Two Summit War :One Piece

Chapter 8: 008. All Parties Are Trying Their Best to Find Ron

The Search Begins

In the original world, the battle between the Marines and Whitebeard had temporarily halted due to the appearance of the contrast world. Yet, despite this unexpected pause, everyone remained frozen in their positions, weapons in hand, eyes locked on their opponents. Neither side lowered their guard.

Then, suddenly, an urgent order was issued from the top, passed down through the ranks.

"Hey, is there a Marine named Ron in your unit?"

"No."

"What about someone who used to be called Ron?"

"No."

"Anyone planning to change their name to Ron in the future?"

"...That's even less likely. With such a legendary figure bearing that name in another world, who would dare take it now?"

"Are there any fallen Marines who were named Ron?"

"...Of course not. How could someone that powerful have died in the line of duty?"

"What about someone who likes to carry a thermos?"

"I told you! Who among the younger Marines even uses a thermos?"

"That's odd. Why does he exist in that world, but not here?"

The investigation continued up the chain of command, and the Marine hierarchy was thoroughly searched. Eventually, the results reached Fleet Admiral Sengoku.

"There's no Marine by the name of Ron," Vice Admiral Tsuru reported.

She stood three steps away, an unconscious reaction to the contrast world's revelations. It had never been uncomfortable to stand close to Sengoku before, but now, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease.

"No?" Sengoku's brows furrowed deeply.

Something was definitely off.

Why doesn't he exist in this world?

Could it be that the contrast world had simply fabricated this individual to confuse them? No, that didn't make sense. The contrast world had appeared without warning and seemed to show reality as it was—two different paths the world had taken. There was no time for elaborate deception.

If that was the case, then Ron had to be real.

But where was he?

Whitebeard's Suspicion

Meanwhile, on the other side, the Whitebeard Pirates were equally unsettled.

Even though they didn't know the results of the Marine search, Whitebeard—Edward Newgate—had spent decades facing Sengoku in battle. One glance at the Fleet Admiral's expression told him everything he needed to know.

The Marines hadn't found Ron.

Whitebeard let out a small breath of relief.

If a man with such overwhelming presence was in the Marines, then the upcoming battle to rescue Ace would have been even more dangerous than it already was.

However, Marco, Whitebeard's first division commander, suddenly had an idea.

After scanning their surroundings to make sure no one else was listening, he leaned in close and whispered, "Dad, maybe in this world, that man isn't a Marine…"

Whitebeard's eyes narrowed slightly, but he understood the implication immediately.

"Maybe he's with us?"

Marco nodded.

If that were the case, then the balance of power would shift dramatically in their favor. With someone like Ron on their side, they wouldn't just be confident about saving Ace—they would dominate the battlefield.

Whitebeard had no trouble believing that such a powerful person could be hiding among them. After all, they had already seen it happen before.

Blackbeard, Marshall D. Teach, had spent decades pretending to be an unremarkable crew member. No one had suspected his hidden ambition or strength until it was too late.

If Teach could hide his abilities for years, why not Ron?

And if Ron was secretly on their side, it didn't matter what his goals were. As long as he helped them in the upcoming battle, Whitebeard was willing to overlook anything.

"Find him," Whitebeard ordered. "If he's here, don't provoke him. Just see what he wants, and do your best to satisfy him."

Marco and the other division commanders immediately set to work, combing through their ranks.

But after an exhaustive search, the answer came back.

"He's not here."

Whitebeard sighed. "Well, if he's not here, then he's not here."

It was disappointing, but at least the Marines didn't have him either. That meant the battlefield was still even—neither side had Ron's overwhelming power.

A Frenzied Global Search

Sengoku, who had been listening in, let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. He had been genuinely worried that Ron might have been with Whitebeard. If that had been the case, the rescue mission for Ace would have become a guaranteed success for the pirates.

However, just when he thought the matter was over, he noticed something strange.

The Marines and Whitebeard weren't the only ones searching for Ron.

Other major forces around the world had caught wind of the name "Ron" and were now launching their own investigations.

Holy Land Mariejois

The Five Elders were in a frenzy.

"Find him," ordered the Elder with the bald head and glasses. "Search the World Government's ranks thoroughly. If he is with us, we must ensure he stays on our side. Give him money, power, beautiful women—whatever he desires!"

Alabasta

Princess Vivi, concerned for her kingdom's future, issued her own command.

"Investigate immediately. If Ron is here in Alabasta, welcome him as an honored guest. The Nefertari family is willing to offer friendship and alliance."

Cake Island

Big Mom licked her lips in excitement.

"Go check!" she ordered her children. "If he's here, bring him to me. If he's strong, he'll make a fine husband!"

Wano Country

Kaido frowned, his massive frame radiating tension.

"Jack, start searching. Have Queen investigate Wano thoroughly. We can't let the Marines find him before we do."

The sheer number of powerful factions now involved in the search for Ron was unprecedented.

Kaido's thoughts turned back to the contrast world. He had seen what happened to him in that alternate future, and it made his blood boil.

No matter where Ron was in this world, he couldn't be allowed to join the Marines.

The idea of them becoming even stronger was unbearable.

Kaido slammed his fist into the ground, cracking the very earth beneath him.

"This world is already bad enough," he muttered. "I'll never let it turn into that world."

Final Thoughts

As all the major forces scoured the world for any trace of Ron, one thing became clear:

This man, whoever he was, had become the most sought-after individual in the world.

Even though he had yet to appear, his name alone had shaken the world's power balance.

And somewhere, out there, Ron existed.
