Chapter 23: Visiting OsCorp
"Wait, his target seems to be us."
Looking at Iron Man in the sky, Peter showed an envious expression. Clearly, this young man had a dream of becoming a superhero.
However, he quickly became puzzled when he noticed that Iron Man was flying toward them.
"Be careful, something seems off." At that moment, Harry noticed that Iron Man's armor was having problems.
The flight path became erratic, and it looked like a plane going out of control as it flew toward them.
"Watch out, get out of the way!" At that moment, a female voice suddenly came from inside the armor.
Hearing the voice, Harry, Peter, and the others hurriedly ran into the building, and then there was a loud "boom" behind them.
"Um, Mr. Stark, are you okay?" Harry asked, looking at Iron Man in the large crater with concern.
Although he heard a female voice coming from the armor earlier, he hadn't heard it clearly due to the chaos.
At this point, Harry was the one to step forward and ask, since, as the heir of OsCorp, he had met Tony a few times.
"Cough, cough, cough, damn duct tape." After hearing Harry's words, Tohka wobbled as she stood up from the crater, and then the armor quickly began to morph.
In no time, it turned into a remote control, which Tohka then put away.
"Ahh, haha, sorry about that. The armor had a small malfunction, don't mind it."
Seeing the bewildered expressions of the others, Tohka could only awkwardly laugh to cover her embarrassment.
Just now, when Tohka was flying over, she had instinctively used her energy to hover in the air.
But then, she suddenly remembered that she shouldn't expose her powers in public, so she quickly stopped using her energy.
But then the problem came. When Tony designed this armor, he hadn't considered Tohka's abilities, so he was completely unaware of her energy.
Unfortunately, that burst of energy caused a short circuit inside the armor.
As Tohka was struggling with whether to reveal her abilities, she ended up, in that moment of hesitation, having an intimate encounter with the ground.
"Um, sorry about that, I made a huge crater at the entrance of your company."
At this moment, Tohka realized the damage she had caused, and her embarrassment deepened.
"It's okay." Looking speechless at Tohka, Harry shook his head to show he didn't mind. He could tell that she didn't intentionally damage their entrance.
"I'll contact logistics to have them fix this right away. Tsk, tsk, that's the Iron Man armor, huh? Stark Industries' technology really lives up to the hype."
After hearing Harry's words, the others finally remembered Tohka's identity.
Without her, this girl didn't have any of the typical "princess" traits. She did everything based on instinct, which led to many amusing situations.
If Tohka hadn't introduced herself at the beginning, most people would've nearly forgotten her identity.
"I'm not late, am I?" Seeing Harry's indifference, Tohka felt even more embarrassed.
"Right on time. Let's go. Stop staring, and get back to work. Miss Tohka, please come in."
Harry glanced at the clock and realized it was perfectly timed. He dismissed the crowd and led Tohka inside.
As the main person left, the crowd dispersed.
If it were another superhero, maybe the crowd wouldn't disperse so easily, but Tohka was different.
After all, Iron Man's identity had already been revealed, and while people were a bit surprised by Tohka wearing the Iron Armor, it was still within the realm of acceptance.
So, after hearing Harry's words, everyone went about their business, with no one staring at Tohka.
"Miss Tohka, please follow me. I'll show you our company's latest products."
Harry enthusiastically led Tohka inside OsCorp. As for whether it was actually the latest product... Tohka could only chuckle. Every company had its secrets, and everyone knew that.
Tohka wasn't stupid, she wouldn't ask Harry how the Green Goblin serum was coming along. If she did, she'd probably have to fight her way out today.
"These are some of our company's..." It had to be said, Harry was a very competent heir.
If Norman hadn't unexpectedly died, and instead handed over the company intact to Harry, OsCorp wouldn't have faced so many problems.
Plus, with Gwen working here, even someone like Tohka, who was an outsider and a bit of a fool, could understand the principles behind these products and their purposes.
"This is Dr. Curt Connors from our company. His research project is about limb regeneration..."
With that, Harry led the group through the facility, and they quickly arrived at a private lab.
Harry started the introduction, but Tohka wasn't interested in the product. Instead, she focused her attention on Dr. Curt Connors.
At this time, he hadn't yet transformed into the monstrous Lizard; he was instead a polite and well-mannered person.
Upon seeing the group, he began enthusiastically introducing himself. Soon, Peter Parker was absorbed in conversation with Dr. Connors, discussing the details.
"Alright, Peter. Don't forget why we're here today. If you really like it, I can help you get an ID card. As long as the doctor agrees, you can work here as his assistant."
Amused by the two of them getting so into the conversation, Harry had to speak up to interrupt.
Tohka just smiled in response. To be fair, Spider-Man was popular because he was always on the frontlines of crime fighting—whether it was major crimes like murder and arson or smaller ones like theft, he was always there.
As for Tony and the others, they only intervened when big disasters occurred. For petty criminals like thieves, they only acted if they happened to witness it, unlike Spider-Man, who roamed the entire city, tackling all kinds of crime.
Of course, most of Spider-Man's enemies were ordinary people who had turned to crime for various reasons.
"Got it, let's go." After hearing Harry's words, Peter Parker realized it wasn't the right time.
He exchanged contact information with the professor and left with the group. It seemed like he genuinely planned to help out.
"Alright, next we'll be visiting the genetic mutation animal lab."
With that, Harry opened a large, thick door and led the group inside.
