Twilight Reign: The Violet Lightning

Chapter 11: Forks’ Last Light

Forks had always been gray — fog-wrapped, rain-drenched, quietly forgotten by the world. But now, it simmered. Beneath the veil of mist, tension pulsed like an electric wire stretched too tight.

Raiko stood at the edge of the forest, where pavement met pine. The wind tugged at her hair, violet strands glowing faintly. In the distance, she could feel it — not just eyes watching, but intent. The Volturi weren't done.

She wasn't afraid. She was angry.

Across town, the Cullens prepared. Carlisle reviewed escape plans. Esme packed small bags. Emmett and Jasper tested hunting paths in wolf territory.

"They're not retreating," Alice said, vision clouded. "Jane's pride is wounded. She'll come again."

Rosalie paced beside the window, arms folded.

Raiko entered, her presence quiet but fierce.

"We won't run," she said.

"You don't know what they'll bring," Rosalie said. "Even you—"

"I've destroyed stars," Raiko said softly. "But I'm not here to burn. I'm here to live. And I won't leave until they understand that."

Alice nodded. "Then we prepare the ground we stand on."

---------------

They met in the clearing again.

Jane stood at the center, Alec behind her, and four new cloaked figures in a loose circle.

"You were warned," Jane said coldly. "This is the final one."

Raiko stepped forward alone. "I never gave you permission to judge me."

"We don't need permission."

Raiko raised her hand.

From above, lightning cracked through the sky like a divine roar, striking the ground behind her.

"This land is mine now," she said. "You are trespassers."

One of the Volturi lunged — a blur of motion, daggers drawn.

Raiko moved faster. A single flash of violet — and the attacker crumpled, disarmed, unburned, but unconscious.

Jane flinched.

"I could kill you," Raiko said. "All of you. But I don't want a throne of ashes."

Alec stepped forward, face grim. "Then what do you want?"

"Peace."

Silence stretched.

Then — incredibly — Jane lowered her gaze,"I will report this to Aro."

"You do that."

Raiko turned her back and walked away, never flinching.

---------------

That evening, Forks glowed golden beneath a clearing sky.

Raiko stood on the roof again, Rosalie at her side, Alice on her other.

"Do you think they'll come again?" Alice asked.

Raiko smiled. "Let them. The storm remembers who it belongs to."

Rosalie rested her head on Raiko's shoulder.

In that quiet moment — there was no past, no future. Only the present, and Forks, for once, was still.
