Chapter 25: A few quiet hours



Ms. Chaeyoon appeared and called all of us into another room. She led us upstairs, to a room on the second floor.

Inside were three people, the ones who had helped Mr. Park. I felt compelled to thank them for everything they'd done, and I did. We talked briefly, only for a few minutes, before heading back downstairs to where Mr. Park was waiting.

Mr. Park told us to get some rest. We would be leaving early in the morning.

He warned us that the GID was not far behind, maybe just a few hours away. If we stayed in one place too long, we'd be caught. It was only a matter of time.

After that, we had dinner. Nothing fancy, just microwavable rice and some instant curry.

I went to sleep on the couch. Ms. Chaeyoon and Mr. Park were still awake, talking quietly about what our next move should be.

The Organization wouldn't stop, not until we were either captured or dead. They'd go to any lengths to get what they wanted, driven by a fanatical goal: the destruction of God.

Early the next morning, we set out for another city, this one on the coast. Coastal towns were among the few places left with limited surveillance. If we ended up in a major city packed with cameras, we'd be caught almost instantly.

Mr. Park looked exhausted. I offered to drive.

We pulled into a convenience store to switch seats. Mr. Park took the passenger seat and quickly dozed off. Ms. Chaeyoon and Suhee sat in the back.

Suhee looked a little down, and Sad.
