Chapter 12: The Bond We Share
The rain had stopped.
Forks basked in an unusual glow, the kind of morning that felt like a reward earned after enduring one too many storms. Raiko sat in the Cullen family garden, her fingers brushing over lavender buds glistening with dew. Her power, for once, was at rest. So was her heart.
She had faced the Volturi. And she had survived — not through violence, but through will.
Alice stepped outside with two cups of tea and a quiet smile. "You look like you're meditating."
"Not meditating," Raiko replied. "Remembering what peace feels like."
Alice sat beside her. "You earned it."
A silence passed between them — not awkward, but intimate.
Then the sliding glass door creaked again.
Rosalie joined them. "Carlisle says the Volturi haven't made any further moves."
Raiko gave a single nod. "They'll lick their wounds a while longer."
Rosalie sat across from her, golden eyes thoughtful. "You're not just powerful. You're precise. You could've erased them, but you didn't."
"I don't want to be feared," Raiko said. "Not by the people I…" she stopped.
Alice leaned forward. "What?"
Raiko's voice was soft. "Not by the people I love."
The word hung in the air.
Rosalie froze. Alice blinked.
"Love?" Rosalie echoed.
Raiko stood, pacing slowly, unsure. "I've lived two lives. One ended in a lab surrounded by wires. The other began in lightning. But this… here… you two…"
Her voice cracked. "You make me feel like I belong."
Alice stood and reached for her hand. "We've felt it too. Since the moment you walked into our lives."
Rosalie stepped in. "We've been afraid. Not of you. Of what it means to feel this… deeply."
Raiko turned to both of them. "Then don't be afraid anymore."
She reached out.
Rosalie took her left hand.
Alice took her right.
In that triangle of trust, something bloomed — unseen but deeply felt. A new bond. Not just romantic, not just physical.
Something supernatural. Something eternal.
Violet energy flickered softly around their hands — a quiet promise made between three hearts.
Alice whispered, "We're mates."
Rosalie nodded. "Soul-bound."
Raiko smiled, and it was brighter than lightning.
---------------
Later, in her apartment, Raiko stood at the mirror. The reflection staring back no longer confused her. It was hers now — strong, serene, and whole.
She lifted a hand, brushing a thumb over the edge of her jaw. There were no more questions about who she was.
Raiko - Goddess of thunder, guardian of forks, beloved of two immortal hearts.
And from this day forward, she would not run from her destiny — she would embrace it.
Together, they would build something new.
