"Tree of Crystal Petals"

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: A big forehead

Kiseki, having that thought, unknowingly showed a look of concern on his face about the future attack of the Kyūbi.

Kizashi, who was gently patting his son's head after delivering the wonderful news that his sister had been born, noticed the change in his expression and asked worriedly:

"What's wrong, champ?"

Realizing his slip, Kiseki quickly wiped the somber look off his face and smiled, replying:

"Nothing, Dad. I'm just excited to see my sister."

Kizashi, still somewhat suspicious, decided to let it go for the moment and said:

"Mmh... Well, your sister and mom are very tired. Tomorrow we'll go together to the Konoha hospital, okay?"

"Okay, Dad! I understand," Kiseki replied with a smile. However, in his mind, he reflected: I forgot how exhausting it is for a woman to give birth. Breaking the silence, he added:

"Dad, I'm hungry."

Kizashi, realizing his son had been alone all day since morning and had only eaten breakfast, apologized with an embarrassed tone:

"I'm sorry, son. Let me prepare something for you."

"Don't worry, Dad. I understand why you left in such a rush. It was an emergency," Kiseki said as they both headed to the kitchen.

While Kiseki finished eating what his father had prepared, Kizashi asked about his day:

"So, what did you do today?"

Kiseki answered casually:

"I was tidying up my sister's room and putting some of my old toys in there."

Kizashi chuckled and said:

"I don't think she'll like them. She's just a newborn!"

Embarrassed, Kiseki replied:

"But when she gets older, she'll like them..."

Unable to bear the embarrassment, he quickly finished his food and announced:

"Goodnight, Dad. I'm going to sleep now. That way, I can see my sister tomorrow."

With a mix of excitement and anticipation in his voice, he disappeared to his room.

Kizashi smiled and replied:

"Sleep well. Don't forget to brush your teeth, and don't stay up late."

As he watched his son leave, Kizashi's expression became thoughtful as he mused: I've noticed that Kiseki seems to see things we don't. His worldview isn't that of a typical child his age. It's unusual for a young boy to shift from such dark emotions to joy. After all, he's still a kid... Why should he worry so much? He must have inherited his grandmother's sharp mind. Ah, that woman was clever.

Finishing his thoughts, Kizashi relaxed, washed the dishes, brushed his teeth, and went to bed.

The next morning, Kiseki was the first to wake up. Excited, he thought: Finally, I get to meet my sister!

He quickly got dressed and ran to his father's room, bursting through the door. Full of energy, he exclaimed:

"Dad, it's time! Stop sleeping! We need to go see Mom and my sister."

Kizashi, still half-asleep, got up and yawned before responding:

"Before we go, champ, we need to have breakfast."

Before Kiseki could protest, his stomach growled loudly, betraying his hunger. Embarrassed, he said:

"Okay, Dad..."

Kizashi laughed and said:

"Come on, let's head to the kitchen."

As they made their way to the dining room, Kiseki sat happily in his chair, watching his father prepare his favorite breakfast: eggs and bacon.

"I love it when you cook, Dad," Kiseki said with a big smile as his father placed the plate in front of him.

Kizashi chuckled and replied:

"Don't say that in front of your mom, or we'll both be in trouble."

He ruffled Kiseki's hair as usual, sharing a moment of happiness before starting the much-anticipated day.

After finishing breakfast, the two headed to the Konoha hospital. As they walked, Kiseki noticed several canonical characters from the series, including Kakashi, Guy, Asuma, and even the Fourth Hokage's wife, who was buying ramen while visibly pregnant.

Seeing this, Kiseki commented:

"It seems Naruto inherited his love for ramen from his mother."

As they continued walking, they spotted the hospital building. Kiseki, upon seeing it, quickened his pace, excited to finally meet his sister.

"Wait for me, Kiseki!" Kizashi called out, following close behind.

Once inside the hospital, they asked at the reception desk, and the receptionist directed them:

"Third floor, pavilion C, room 4."

Both father and son headed in that direction. When they arrived, they knocked on the door, and upon hearing a "Come in," they entered.

Inside the room, they saw Mebuki, who was already up, doing some light stretches to recover from her delivery.

Kiseki, seeing his mother in good health, ran to her and hugged her tightly, exclaiming:

"Mommy!"

Mebuki happily returned the hug and said:

"I'm fine now, sweetheart. Do you want to see your sister?"

Kiseki nodded vigorously.

When Mebuki moved aside, Kiseki saw an incubator where a tiny baby was peacefully sleeping. As he approached, Kiseki smiled broadly and said:

"Now I'm officially a big brother."

Hearing this, both Mebuki and Kizashi smiled and replied in unison:

"Yes, son. Now you must protect her."

Kiseki nodded, thinking:

So this is Sakura... I didn't expect her forehead to be this big, even as a newborn.

He tried to stifle his laughter, and fortunately, neither of his parents noticed. However, someone else did: Sakura.

The baby opened her small green eyes and looked directly at Kiseki.

When Kiseki saw his sister looking at him, he felt a connection he had never experienced before, as if an intense flame inside him was telling him he had to protect her at all costs, that he would give anything for her.

It was a strange feeling, especially considering it was the first time he had seen her.

As he reflected on this new emotion, he thought:

Now I understand Itachi a little better. If my family were ever threatened, and I had to choose between everyone dying or sacrificing myself to save my little sister, I'd probably do the same.

Before he could dwell on the thought, he told himself:

But that's not going to happen. In the series, Sakura's parents are never shown dying, so I'll have them around for a long time.

Before he could dwell on the thought further, he noticed his sister trying to extend her tiny hand, as if wanting to touch him.

However, the incubator's glass stopped her from reaching him, and she could only barely brush against it.

Seeing this, Kiseki extended his own hand and, with a determined voice, said:

"I'll protect you from everything, little sister, even if it costs me my life."

Mebuki and Kizashi, watching the interaction between their children, were moved. However, upon hearing Kiseki's last comment, Kizashi nodded with pride, but Mebuki quickly interjected:

"Let's not think about the worst, Kiseki. Let's just enjoy this moment."

Kiseki simply smiled and nodded.

The family spent the entire day at the hospital, talking to each other and watching Sakura whenever she woke up or moved, admiring the newest member of their family.
