Chapter 24: The Birth of Spider-Man
"Is that a spider?" Tohka thought for a moment as she looked at the spider in the container, glancing at Peter Parker.
The spider had been created by Parker's father based on his DNA. For others, it would be deadly, but for Peter, it was the key to unlocking his journey from an underdog to becoming Spider-Man.
"Hmm, should I help little Spider?" Looking at the spider in the container, Tohka was conflicted. After all, Spider-Man was her favorite hero in the Marvel universe.
However, since Harry was here, Tohka didn't want to do anything. But sometimes, fate still favored Peter, and at that moment, she heard...
A loud "bang" echoed, and the entire building instantly lost power.
Everyone instinctively ducked to the ground, and Tohka, taking advantage of the moment when no one was looking, used her psychic energy to shatter the container in front of her.
"Wow, a spider!" What drove Tohka crazy was that she seemed to have used too much force, and the spider somehow ended up floating right onto her nose.
She was startled and nearly jumped up. After all, anyone would be scared in that situation.
Tohka then shook her head furiously, and as if guided by fate, she flung the spider off, and it landed on Peter Parker.
"Watch out!" At that moment, a scream suddenly came from the other side.
Then, they saw a figure with wings break through the ceiling and dive down.
Clearly, the blackout was related to this person. The figure didn't pay any attention to anyone and instead broke the glass and flew out.
Unfortunately, although this person didn't attack anyone, in their haste, they unintentionally took a woman with them.
"Ah!" The woman screamed as her clothes got caught and tore, causing her to fall from mid-air. This was a building dozens of floors tall.
"Never mind, let's save her first." Seeing the woman fall, Tohka decided to rescue her first.
Then, she jumped after the person, and her armor activated from her pocket, covering her body in the blink of an eye.
The armor accelerated and reached the person's position. Then, Tohka caught the woman and flew upward.
After landing at the location where the others were, Tohka gently set the woman down. As for the person who ran, they had disappeared without a trace.
"Are you okay?" As Tohka set the woman down, the others rushed over with concern.
They had seen Tohka lose control and crash to the ground earlier.
"I'm fine, it was just a temporary short circuit. J.A.R.V.I.S. has cleared the issues, and everything is functioning normally now."
"Hey, Tohka, did you get a good look at that guy?"
Seeing Tohka unharmed, Harry let out a sigh of relief. After all, it was his invitation that brought her here today.
If anything went wrong, it would cause a lot of problems. But while he was relieved, he was also puzzled by the person who had broken out, especially since this was his father's company, and he couldn't ignore it.
"I don't know, but that guy seems to be a mutant." Others couldn't see clearly, but Tohka had a clear view.
Unfortunately, Tohka didn't recognize him. With so many characters in Marvel, there was no way she could know them all.
"Sorry, Harry, my armor doesn't have weapons, so I couldn't help catch him."
Actually, she was just being lazy and didn't want to expose herself.
"It's fine, I'll leave this to my father."
Harry didn't mind. After all, the OsCorp incident had been handled by Stark's young lady, which would be a bit embarrassing if it got out.
While the others were talking, Peter didn't say anything but kept touching his neck. Tohka, however, noticed a bite mark on Peter's neck.
At the same time, Tohka could feel that Peter Parker was undergoing dramatic changes.
In the end, today's events were over. With everything that happened, Norman immediately placed the company under lockdown. Since they were outsiders, it wasn't appropriate for them to stay, so Harry led everyone out.
Elsewhere, Norman Osborn was angrily yelling at the woman in front of him.
"Is this your result? Not only did you lose control, but you also messed up my company. And now Stark's little girl is getting all the attention. This would have been even more troublesome if it weren't for this."
After all, his employee had caused these issues in the company, so he had to step in and offer an explanation.
As for the spider that Tohka let go, he didn't notice it. After all, the spider had been left there for so long without any use. If it was gone, he assumed it was broken by the person who escaped.
"It's nothing. This was just an accident. I need a superior mutant. The one that escaped had too many obvious flaws. They had undergone a massive mutation, but it didn't meet my standards. Unfortunately, there's no target that meets this level right now."
"Hmph." Norman didn't say anything in response. It was true; currently, there didn't seem to be any suitable candidates for their company.
The X-gene in those mutants was extremely unstable, and many other superheroes relied on technology. So, he was somewhat helpless about the situation.
As for Captain America's enhancement serum, it had never been fully analyzed in all these years, and he had long given up on it.
"Spider-Man will be here soon too. I wonder if I've changed anything."
Once home, Tohka lay on her bed, reflecting on the day's events. Just a moment ago, Peter Parker, due to the sudden surge in his strength, had accidentally pulled off the handle of someone's car.
This reminded Tohka of an old joke: In her previous life, when the Soviet leader visited his troops, he accidentally pulled off the door handle of a brand-new armored vehicle. The photo of that moment was truly hilarious.
"Ah, tomorrow will be interesting." Tohka was looking forward to what kind of funny incident Peter would cause tomorrow. "Never mind, I'll go visit Tony in a couple of days and ask him to improve the armor. This thing clashes with my powers, and I might end up becoming the Exploding Armor Hero."
Thinking about today's accident, Tohka realized that Tony had no understanding of her powers. No, she should say that the current Iron Armor was still in its early stages, with none of the varied suits that came later.
After all, in the comics, Tony had even created armor capable of fighting against cosmic gods, though the materials were a bit lacking.
