Chapter 218
Chapter 218 The Beginning of Chapter Twenty-Seven
In the rock cave barrier, Itadori Yuuji and the No. 3 Nine-Aspect Diagram were fighting Bloodied.
Bloodied’s mouth, which was exposing large fangs, continuously spewed out blood columns towards Itadori Yuuji. Corrosive blood landed on the rock wall, creating a sizzling sound, and white smoke began rising from the walls.
This scene did not escape Itadori Yuuji’s eyes.
“If hit by that blood, it seems like it would be a bad situation.” Itadori Yuuji muttered to himself. He wasn’t sure if his body could withstand the corrosiveness of the blood.
But no matter how powerful the corrosive force of the blood was, if it couldn’t hit him, it had no meaning!
The pink-haired youth evasively dodged nimbly in the vast cave space and swiftly approached Bloodied.
Their fists collided, and a tremendous amount of force was transmitted back onto both bodies, and they both stepped back and slid a little distance away from each other.
Bloodied’s cheeks swelled again, then a blood column erupted from his mouth, shooting out like a flying sword aiming at Itadori Yuuji.
Itadori’s pupils constricted abruptly, and he instinctively dived down, avoiding the blood column while spinning around to get closer to Bloodied.
Itadori jumped up and executed a decisive roundhouse kick, hitting Bloodied’s huge head devoid of neck, sending him flying off.
Bloodied’s round figure bounced a few times on the ground; the instant his feet touched the ground, Itadori surged forward, embraced him tightly, and flipped him over with another throw, slamming him back to the ground.
He then rode atop Bloodied, punching repeatedly onto his overlapping head.
“Puff!” A blood column erupted again, and Itadori effortlessly back-flipped to avoid it, standing calmly after creating distance.
A series of rapid attacks considerably exhausted his energy, causing his chest to heave slightly as he struggled to catch his breath.
However, Bloodied, who had seemingly taken an unscathed beating from Itadori, stood up again.
“What, so sturdy.” From the grin he showed with his upward-curved lips, Bloodied was laughing, “Not fun anymore.”
Itadori found his words amusing. So, his earlier attack was regarded as a game by this guy?
Taking a deep breath, the pink-haired youth rushed forward, punching Bloodied’s smiling face.
If one punch didn’t work, then maybe ten or a hundred punches will! I’ll never believe that this guy has such resilience!
……
Compared to Itadori Yuuji’s intense engagement, the battle between Yukinoshita Yukino and Fushiguro Megumi seemed quite relaxed.
The long, rod-shaped cursed spirits, which looked like baguettes, instantly got sliced into two when they emerged from the holes in the rock wall.
Fushiguro Megumi wielded a pitch-black curved saber, hacking fiercely, slicing several cursed spirits into pieces.
It was akin to playing whack-a-mole.
“These cursed spirits are so weak,” said Yukinoshita Yukino.
“But there are many of them—are there countless ones?…” Fushiguro Megumi sighed irritably, looking somewhat anxious.
The two of them were very efficient in clearing the cursed spirits, but new baguette-like cursed spirits kept appearing, seemingly without end.
“Calm down. If you look closely, there aren’t many left,” Yukinoshita Yukino said.
At first, every pit on the rock wall housed a dark-yellow cursed spirit resembling a baguette. Now, many of these pits were empty upon sweeping over them.
Megumi understood he was getting overly anxious and took a deep breath to refocus.
Suddenly, his shoulder was caught by someone.
Turning quickly backward, he saw shadow-like ripples spreading on the rock wall behind him, with a pair of thick arms reaching out and grabbing his shoulder.
An overwhelmingly strong force pulled Megumi backward, dragging him into the black shadows.
The sequence of events happened too fast. Yukinoshita Yukino barely had time to evade Megumi and hacked into the shadow, feeling she successfully hit her target. However, her actions didn’t inflict serious injury.
“What? Is your brother here?”
On the other side, Bloodied, who was fiercely battling Itadori Yuuji, suddenly stopped as if sensing something. Enthusiastically, he started charging toward Yukinoshita Yukino and Fushiguro Megumi.
“Huh?” Itadori Yuuji paused in surprise, only realizing his opponent had fled. He hurriedly chased after him, “Hey! Where are you running to!”
Watching Bloodied’s green figure crash head-on into the shadow, disappearing from view like a wild boar, left Itadori Yuuji indecisive. Panic-stricken, he shouted to the black-haired girl, “Senior Yukinoshita! What should we do? Should we chase after him!”
“Chase! Fushiguro has been dragged off by the enemy. The newcomer might be allied with the green guy. You two should handle it well. Leave it to me here,” Yukinoshita Yukino quickly responded.
“Oh! Take care yourself,” Itadori Yuuji nodded, rushing through the ripples quickly and leaving the barrier.
The expanding shadow dissipated, Yukinoshita re-focused her attention, returning her eyes to the moles before her.
Superficially, Yukinoshita’s side seemed less dangerous, dealing with an unresponsive swarm of rod cursed spirits which required mere whack-a-mole treatment. Oppositely, Itadori Yuuji’s and Fushiguro Megumi’s situations appeared more perilous.
Yet, this perception was superficial.
Once both companions departed the barrier, Yukinoshita could finally concentrate fully, employing her techniques without worry about harming them. Thus, numerous cuts flew from under the black-haired girl’s hands, far surpassing previous efforts both in range and damage.
Reduced precision became irrelevant in a confined space where only she and the enemy remained.
The sealed cave violently quivered, deep grooves were etched into the rock walls, and rocks continually fell from above, creating the illusion this place might collapse under the barrage. Remaining rod-like cursed spirits were also sliced apart.
The black-haired girl’s flowing tresses gently rearranged herself, tidying her mess of hair.
“Come out, there’s no point in hiding any longer.”
Her eerily calm voice echoed through the air.
With the girl’s statement concluded, a gigantic, bizarre flower bud emerged through the rock wall before her.
Opening, a figure fell from within.
This was a humanoid cursed spirit,
Yukinoshita Yukino 面无表情, 美容依旧平静。
“I’ve been waiting for you.”
