Planet Vegeta and raised by him, having no connection to Son Gohan.
Whether or not this was truly Mount Paozu, and whether or not this place belonged to his senior brother, it didn't matter. Since the Dragon Ball radar showed a Dragon Ball here, Yuujin naturally had to go down and take a look.
"Goku, wake up, wake up."
Yuujin patted Goku and called out.
"Mm…"
"Is it time to eat, Yuujin?"
Rubbing her sleepy eyes, Goku asked.
Yuujin couldn't help but facepalm. Eat, eat, eat—this silly girl thought about nothing but food all day.
"There's a Dragon Ball down there. Once we find it, we'll go get something delicious to eat."
"Then let's hurry up and find it!"
The moment she heard about eating something delicious, Goku's sleepiness vanished, and she instantly regained her energy, leaving Yuujin both amused and helpless.
Riding the black cloud, Yuujin and Goku flew around the mountain and soon spotted a modest little house halfway up. In the yard in front of the house, an elderly man was practicing martial arts.
Though Yuujin saw it from a distance, he instantly recognized the martial arts style of the Turtle School and confirmed that this was indeed Mount Paozu, and the elderly man was their senior brother, Son Gohan!
Meanwhile, Son Gohan below also noticed the two people in the sky, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes:
"The Nimbus?"
"No, it's not golden; it doesn't look like Master Roshi's Nimbus…"
Just as Son Gohan was muttering to himself, he suddenly saw a young man and a young girl leap down from the sky, startling him.
It was nearly a hundred meters high. Even some skilled martial artists would be severely injured if they fell from such a height. Son Gohan was about to jump up to rescue them, but quickly stopped in his tracks.
To his surprise, the young man and girl who had jumped down from the black cloud performed a few somersaults in the air and then landed steadily on the ground.
"Excuse me, are you Senior Brother Son Gohan?"
Yuujin greeted him and asked.
"Young one, you know me? Why do you call me Senior Brother?"
Son Gohan was astonished again, while Yuujin smiled slightly—
"Senior Brother Son Gohan, I am Yuujin, and she is Son Goku. We are both disciples of Master Roshi."
…
Inside the house, Son Gohan brewed two cups of hot tea for Yuujin and Goku and offered them some mountain fruits as refreshments.
"It's simple here in the mountains; please make yourself comfortable."
"You're too polite, Senior Brother."
"Junior Brother Yuujin, how is Master Roshi?"
"Master Roshi is doing well; there's no need for Senior Brother to worry."
"How admirable—such young heroes. I didn't expect Master Roshi to take on two more disciples."
"Good, good."
Son Gohan praised as he looked at the composed and steady Yuujin and then at Goku, who was already munching on fruit.
As Master Roshi's senior disciple, Son Gohan had thoroughly mastered the martial arts of the Turtle School. Though he was older now, his powerful strength still ranked among the top on this planet. With his experience, he could naturally sense the extraordinary nature of Yuujin and Goku.
He could barely discern the depth of Goku's abilities, but as for Yuujin, he couldn't see through him at all. This could only mean that the young man's strength was exceptionally formidable, likely even surpassing his own!
To reach such a level at such a young age, it seemed that Master Roshi had truly taken on two remarkable disciples this time, surpassing even him and the Ox-King.
"Junior Brother Yuujin, what brings you two here today?"
After some small talk, Son Gohan got to the point.
"Senior Brother Son Gohan, Goku and I are currently collecting the legendary Dragon Balls—these spherical objects. Do you happen to have any other Dragon Balls?"
Yuujin took out Goku's three-star ball and handed it to Son Gohan.
"Oh, so this is a Dragon Ball?"
"Wait here a moment."
Son Gohan showed a look of surprise upon seeing the three-star ball, then walked over to a nearby cabinet, rummaged around for a bit, and took out another Dragon Ball.
"Ha… Another Dragon Ball!"
Seeing that Son Gohan had also brought out a Dragon Ball, Goku, who was still munching on fruit, cried out in excitement.
Master Roshi had originally given Goku the three-star ball, while Son Gohan held the four-star ball. Having finally found the second Dragon Ball, Yuujin felt a bit of excitement inside.
"I've heard of the legend of the Dragon Balls. It is said that if you gather all seven, you can summon Shenron and make a wish. I found this orb in the mountains long ago, not knowing it was one of the fabled Dragon Balls."
Son Gohan stroked his beard, and as if resonating with each other, the two Dragon Balls began to glow.
"Senior Brother Son Gohan, these Dragon Balls are very important to me. Would you be willing to give yours to us? Whatever you ask, I will do my best to fulfill it."
Yuujin stood up and spoke.
"Hehe…"
"I'm just an old man nearing the end of my days. I have no use for this Dragon Ball, so if you want it, you may have it."
Without asking why they were collecting the Dragon Balls, Son Gohan chuckled and handed the Dragon Ball directly to Yuujin, who couldn't help but show his delight—
"Thank you, Senior Brother!"
