Chapter 3: The Battle Begins

The Streets of Shiganshina

The fires of Shiganshina continued to burn, the heat distorting the air as Titans roamed the ruined district. Eren, Mikasa, and Naruto stood in the middle of the chaos, surrounded on all sides by towering, grinning monstrosities.

Eren's fists trembled, but this time, it wasn't from fear—it was from anticipation. These monsters had taken everything from him, and now, for the first time, he had a chance to fight back.

Mikasa stood beside him, her grip firm on her dual blades. She was analyzing their situation, calculating the fastest way to eliminate the Titans.

Naruto, however, simply stretched his arms and grinned. "Alright, big guys, let's see what you've got."

The nearest Titan lunged forward, its massive hand reaching for them.

Mikasa reacted first. In a flash, she fired her ODM cables, zipping through the air like a shadow. She twisted her body mid-flight, slicing through the Titan's nape in one smooth motion. Steam erupted from the fatal wound as the creature collapsed.

Naruto whistled. "Whoa. You guys got some cool moves."

Eren, still unarmed, gritted his teeth. "Cool moves won't be enough. We need more firepower to—"

Before he could finish, a second Titan charged at them.

Naruto didn't wait.

His body blurred, moving faster than the eye could follow. One second, he was standing next to Eren. The next, he was above the Titan, a blue sphere of energy spinning violently in his palm.

"Rasengan!"

The attack slammed into the Titan's skull, shattering it on impact. The entire upper half of its head exploded, sending steaming flesh and bone flying. The Titan wobbled for a second before crashing to the ground.

Naruto landed gracefully, dusting off his hands. "Man, you guys got a serious pest problem."

Eren could barely process what he had just witnessed. He had seen ODM soldiers take down Titans before, but this… this was something else entirely.

Mikasa narrowed her eyes at Naruto. "You're not normal."

Naruto laughed. "Never have been, never will be."

Before they could continue, another deafening roar echoed through the ruined city.

More Titans were approaching.

Naruto cracked his knuckles. "Alright. Round two."

The Forest – Zenitsu's Escape

Meanwhile, deep in the Titan-infested forest, Zenitsu Agatsuma was running for his life.

Again.

"WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?!" he wailed, dodging between trees as another Titan crashed through the foliage behind him.

He could hear it breathing. He could feel the ground tremble beneath its monstrous footsteps. Every instinct in his body was screaming at him to run faster—but his legs were already burning.

"I… I can't keep this up," he panted. "I need to—"

Before he could finish his thought, his foot caught on a root, and he tripped.

Zenitsu hit the ground hard, rolling onto his back. His heart froze as he saw the Titan looming over him, its grotesque mouth stretching into a sickening grin.

It reached for him—

And then—

Everything went black.

Zenitsu's body stilled. His breathing slowed. His fear vanished.

Lightning crackled in the air.

Thunder Breathing—First Form: Thunderclap and Flash.

In an instant, he moved.

A bright yellow flash shot through the Titan's nape. Zenitsu reappeared behind it, sword extended.

The Titan froze. Then, its entire head slid off, severed cleanly from its shoulders. The massive body collapsed, steam hissing from the fatal wound.

For a few seconds, Zenitsu stood completely still. His blade dripped with Titan blood, the energy of his attack still crackling around him.

Then, his consciousness returned.

His eyes snapped open. He saw the dead Titan behind him.

And then he screamed.

"W-WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! OH GOD, I'M GONNA DIE! I'M GONNA—"

Before he could finish, another Titan roared in the distance.

Zenitsu took off running again, unknowingly heading straight toward Naruto, Eren, and Mikasa.

The Battle Escalates

Back in Shiganshina, the fight was reaching its peak.

Naruto, Eren, and Mikasa had taken down several Titans, but more just kept coming.

Eren panted, sweat dripping down his face. "There's… too many."

Naruto wiped his forehead, still grinning. "Nah, this is fun. Haven't fought anything this big in a while."

Mikasa frowned. "We can't hold them off forever. We need to find an escape route."

Before they could make a plan, something crashed into the ground nearby, kicking up a cloud of dust.

When the dust settled, they saw a boy in a yellow-and-black haori lying face-down in the dirt, shaking uncontrollably.

Zenitsu lifted his head weakly. His face was pale, his whole body trembling. "P-Please tell me you guys… are the g-good guys."

Eren and Mikasa stared at him, completely confused.

Naruto, however, just laughed.

"Well, look who finally showed up!" he said, grinning.

Zenitsu blinked. "W-Wait, do I know you?"

Naruto walked over and crouched beside him. "Not yet. But something tells me we're gonna be good friends."

Zenitsu's face turned even paler. "Oh no… That sounds like trouble."

And just as the group started processing everything—

A new roar echoed through the city.

Naruto's smile faded. "Uh-oh."

Mikasa tensed. "That one's different."

Eren turned toward the source—and what he saw made his blood run cold.

A Titan unlike any other was approaching.

It was massive, towering over the others. But that wasn't what made it terrifying.

This Titan had armor.

The Armored Titan had arrived.
